Ok.. i swore i’d never admit too those i do not know or feel comfy with that i am in fact a fem player….. if i may suggest too…. to the Devs etc..it may be time to not just listen to the elite players but to us casual players also….. i.e. the silent majority…..

by this i mean..well..let me request a few things that would ensure me NEVER leaving the game……

1) keep up the good work…. keep introducing the upgrades you have been..for that i personally thank you….

2) Try introducing new gear that can be used in rp or in actual game that is actually sexy for both male and female players….. as a female player i do like to dress in clothes and shoes/boots that i would never wear in rl….. and i know that a lot of males too that play females also want the same options….

3) As a woman..i have nesting instincts.. that means i would love to build a home of my own…. if possible i would ask for the star wars galaxies model that would allow me to build my own home..decorate it as i wish wherever i wish….. but the rather lesser model of everquest will suffice i guess…… or even a seperate place all together where we can all build/take a home thats empty as our own…..

4) Last but not least….. a mount of some sort…… just to let us run around at a slightly faster speed with a no knock off from enemies % according to our lvls…..

trust me on this…… if you introduced these things..each customer will stay a LOT longer in game…….. i.e. from the stuff you’re working on now….to those i recommend…..

My love always…. ( well at least until the new Everquest comes about.. which i and many others are gonna look at ..unless this game with HUGE potential gets stuff done as it needs to )

I’m a female player and feel no discomfort in admitting such. Should I? For me, it’s incidental and few people who play this game will ever meet me in real life, so… meh.

I agree with the kudos for Arenanet and I’d love more armour variety (practical, sexy, ridiculous, comical, kitten, creepy… more of everything) though I’ve a couple of issues with your other ideas.

Player Housing and Guild Halls would be great additions to the game but prefacing the whole thing with ‘as a woman’ doesn’t help your case. Hey, I’m a woman, I don’t have nesting instincts but I’d sure like for people to be able to build cool hangouts for their friends and guildies. So do lots of male players. Player Housing and Guild Halls are constantly being demanded, requested and begged for.

Mounts… Mounts are a divisive issue. I would hate them. I’d resent them, I’d hate the clutter they brought, the ridiculous designs that overwhelmed the armour and weaponry and landscapes. Ugh. There’s nothing associated with mounts that would make my gametime more enjoyable than it is. In many instances, mounts would detract from my enjoyment.

Others want them and there reasons are no more or less valid than my own. However, the fact that the issue is so divisive is something I think Arenanet should be aware of. Adding mounts might well drive off more players than it attracts.

Would love housing. Home instance + Housing = Possible.
Would love mounts. But area-based world with still sort of confined spaces + Overabundance of waypoints = Possible but unnecessary.

If the areas that makes the world were bigger, or if it was ‘true’ open-world, mounts may have had a place in the game. Now… no way.

Also…. please……. learn…… how to……. write….. properly……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… please.

If there was a system where you would actually be forced to stable your mount, half of the annoyance would disappear (for me at least) as the most irritating thing I know with mounts is people who stand in the main city in front of/inside the TP or Bank or any other important NPC with their over-sized, double-headed, flaming horse-creature with wings, blocking the vision and thinking they look soooo cool on their 200$ mount that daddy bought them.

One possible problem would be character or mount scaling, specifically for Norn. A full sized Norn on a mount would either take up half the screen or look like it was riding some tiny animal. Plus mounts add more screen clutter, are more invasive in another player’s field of view, and I can’t even imagine what kind of clipping issues might occur.

I agree with Safer Saviour. For me, mounts would probably drive me out of the game. When they came out in WoW, I got my mount (hey neat), started hating seeing them everywhere and within a week or so I canceled my subscription. GW2 has no subscription but I do buy a large amount of gems a month so, well.. I guess that would be the end of that for me.

They stated mounts arent here cause of WP and any class can apply swiftness… but i would like to roam around on a beat though, but it would be too distracting in wvw etc..so would have to be like the broom, a town item.
But yes, males need better armor! It seems like medium and light are more covered than heavies… Warriors can wrap 2 belts around their chest and call it armor, while mediums will be covered in an awfully large coat, and necros running around in skirts.. The assassin is nice, but i dont want it to be my only option (before someone ships me link to numerous amount of gears, i’ve seen them all.. and they just dont work)

I love how some women think being a woman changes their statements in any way.
Your bringing up good Points, even though it’s painful to read with all that … everywhere, it makes you seem very insecure about what you are writing.

But in the end, how does being a woman change anything what you say?

What in the name of Balthazar does being a female have to do with your suggestions?

Why does it matter if I’m a male? It doesn’t. Starting any sort of suggestion, request, statement or anything really, with "HAAIII……. IM …A . . .. GRILL…….. BTW

. . . ….. " makes anything you say following it, invalid.

Nobody will take you seriously and it’s nothing but attention-seeking.

Player housing, mounts, new gear? They’re all things a lot of people want, regardless of gender. In a game where you can literally play as whatever gender you want and look pretty much however you want, it is not a factor.

Player housing, yes. New gear, yes. Mounts? No, go kitten off back to WoW or Everkitten if you want that.

tl;dr OP is nothing but an attention-seeking child and their opinions should be disregarded.

Not a single white knight? I am impressed! Seriously OP, noone cares what gender you are anymore it’s 2013, stand on your merits not your gender. Your opening statement almost appears that you are trying to draw a causal relationship between being female and being casual, I don’t know if this was your intention or not but if it was it’s quite frankly insulting. That isn’t to say that being casual is insulting, it’s just that to make an implication that you are casual simply because you are female, well it discredits any validity of female gamers as being able to actually be “competitive”

Your suggestions are valid, but I fail to see how it was necessary for you to say that you are female and to use stereotypical “arguments” to defend your points. All the suggestions you made were already posted many times and they are completely gender-neutral. Also, because you implied that you are casual because you are frmale, I find your post sexist. Obviosly, I agree with ShadowPuppet.

Congratulations! You do what every other gamer do and you want what many gamers want, but while being a girl!

Stop calling yourself a girl gamer or a fem gamer. Do men call themselves boy gamers or male gamers? Let’s all be just gamers, alright? Do it for the rest of the women that like to play games, if not for yourself. Show some respect for us, like you would do to any other gamer.

You are wrong with this.
This would only surely happen, if Anet would be so stupid to smack mounts right into everyones faces without giving us players the chance to avoid them completely.
So if anet would force us basically to use mounts in the game somewhere, thats the only case where it would be highly possible, that ANet would scare off with that alot of people resulting into a player exodus with alot of people leaving the game then.

But as long Anet puts them in just intelligent enough and doesn’t throw them in right into our faces without letting us avoid them, evereything would be fine and all those people, which don’t like them would still stick their lazy bums to the way point system that transports their lazy bums everwhere around in seconds… and all that without that they ever will see anyone run around on a mount as the only thing these people will see is permanently loading screens >.> yay!

But all those people, which love mounts and those, which like to travel around the whole world und would like to do this a little bit faster and with more style, than havign to run around always on your own feet, these people (which are really alot and far more than the minority that dislikes mounts for their various silly partwise childish overreacting reasons) – these people would finally have the oppurtunity to play with mounts and would have in the game a great awesome new goal to work on as something like mounts would work perfectly as great money sinks for being prestige items, that no one should get so easily.

And if achiveing an own mount would be hard, then you would ensure with this alos, that the world of tyria doesn’t get overwhelmed by a flood of mounts right at the moment they got introduced.

Together with this, and with the option that Anet can easily limitate the game where mounts are usable (a great argument, that has been told already like thousands of times and seems to get ignored permanently by the contra mount faction …)
Its an easy thing for Anet to program, that mounts should not be usable in towns!
Same as easy like limitating the amount of mounts that should be maximum usable on a map say for example on WvW Maps, that anet can limit the amount of usable mounts on a map there onto maximum 25 mounts, would mean that maximum 25 people on each side you use a mount.
The same kind of limitation for mechanics uses anet already with siege weapons that can hit only a certain amount of enemies , or the amount of players which can maximum heal a downed player and so on … also summonable things like npcs got a usage limit in this game.

Mounts would be a great addition to this game, they need only to be introduced in a fitting way for GW2 and have to be in someway unique for the game, so that Anet also believes in them, that they would be an enrichment for the game and not just only a boring 0815-system, that works exactly like in the countless other mmos before GW2.

One way to achieve this would be unique Mount Skills that replace the characters Skill Bar.. the other would be to use Mounts not only as a travel mechanic to speed up the traveling between the way points, but to use mounts also for other new gameplay features, like for example “Crusades”, which could be some kind of mounted GW2 unique Raid System in the style of GW1’s old Mission System, which could be played either solo or as a group of say up to 15 people+ which would scale up in difficulty so more players participate.

I would so love it for my thief to work on for a grand golden/white/black moa or something to use it as mount (FF hommage 4 the win), especially if we could name our mounts also same like ranger pets

Everything about mounts is just only a matter about how Anet would introduce them.
Fact is only, they would be for them also a great way to make money, as they would be able then to sell special mount skins in the shop to make profit with that.

@ Pwnerer: stop posting this, the devs confirmend NOTHING!!
The only thing they said is, that if they ever will bring mounts, then they must be something unique, that fits to the style of GW2 and its gameplay mechanics.
Simply said, they should be not just some kind of 0815-gameplay that you can find basically in every other MMO out there.
Thats the thing, Anet has said, so stop misinterpretating things into Anets words that they have never said and stay at the facts!!

So Anet is still at a neutral position to bring mounts into the game, whenever they see fit for them.

Orpheal, Anet is not in a neutral position and if you think they are I’d like you to search the subject a bit more because they’ve very openly said that there won’t be mounts since there’s waypoint travel and mounts are trivial and pointless.

You can say my points are bullkitten if you want but they’ve more than once said “no” to this. I’m not sure why this far into the game people are still asking for them. They don’t make sense. Also imagine the rage when Asura’s get cool mounts too small for Charr or Norn to use and then everyone starts QQ threads on how Asura’s have the best mounts and how they want the same mount for their race.

I can already see it happening. I’m not misinterpreting anything and I encourage you to do some fact checking.

Post the thread then, where Anet officially says, that they will never implement them.
If Anet would have done that, as you say, there would surely have been in the forums a kittenstorm from raging pro mount factionists all over the forums, but I can’t see anythign like that anywhere in the forums, where you’<’d kind of expect somethign liek that to happen – either in the suggestion or the game discussion area…

Theres also no official blog post on the site about this official decision, that says anythign about, why they made this decision and what their official reasons are for that, other than nonsensical stupid universal excuse that the game has way points >.>

The search function is here no help and you know as good as me that the search function has a kind of malfunction currently since the forums exists basically.
I don’t want to restart with you here now a discussion about pros and cons of mounts and any nonexistant problems about races having all their own mounts.
Thats not part of the topic here. Its an absolute no brainer, that if a moutn system should ever come, that all classes need to have their very own mounts due to all races having different sizes and body models like asuras usign the Golems as mounts, same like Zojja on one of her Concept Arts

http://wiki.guildwars.com/images/thumb/5/58/Zojja_concept_art.jpg/400px-Zojja_concept_art.jpg
Its small, but it still shows what I mean.

My known facts are old and not the lastest maybe, but they are the only things I can remember off Anet saying officially about Mounts and their stance towards this topic was always (or at least a very long time) neutral never saying that they will never come, as also never promising anything about that mounts will come someday. Always cautious what they say so that no one can missinterpretate anything and only staying clear about the fact, that when they bring them in, that they should be something special and that this will be the only circumstance, that must be fulfilled, what is absolutely understandable also, because who wants to implement into a game something, that is totally 0815 and works exactly the same like in xxx games before yours ??
This stands out of question!.

So help me out, show me please that latest posting, where here in the forums someone from Anet officially said unmissunderstandable, that the game will never ever get in any kind of way Mounts.

Thanks.
