Ok, I’ve seen the bug post below here, but this one is of an entirely different nature.

There’s something wrong with the missions difficulty. As soon as the attack of the lumbercamp is over, which is fine, nicely balanced, a HUGE army of around 30-40 guys attack the gates.

I let the NPC’s run in first, but they are killed in a matter of seconds. The undead army also moves like a hive mind, so when I attack one person, the entire army attacks me and I’m killed in seconds.

I’m a pretty good player if I say so myself with a massive MMO and PvP experience, so you can be sure that I’m not calling for carebear here.

I doubt I’ll be able to kill that army, even 15 levels above, because the NPC’s don’t manage to kill a single enemy, then they swarm you, 20-30 of them.

By the way, I’m a Charr Engineer if that helps

ADDED**** Btw, I’ve exited and re-entered the mission 3 times and this happens every single time. Just log in with my character and it should happen to you ANet

I just did that mission on my thief just now, lvl 80 with rares, just kite the lot, you don’t have to kill them all, all I did was killed the ones that spawned near the lumber and the few risen that spawn before the big pack, some veteran giants will spawn (you don’t have to kill those either) just lock the gates to the fort.

I had the same problem as the OP Helnar.
After I was downed, I chose to respawn at checkpoint, which is inside Fort Trinity. By then the gate garrison had been slaughtered. There are two groups in front of the door now. Some loosely arranged Risen closer to the gate an the hive minded “zerg” group in a tight formation.
After you have killed the small, loose group, the command to close the gates should appear. If you attack the zerg, you might get downed a second time.
I guess you can avoid being downed there at all, if you stay away from the enemy zerg and flank the group to reach the gates. The NPCs will die anyway (not that you know that when you do it for the first time!).

I hope that helps others.

I posted this request in the other thread that has bugged issues. I’m trying to get this instance started and the pointer is telling me Trahearne is near the Asura gate above the logging area. I see a group of people chatting near the tents but I’m unable to get past the gate and the guard won’t let me know. Please help!
