I also really like Order of Venvardis’s idea for jumping on the back of moving mosshearts. I imagine it’d be difficult to do from a game developer point of view, but maybe if they could work it so it wasn’t too much effort we could have that as well – it definitely sounds fun! I’ll include it in the OP

There’s a similar thing to that in ff13-2, where you climb onto what is essentially the games equivalent of a mossheart and it walks up and down a scripted section, while you aim at items to get them, so you could do it, but treat them as moving platforms. Different types of mosshearts could have a timer on, or a speed boost or a negative effect.

I like the idea of three different difficulties in each city. Hoelbrak doesn’t seem to be getting much love, but you could have areas behind the shrines. Turn into that animal with some jump moves, and solve the puzzle. Wolves howl to go faster, snow Leopards stealth to hide from enemies. Ravens may be a problem, but you could treat a jump as a big flutter. Bears could be smash things as a bear to make platforms when you return to human form. Completing all these could unlock access to a wasteland section which represents the loss of owl.

Platforms above the city could also be an option, an stairwell of ice, or climbing up a giant ice statue of a dragon kind of like morgan’s spiral.

I agree they should add more jumping puzzles for cities. They should also add jumping puzzle tournaments like wintersday. That would be fun.

I’m not sure if platforming on moving platforms is possible at all in GW2. I’ve never seen them do it in the entire game. In fact, they purposefully seem to avoid moving platforms. It might not be possible, since this is an online game (and tracking the position of moving collision, and sliding players along, is tricky to keep in synch server-wise).

I’m sad that we won’t see a Great Collapse JP now, because it was a great idea. But I’d still like to see a massive JP in Divinity’s Reach. A lot of the rooftops are perfect for some kind of long JP.

It’s also interesting to note that in the last Super Adventure Box update, we were shown that moving platforms are indeed possible in GW2. I never would have guessed that. I wonder if the SAB team was reading this thread with a big smirk on their faces.

So bring on the city jumping puzzles with moving platforms!
