I want to be as adorably plump as this NPC to my right, but I can’t. Apparently her physique wasn’t important enough to add to the character creator at launch, or to fit anything but town clothes to. It makes me sad, and also makes me not want to level my two norn ladies. Which makes me sad again.

Please tell me we’ll be able to use it eventually?

Female norns need more body options in general IMO.

I’ve been looking for “adorably plump” body types for my female characters on all races – but they’re all stick-thin to me. I wanted my engineer to be at least a little chubby The differences between the existing body types are noticeable only during character creation, when you can compare them directly, but are far too subtle – in game, every body starts to look the same…

It’s particuarly ridiculous when I park my ladynorn Guardian, who I quite deliberately gave the biggest physique I could, next to an NPC ladynorn and my toon looks like a barbie in comparison. C’mon Anet, the guys have much more physical variation than the ladies, and some of us want our Norn to look like they might actually be able to lift those giant weapons…

I agree that additional body types are in order. The option for a plusher body type in every race would be appreciated and I support what has already been stated. I’m adding to this list: smaller breasts.
We love our characters and some of us would love the option of having our characters reflect ourselves more accurately. We have a wide array of skin and hair colors. I anticipate more faces and hair styles with an expansion. But the body types left out are the plush bodies represented in game on NPCs (see OP’s linked screenshot), the small chested and (I’m going to get so much grief for this) a slimmer norn? One slim norn build…with smaller breasts.
We love what Anet has worked so kitten and we think an already great game could be even better with a few more body types.

I agree wholeheartedly! I would make a norn woman in an instant if I could make her chubby.
My guardian was originally intended to be a fierce norn, but because they all looked so much like Barbie dolls, I changed her race.

Also, I bet some fool is going to come on this thread and say “Oh, but people who adventure wouldn’t be fat, they have to be fit hurp-durp”
Which is idiotic, because fat people CAN be very fit. Also, it’s more realistic to have a warrior with some chub, or a beer belly, or something—then one who is anorexic, one who has breast implants, or one with heavy makeup and perfect skin.
