Bring back some GW1 armor skins.
I agree! The armor Gw1 starved me! Especially those of Mesmers and Elementalists.
I want Krytan Tormentors Armor back!

Make finding GW1 armour and weapon skins a mini-game / new Crafting or Gathering Discipline.
For example, the area around Sorrow’s Embrace might have hidden weapon skins from the old Sorrow’s Furnace area, while you can find some armour skins where you could craft them (i.e. The Granite Citadel, Marhan’s Grotto).
Time is a river.
The door is ajar.
Places to find the armor, find recipes armor, it would be much more simpa can make them then!
But I support the idea that armor Gw1 were really great, and I really want to find them!
Left to redo all areas thoroughly to find recipes for craft skins of all kinds, which come from Gw1!
If they do bring them back I think they’d probably do it just like they did with the Primeval set. As skins in the shop. But that’s fine, just that they need to be in this game.
Apart from the vigil set ( which was also a compromise ) I’ve found NO other set that I completely like. The style used for heavy armor at least in this game is very odd to me.
In GW1 I was wondering which armor set I like the most and should get first.
In GW2 I find myself wondering which set I dislike the least…that’s not really fun if you know what I mean. They’ve done a wonderful job with the game, I just hope they give us this one thing back.
Yea i agree .

Note that although im only using the female models im wanting both male and female versions but posting both would be too many links .
I despretly want more GW1 armors, I think adding them would be the best thing they could do for long time GW1 fans like me and many others.
Imagine how cool it would be to go to the Granite Citadel in GW2 and find a merchant selling the armors that ware sold there 250 years ago (maybe as something well preserved that the Durmand Priory recoverd from the ruins or something that someone made either as a replica of tattered old armors that they found there or after old sketches and clothing cuts or even just sell the recipies to make the armors), it would make my heart mealt.

i just miss the proffession specific….so far, dye jobs only set classess apart.
I would love to see more GW1 skins for weapons, GS’s look absolutely rediculous. Aslo I would like to see some proffession specific armors, +1.
Absolutely agreeing with this.
Also, the Profession-Specific system gave more longevity to Guild Wars 1. Each armor could only be aquired by that specific class, which made each class a new experience and a gave each new alt a new set of goals. The profession-specific armors were thematic, which created ‘atmosphere’. You could tell a necromancer by looking at it. Last time I was doing a jumping puzzle I have mistaken a necro for a elementalist.
Along with the fact that aquiring all skills and elites was so hard that there was a title for it, this was what made people play Guild Wars for so long.

Oh my, I miss my GW1 Necromancer scar armor and my Monk’s tatoo armor. I would really enjoy having them again. I’d even PAY at the GEM store for them…
That should get their attention :P
I doubt they’ll go for profession specific sets since this wasn’t a feature at launch. But that’s fine, I just wish we had some armor brought back.
Also thanks for the wiki links, you really nailed what we’ve been trying to say.
Let’s just hope the people at Anet look at the suggestion forums and try to keep this thread as visible as possible!
Id honestly be fine these armors being high end crafting recipes for karma or even dungeon drops as long as i could get my hands on them .
I would love to see this in GW2:

I can imagine it glowing on a Sylvari, would look awesome
Wholeheartedly agree with this suggestion. There are several armors from GW1 that I would love to see. Although, I’d prefer a more faithful conversion, as I think the shoulder pieces of the armors in the shop are far too large compared to their original style.
Although that does bring into question which version of the armor would be converted. I’d love for vabbian warrior armor to make a comeback, but others may prefer another class’s vabbian armor. And the same goes for other armors, too.
Agree on bringing back some of the GW1 armor AND the profession-specific armor.
I wouldn’t mind being able to craft them, purchase them with Karma, loot drops OR purchase them with gems… just having the option to get some of that armor would be great.
I would also be very curious to see how the devs adapt some of that armor for Charr or Asura. Like, say… the elite charr hide warrior armor for the charr. :P
But yes, /agree on bringing back some of the GW1 armor.

Bringing back old content is not good for that games future even though how good it is
Man I loved my Vabbian Male Dervish armor so much, I wish I could have it back…
I do not see how the old skins of armor would be bad for the game gw2, instead! It is reassuring for the player to find some references. it’s fun, and most importantly, armor Gw1 were quite modern!
This is why I find the idea attractive!
Bringing back old content is not good for that games future even though how good it is
I have to say that I disagree with you abougt this, birnging back the old skins would make alot of GW1 players very happy but I think the reason we dont have many GW1 skins is infact becasue they are affraid that it will just seem lazy of them to bring them back instead of designing new ones and that is why I belive it is important to let them hear that we want to see the old skins again.
yes! make them as drops in the new dungeon.
Uglier leather gear then in GW2 and that’s a pretty big accomplishment.
These really should have been in the Hall of Monuments. The rewards from the HoM were a terrible disappointment given the hours i spent in gw1.
Spirit of Faith [HOPE] – RIP
The HoM armies were based on the CD art so I’m fine with it . … Just don’t try using the warriors build on the CD lol
“Bringing back old content is not good for that games future even though how good it is”
I really don’t see how this can be a problem. I can see why they wouldn’t want to do this right off the bat – to not seem lazy but the game has been launched for a while now and I don’t see how this would affect them negatively.
Furthermore, it would really help to show that they’re a flexible company that takes into account what its player base wants especially in a case where this addition would not impact the game negatively in any way.
If anything putting these skins in the gem store would be a profitable endeavour for Anet and a great thing for the players. It’s WIN-WIN.
As far as the the Heritage armor – the heavy variant looks rather disappointing.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:HeavyHeritage.jpg
The male version is full of gaps in the armor while the female one is just fine.
Come on guys, you’re totally missing the most memorable armour set to ever exist ever!
Paragon sunspear armour!
Oh yeah, check out those armoured nipples, baby!

I would really love to see some of the GW1 armors in GW2.
Like Harper, I found precious few heavy armors in GW2 the design of which I do not loath. It’s all spiky and huge and looks a lot like the cartoon-ish armors in some other online games, which I will not mention here. I do hope ANet can do better than that.
The design of most of the heavy armors in GW1 was closer to reality, they looked like armors someone with common sense would actually have crafted/worn in real-medieval-life. Most of the armors in GW2 are so over-the-top, with huge pauldrons that seem to float over your shoulders… Come on! It’s bad enough that the greatswords are taller than a norn and sometimes wider than a norn’s back and probably would weigh 100kg+, at least get the armors right!
It would be awesome to see some new designs getting into the game, but getting the GW1 skins into GW2 via the gem store seems like a cheap way to get a lot of people happy. And it would earn them some more money in the process…
Absolutely agreeing with this.
Also, the Profession-Specific system gave more longevity to Guild Wars 1. Each armor could only be aquired by that specific class, which made each class a new experience and a gave each new alt a new set of goals. I couldn’t agree more! Having profession-specific armors provided a goal for each new char I played, and definitely added a much needed degree of variety. I have one of each char profession in GW2, and it’s gotten to the point where my ranger/engi/thief are all wearing the same armor, my ele/mes/necro are all wearing the same armor, and my war/guard are both wearing the same armor. Sure, they can be tweaked with dyes, maybe changing an armor piece here or there so they each have a more unique appearance, but overall, it’s still kind of meh. Plus, in GW1, there was the whole task of getting to Drok’s Forge, or the Granite Citadel or the Grotto, etc., for the merchants selling the armors — not quite a journey of epic proportions, but challenging enough, unless you wanted to pay a runner. While they could certainly add GW1 skins into the gem store if they wanted to cash in on the more than obvious interest in obtaining them, I think it would much more challenging/rewarding to have to find the recipes and then craft them yourself … perhaps because the particular skills and techniques in forging such armor types had been lost over the past 250 years and need to be relearned, or something like that … but whether it be gem store, crafting, karma merchants, etc., would be awesome to see some of the GW1 armors available …

Profession specific armor, as I’ve said before would probably be too much of a hassle to implement. However the rest of what we’re asking here isn’t too much to ask for.
Anyone know if a petition might help? Raising awareness and all that?
