Chinese Language Interface
Personally, I want to be able to Traditional Chinese text interface because:
NO.1) I can fully understand the content of the main story of each race.
NO.2) I can completely understand all the “love mission” and “dynamic events” the story content.
NO.3) I can fully understand that the NPC on the side of the road in what to say about their story.
All in all, I hope that Guild Wars 2 is a game I can play for life, thank you very much.
Friends heart for a long time to play it, successor solidarity with it! Until ANET personnel to respond.

I’m Hong Kong player.
I’d love to see Traditional Chinese interface, but judged by experience from WOW (game content trimmed / tweaked to satisfy Chinese government so gamers not amused in PRC based releases), if added Chinese interface (Simplified or Traditional Chinese doesn’t matter), I think it’ll attract Chinese “gamer workshops” that’ll ruin the economy in the game.
So I’m a bit hesitated about that… blocking IPs won’t help because lots of gamers there are using US based VPN anyway.
Then again, it’s also hard to invite a people with ê,é,à,ç, etc in their names
I think if you clicked that player then select invite, that player’s name would be prefilled.

Not just Chinese language support but full support for Microsft’s IME interface for typing using US keyboards by forming roman characters into auto text for Asian characters (Chinese (Traditional/Simplified),Korean, Japanese, Arabic etc.) . I expressed this greatly for others here that needs it to work in other threads, and so far, it just comes up blank or doesn’t respond.
It doesn’t work here in forums either, if you try to type in non-ascii characters, they get blanked out or end up being ????.
GW 2 needs to be as international friendly and even more so than GW 1!
I expected the guild wars 2 can add Traditional Chinese text language support into US and EU servers. It is good for people who want to play Guild Wars 2 but only know the Traditional Chinese. I don’t want to “switch” to the “Chinese version” because I already played this game for a year included BETA and I want to keep my characters in the US server. If you will add the Traditional Chinese lanugage into your support language and need someone to work for you, please email me and I like to do it. Please consider it and I believed you will have new customers from the market of Traditional Chinese language.

it would be convenient for me if gw2 supports mandarin fonts.
at least i would be able to communicate with the ones who type in mandarin.
i am from Malaysia
using the english client, english language.
i can read and type in mandarin though
I’ve made the same request a few months ago, and for sure I would love to have a Traditional Chinese Interface.
Since the online-gaming market in Taiwan is very competitive, I think that Guild Wars 2 will dominate once the Chinese Interface is released.
In 2012 research , Taiwanese player ( including PC, TV ,and mobile games ) from thirteen to sixty-five years old sum up as 750 million people ,and online-game players average 250 million. This data hasn’t changed for years since Lineage and Diablo II published in TW years ago.
And for we had great confidence on GW2, we thought it would be great if you look this market in the eye.
p.s. I’m a Taiwanese player and I think we don’t need to make this issue political, even if you see Taiwan and China as one, you can’t hide the truth that we live under different culture, just like HK and China.

I don’t know whether you’re being ironic or not, but there are indeed.
As a player from Hong Kong, I would love to have a Traditional Chinese interface as it will surely attract tons of new players from Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Though, I would probably stick with English interface.

Except for the fact that Chinese Guild Wars 2 is completely separated from the original, they’re based on different servers, players can’t even transfer their original account there. Or perhaps you’re just hating the players for wanting more options so they could get even more into the game?
Seriously though, if Anet and KongZhong are working together to create the Chinese version, it’d be easy to add language options for the original server using the translated scripts. Furthermore, NCSoft partially owns ArenaNet, and they have said that Japanese and Korean interface are also being worked on at the same time, so it’s not only the Taiwanese/Chinese players that want different language options. So how about you starting to get over the fact that your American MMO is being played and appreciated by people all over the world?

^ And yet there could turn up other issues with adding Chinese into the EU/NA versions of the game.
People WILL start using Chinese in chat, which would be completely unreadable to the vast majority of the players and could lead to quite a bit of annoyance from both sides (just try to type something in German, French or Spanish (or even languages not supported at all on any marked servers) on a non-marked server and see what happens).

Hmm, so if the population is 23 millions, how can it be 750 millions gamers ?
