Chest reward should scale with your actual level
because if that were the case, all lvl 80s would just farm lvl 1-15 maps and forget about higher-level bosses (which actually takes more people to finish than the low level ones).
Well, but didn’t Anet actually had wanted people to still go back to the lower level zones and play? And the fact that right now lower level zones is undoubtedly less populated than higher level zones too?
Also, since Magic Find does not affect chest reward, and you only get a chance at the reward once per day, do you think it will really be effective to farm this way? Would it really be that profitable? Something that you have to rely on pure luck.
Btw, it’s not like lower level zones do not have bosses or events that require more people to finish too…

people would find a way to exploit it.
you still get the achievement though.
And what may that exploit be?
Mind you so many high level people, if not 80, are already “exploiting” LA’s jumping puzzles. If those are fine, what’s the problem to make the same for the whole world?
it’s already a problem with lion’s arch. making it a universal problem would make it worse, not fix it.
And what might this problem you speak of be?
you called it a problem, not me.
i said people would find a way to exploit it. you said that it’s a problem with lion’s arch, so why not spread the problem all across the map.
Never in my previous post did I say it was a problem, it seems you either misunderstood me or never understood it at all, so let me rephrase it:
LA’s Jumping Puzzles and their chests have been there since the launch, and until now they still didn’t do anything about it, this means they found no problem with it, even when lvl 80s farm the JPs daily.
So if it’s not a problem in their view, why not do the same across all maps?
because 3 chests are one thing, a ton of them are another. people would just spend their time designing speedruns to farm all of them for greens and yellows, the market would crash with the excess of supply.
that’s why.
Erm, there IS already an excess of supply of Masterwork items, I haven’t found any that actually can sell for some profit on TP. As for Rare, they are indeed literally rare in chest reward, their rate of appearing are not that high to be able to crash the market that easily.
With the time and effort, Dungeons could easily generate much more Rare than doing JP.
Just imagine it: For 3 hours, you use WP all over the world to complete puzzles, unless you’re really a pro at it, how many can you finish? And more than often you get Fine or Masterwork reward from it, just barely to make up for your WP fee, you really find that worth it?
