Adding more end-game content by enchanting!
I’ve played many many games with this sort of system.
It’s a terrible idea. Please to god no. Please no.
I’d explain why but it brings up a lot of terrible memories.
ummm scaling is good in low level areas! Because slaughtering every foe in one hit isn’t fun (except bunnies! we need 1 hit bunny kills)
Commander on Fort Aspenwood Server
@Castaliea.3156 – Terrible memories such as? -.-´
@thereturnedhero.3284 – If you read my suggestion it wouldn’t exactly make you Overpowered but it would make level 80 (actually, level 200+ or something) actually feel and be more powerful during dungeons and stuff.
I absolutely love the idea of +1 +2 +3 ect gear, but it also doesn’t work well. Take Neverwinter for example, GW2 has done a great job keeping everyone level playing field and easier to get to such said position.
Awful idea. DO NOT IMPLEMENT.
I agree and we should put this guy in GW2 to help teach us how to perform…
ENCHANTMENT!
I thought Runes / Sigils / Orbs etc were the equivalent?
@Lord Vem.8649 – You’re the second that come here saying “awful idea” or “bad idea”, and i like that you say that but i’d love to have your OPINION rather than your empty words.
@Cloud.7613 – Yeah, that’s why making it % wise and not upgrading everything to the point you deal absurds amounts of damage to lower level mobs/bosses would make everything kinda work, i think.
@Zacchary.6183 – where the heck does that image come from? He seems disturbingly calm for his wounds… seems like a character from Fallout.
@Jemmi.6058 – Not really, runes/sigils/orbs help to counterbalance your build or maximize the focus of your build and they dont really make much difference when you’re scaled down.
As a side note, imagine it this way… Exotic items could be enchanted up to +5 and legendary items could be enchanted to +10. THIS i bet would bring a lot of players back to guild wars 2 and this way there would really be a reason, other than bragging rights to making legendary weapons. I’m sure it would make Anet pretty happy moneywise and playbase wise.

Awful idea because at lvl 80 endgame you don’t need to deal more damage to lvl 1-75 mobs. They fall pretty easy anyway. A level 10 character would not be happy to see some twinked lvl 80 come along and make him feel insignificant in the lvl 10 zone by 1 shotting everything. Also soloing dungeons would be just awful. The whole point of them is TEAMWORK!!!
Meh, I don’t agree, a new thing to farm for, I like GW2 how it is, I didn’t like when they released ascended gear, and adding these enchantments is just adding a new gear tier.
@Lord Vem.8649 – People saying “one shotting everything” means you didn’t read my suggestions, next.
@wouw.5837 – Okay, why not?
/sigh. It was a hyperbole…
@Zacchary.6183 – where the heck does that image come from? He seems disturbingly calm for his wounds… seems like a character from Fallout.
Dragon Age Origins. And that is darkspawn blood on his face.

You already are powerful in dungeons like ac. If you played since launch (off and on I know) you probably did Ac as soon as you could. Was it not a little difficult the first time? How was it after you came back multiple levels later? Gear is only a part of what makes high levels strong, it’s mostly their skill’s, sigils, runes, and traits. These things affect you at any level scaling (the effects may be dumbed down a lil) and make low level zones a breeze. Any further and low level zones/dungeons become obsolete.
On my valk thief in wayfarer I can 1 shot mobs with my bs. I don’t need anymore boosts that just turn mobs to dust.
And I’m sure I won’t be the last one to say this, legendaries are cosmetics. Not bonuses. If you add any sort of exclusive bonus to them people WILL leave, they play gw2 to get away from gear treadmills and the old ways..
break. I feel like they should be back by now..”

@NinjaEd.3946 – I understand your POV and it’s actually quite the way i feel about it, however, you couldn’t even possibly think about 2 maning a dungeon on GW2 which is something so awesome and cool, even more soloing a dungeon… there just isn’t much interest beyond aesthetical aspects and bragging rights when it comes to spending over 200+h for, for instance, farming a sword and then realize a sword worth, litteraly, 2000x less being EXACTLY as effective as your 9g sword.
Low level dungeons becoming obsolete isn’t true as i said increasing by percentage your dmg when enhancing, so you wouldn’t exactly sit back, eat a bag of chips and solo AC or CoF. As i said, and i quote:
“Say, you deal 10k dmg with a skill on a mob with a +0 weapon, with a +5 weapon you would deal 10k dmg + from +2.5% dmg to lv80 mobs to +20% dmg to lv1 mobs.”
I don’t think it would make everything lower level or even high level any kind of a breeze to do. ;P
I know you are used to enhancing equipment and become utterly OP, although i am suggesting granting a bonus, not as absurd, when enhancing such as % dmg and % dmg reduction. Think of it somehow as the agony resistance in FotM. The more times you do it, the more resistance against it you get.

How about no…
Last game I played had an upgrade system. 10% to upgrade your gear,
cost: 1 day worth of grinding
importance: required
I don’t see the need for this…you want it, go play another game that has it.
Does not compute… Engrish no… English pliz.
