There is an abundance of Black Lion chests in the game.

Maybe you could increase the drop rate of the keys..

But I think that if there were parts to the keys that dropped more frequently, at least people would feel like they’re working towards something. Because Black Lion Keys are so rare and I have given up with the chests all together. Spending money to get gems to buy keys is pretty lame.

I Agree. I Had Over 100 Chests And Never Found A Single Key So I Sold Them Off, For Way Too Cheap By The Way On The Traders Post, Which Shouldn’t Be Available To Be Sold For So Cheap Considering What Is Inside Most. Even After Selling Off The 100 Something Chests, I Now AGAIN Have Over 100 Chests Just Building Up And Never Finding A Key…

BL chests seem to be the “hook” that brings people into the gem store. It’s sad, but what can we do? ANet needs to get paid, and that’s okay.

Personally, I think that you should be able to buy keys for a bit cheaper, or with Laurels. I also like the idea of being able to craft them with higher tier materials or at least being able to mystic forge them…I’ve got one BLK ever…Story… that’s all. i find maybe 2 chest a week, it would be superb if i find maybe a key every other week maybe…

There aren’t that many ‘great’ items to get from the chests. Maybe a few items are okay if you’re leveling. A few are nice (guild influence, magic find boost, BLSalvage kit, perm bank, etc. ).
If they improved the contents and the droprate of the rare drops from the chest, more people would be inclined to pay for the keys.
As it stands, not many people see the chest as worth the money to buy keys. Funny I have never seen an exotic drop after 700 + hrs but I have gotten 2 keys since launch. I guess that was my exotic quota for the account.
