Ok so, i hate PVE, i never ran a fractal, but i want my ascended gear for WvW it would be nice for casual players like me who works and have limited time to play, to have access to top of the line gear by buying gems using real money i would pay up to 300$ for them if necesary, i think many other playes who don’t really have time to farm the fractals or don’t even like that hadcore farming concept would do the same.
I think it is ok to give WoW kids something to farm but i don’t think is right to force the non Wow players to do it aswell. I just wanna do WvW, so make the ascended gear buyable by badges or real money, u are ruining the game… If we want to play WoW we would just do it, think about that.

Added note PtW is talking more about being only able to buy something with real money and nothing else to be the best in the game. As things stand with the gem system it cant be PtW because gold can become gems and all the gear you get in the game can be gotten with out gems at all.

I agree Legendary weapons or stuff like that are rewards for dedicated players who spent lots of time to craft em, those u shouldn’t be able to buy. What i don’t agree with is farming PVE dungeons to get gear that actually gives playes the edge in WvW.
If u want PVE and farm u do that, if u work, have real money u pay for stuff, since probably u dont’ have time to farm, what is wrong with that? i buy gems to trade for gold and buy food, and exotics at the TP. since WvW gold rewards are awfull, i am not complainig about that tho, it is ok, is the way it is supposed to work, i am just asking to do the same with Ascended gear.
It was introduced solely to stop the “omg no endgame!” carebears from flooding the forums with tears and give them some PvE stuff to do, therefore making it buyable would completely defeat it’s sole reason of existence.
It’s not like you need Ascended gear for anything outside PvE anyways, so there is no need to make it easier to get.
I’m actually happy Anet can somehow keep the PvP crowd unaffected by the carebear crowd; the only other option was introducing new tiers over and over like a traditional MMO, and that would kitten off PvPers.
Still i do not agree with this gear not being able to be bought, it Anet want to keep it out WvW make all the ascended crap not usable in WvW. For example in Rift which i played for a few months, PVP gear was only avaliable for those who actually PVP, PVErs raid gear and T6,7,8,9 gear was useless compared to PVP gear inside the Battlegrounds enviroment, i think that is a much more wise aproach to the issue.

No dude u don’t understand, i just don’t want to do fractals, most of my guild thinks like i do aswell, we just want to Kill ppl and that’s it, we don’t want dungeons, or killing dragons, none of that we just want to PVP, and heck we don’t wanna have gear disadvantages to those PVErs… hell no. I’m not sure about PvP but i thought you guys have access to all items? I only do PVE and WvW. You could get ascended through daily achievement though.
If exotics are on the Tp, there is no reason why Ascended should not be as well. Exotics were on there before Ascended was introduced, which were then BiS. Regardless of any other arguments of p2w, grinding, legendaries, precursors, or anything else, there is no inherent difference between these items being sold and exotics being sold.

I have no objections to Ascended items being changed to make them tradable on the TP. It would give players who don’t like Fractals or WvW (assuming that WvW will continue to be an integral part of completing monthlies) more chances to get Ascended items, and give regular Fractals players a chance to earn more from doing Fractals. (There are complaints from Fractals players who have a dozen or more Ascended rings and nothing to use them on.)
The drawback to this would be that everybody would simply buy Ascended rings/amulets and bypass Exotics altogether, effectively gutting Jewelry as a crafting skill. However, this can be rectified by introducing new crafting/MF recipes to allow Exotic items to be upgraded to Ascended tier.
They do need to make them buyable via badges or some other WvW mechanism, but they should not be available via the market UNLESS they are available through crafting.

How? You do realize legendary weapons are the same level as exotic and over all far worst then most exotic weapons. Or is there something else your talking about?
Any way this is all foolish the fact that you can buy gems with gold (in game money) complete destroys that idea of PTW type of game set up it just seems ppl have no idea what PTW even means and are just simply using it as a sound bits like saying.

Before Nov 15, there were no ascended items. Ergo, the best items were of the exotic tier. Exotic gear can be traded on the TP. TP uses coin as currency. Coin can be bought through gems. Gems can be bought via real money.

I don’t like pvp and WvW so I want badges that you have to farm in WvW for sale on the TP. I dont think its okay to give WoW kids a way to farm badges in pvp and force non pvp WoW players to do it as well… I just wanna do PVE so make badges buyable, you are ruining the game. I should be able to get my legendary with out doing pvp.

Unless we’ll get ascended crafting recipes (and not Mystic Forge ones), Jewellery will end up gutted anyway as soon as ascended earrings will show up. Honestly, the only reason why would you want crafted rings now is if you wanted one of the stat sets that is not accessible with ascended (and i hope they’ll fix that oversight soon).

No he’s not. You can pay for exotics already and they were the top tier gear, now ascended is the top tier gear and you can’t pay for it yet suddenly it becomes P2W. Never mind that you can only get it from one dungeon which many people dislike after endless grinding and xploiting through the same glitchy paths.
Also note that he said trading post, not gem store. Also also note that WvW players have no way to acquire these ascended items.

Frankly, I don’t want to see Ascended gear at the TP. I don’t want to see Legendary gear at the TP, either. As long as people can buy gold with real money, I think it’s crap that they can just spend it on gear that they never had to actually earn.
Since they have included the absolute BiS on the TP (Legendary stats will be adjusted in the future) ; the next logical step would be to include Ascended on the TP. However, as others have noted, this step would kill crafting. Crafting is already in its death-throes, so to speak.
The argument from the OP is simply from his perspective of a WvW player that doesn’t play PvE and doesn’t want to be left behind (in stats) by players that enjoy the PvE aspect of the game.
I’m pretty sure that if a tier of gear with ascended stats was introduced into WvW specifically and no where else, there would be a ton of complaints.
To the OP, they have said the ability to earn Ascended gear is coming to WvW but there are no specifics or time-lines. I don’t think your request is unreasonable. At the same time it would take a lot of revamping of crafting unless they plan to let that part of the game become obsolete.
I like WvW and PvE but don’t particularly enjoy dungeons (too much of a time constraint atm). Personally I think adding Legendary to the TP was a bad move but that is just my opinion.
Seriously all of you stop crying they’ve said when they roll out more ascended gear it’ll be available from other aspects of the game, we have FoTM for some, dailies for others, WvW will get some and i’m sure crafting will to. It is to encourage you to play every part of the game and I think it’s a good idea.
All those saying “It’s not pay to win because exotics was on TP”.. Yeah and exotics took a day if that to make, there is a bit of a difference between ascended and exotics. Ascended are suppose to be harder to get, they’re suppose to be the jump between exotic and legendary as exotics was way too easy to get. I agree with legendary being on TP is bullkitten though and hopefully when they release ascended weapons they’ll remove them from the TP unless they want to mess their game up themselves.

I hope they make every new piece of Ascended gear soulbound so people like you can’t just throw money at them.
One of the reasons I like WvW and dislike sPvP is because I get to use my gear and weapons that I worked hard to achieve instead of just picking whatever I want out of a locker.
If you don’t have the time to put into the game to get better gear, then I say too bad. Go play sPvP and get your Ascended gear out of the locker.

Well then they should limit access to ascended gear to wvw or better yet, make wvw behave like pvp. You get 6 runes, the defence of either light/medium/heavy armor, sigils and weapons with an amulet for stats. Since it IS player versus player in wvw, they should of taken the gear factor completely out and left skill/strategy.
Ascended gear is good the way it is, and I hope they make multiple ways to get it but it should not under any circumstances be purchasable through trade/TP. End game should be worked for, not bought… no matter how much money your willing to pay. Either play the game and enjoy it’s content or don’t play. No one should get a pass to buy their way to victory. Plus, they are releasing a new acheivment system which will in some way (I don’t know the exact details) allow you to use those points to get ascended gear. Acheivments arn’t time consuming at all, there are soo many of them to choose from. Nothing GW2 asks for is ridiculous in terms of stats/leveling, the only time consuming part is skins and titles which arn’t a necessity at all.
