At the Moment there is no reason to actually Play dungeon and stuff because all Content currently out is just to easy and since it’s no test of skill you have no reason to do it again. So I have few Suggestion that ppl like me might go again to dungeons.

- First of all: You Need either some Achievments / Titles / Fix rewards for this sugestion … there are hell of challenging things you can do ( fractals scale 80 solo … but noboyd will put the time into it if he doesn’t get a reward out of it:))

Suggestions:
- Add Gambits with Special Achievments to existing Dungeons
- Dungeon Clear without dieing (if Sombody dies he is perma ( similar to elites in gw1))
- Add Timers to some dungeonbosses
- Solorunner add Titles for soloing dungeons( at least for those that don’t Need more ppl to actually do it))
- Naked Dungeonrunner run a dungeon with you and your Group completly naked ( Naked Dungeonmaster)
- Speedrunner ( complete paths within certain timelimit)

Those are just a few suggestions how to make hard Content for ppl like me without adding Content just find a way to track it down and give an achievment for it… I’d run all dungeons again to get the speedrunner with a good Group coordination set the Limits really tight… and I would certainly inveset some time in trying solorunner … dunno if Naked dungeonmaster would be hard but it would certainly be fun…

you could even add a metaachievment for it like eternal dungeonmaster if you completed all of These.

Interesting idea, but I think we are past this point already. A lot of people won’t run dungeons anymore EVEN if they are made 5x harder, just because it would still be a repetition, though with a few other options, but no new plots or tunnels or entrances are found that could make way for some new experiences.

Interesting idea, but I think we are past this point already. A lot of people won’t run dungeons anymore EVEN if they are made 5x harder, just because it would still be a repetition, though with a few other options, but no new plots or tunnels or entrances are found that could make way for some new experiences.

As I can tell from fractals ( scale 80 since 2012) when we first started to wipe and coulnd’t faceroll everything at lvl 64 you start to look at new strategies and mechanics and look completly new at the dungeon itself…

As far as my experience goes .. everytime you actually wipe and die and have a challenge to complete you enjoy the Content more since you not facerolling it…

It’s the fact that you want an achievment and put hard effort in Group Combos thoughts ect to get it … sure speedrun will be about Speed/skip / dmg but still you might bring a full buffing boon guard with you or ele to be faster as with 5 wars you will swap out clases and see what is the best to complete the dungeon without dieing.. maybe Support ele gets a spot again:)

I really like many of your ideas, really cool. But I think achiev points at this moments it`s ridiculous pointless. There is about 18 points per day to do daily. It is INSANE.
18×30 = 540 points per month. I think they should give you a chance to get 5 options to do 5 points playing whatever you want, wxw or pve stuffs, or dungeons or pvp.

I become a hardcore player because I need to stay in game doing all daily, because I want to be competitive on leaderboard . Some days I spend about 4h to complete all daily.

PS: amazing ideas about timers on dungeons btw

I really like some of these ideas for achievements. I’d love to see them and titles for them, especially the Naked DungeonMaster lol

Achievement points have sadly become more or less a joke, with so many tied to zerg-content and fetch type living stories, but additions like these would be great fun.

I know but tbh I actually hope for a leaderboard that Comes without dailies / mothly rewards as an extra ( since it’d be possible) and I love the perm achievments just for the sake of having all of them…

Some things like Liadri light up the dark… no title nothing still loads of ppl including me did it for the sake of have it done… so I prefer a title ( naked dungeonmaster, speedrunner , solodungeneer, eternal dungeonmaster or whater) but I’d still go for it if there even is an achiev without title… I think a mix would be nice … maybe even a Special item to the harder one… it be nice to finally have someday a Special Skin or somthing for harder Content … I mean liadri was given for beating her not light up so not tooo Special.. Fractal weapons drop at 20 ( witch is easy ) not 60+ … but this is off Topic:)

I think you right about leaderboard without daily. It`s really sux on the way it is.

I’m all for challenging but when you’re replacing content we have now with new “harder” content that’s where we’re gonna have a problem.

P.S. I think the new TA path is the first piece of real challenging content we’ve had since release.

From my understanding, Gambits do not ‘replace’ anything, they are optional for people who want a little more challenge from a dungeon. Makes sense, if you run something too many times it gets predictable and easy, so you want to up the ante!

I think the Problem would be solved if they would just look at permanet Points on a seperate leaderboard. So ppl who are totally in for doing dailies grind all day can do it. and the rest just don’t have to care at all.

btw tyvm for the reddit post there.. think it’s a start in the right direction since it makes existing Content harder / and doens’t take it away from casual Gamers.. ( maybe even the timer could be a gauntlet) the way to make dungeons harder over gauntlets is smart! I hope they will add more like 2 man down to dungeons would be nice than again this woulnd’t work for all dungeons. Still I hope for the best that this will be permanent stuff coming to all existing dungeons!

I dont like the idea of adding gambits to dungeons. People will demand and receive increased rewards for it and discover some Dunwell combination for dungeons that ignores the added risk for free extra rewards.

I don’t know man for some reason I think most people want EASIER content not harder.

I mean look at Queensdale for example. Why do a good number of the population play there? It’s not just because of the champ trains, there were mass people there over the other maps before champs dropped good loot.

The way I see it most people don’t like playing in the other maps because:

1 – The monsters take longer to kill solo due to their extra HP pools.
2 – The monsters have a lot more annoying control skills which again delay kills.
3 – The monsters are grouped up a lot more which can become a problem if you are solo, usually again it’s just slower kills.

4 – They like the social aspect of mmos, and talking in combat can get you killed if you take your time if even just for a split second to type what you are saying. Again Queensdale is VERY fast kills, which makes it easier to talk/kill at the same time, less risk – more fun.

Maybe it’s just me but again I say I think most players actually want easier. I don’t think they want it easier because they find the current content too hard but I don’t know maybe it just makes it more fun?

PS, I know this kind of sounds off topic since I didn’t go into dungeons, but really the players who play those really do it for the rewards not really “fun”. The challenge is gone once you find out how to do it and since everyone and their dog these days goes the Berserker road I guess I can see why you want it “harder”. Maybe you all just shot yourself in the foot lol?

Pretty much this.

I do think however a extra few achievements here and there wouldnt do any harm. Where as pure dungeon runners are now a little niche in this game, i dont see why they cannot receive more challenges, as long as achievement point rewards are the only thing other people who dont play dungeons miss out on.

Im gonna go out on a limb and assume that anet plans to remake at least 1 path from every dungeon, hopefully along the dificulty of TAs new F/U.
This is as far as it will go though. Anything extra would NEED to be new dungeons or new paths, simply because the community is getting fed up of repeating the same experiences again and again, whether the boss has one or two new mechanics or not. Even if anet had new challenges, new achievements and even new sparkly loot for players to chase, you would still see threads titled ‘PVE is boring in this game’.

So in my eyes theres a few options only;

1. Remake or add one new path to every existing dungeon, make it challenging well geared 80 only content, once complete the community would deem the paths as elite paths and a sub community of endgame players will form (as long as this doesnt divide again i feel it do the manifesto justice while keeping players who are looking for pve endgame happy). As we have seen with TA, this does work in getting people interested again, but heres the thing, its a temporary solution.

2. Add new 80 only dungeons in to attract a bigger PVE audience. This is the best option, simply because players love new experiences and challenges. Dungeon runners that have given this game up would actually reinstall and play again if a new perma dungeon were implemented. 3 new paths of hard content is alot better than a remake of one path.
