Here’s just some of my personal opinions about what weapons I could see the classes getting. Also added my reasoning/ideas

Guardian:
Longbow-Guardians’ range options are horrid, and this would go best with their theme(as they already have a spirit bow).
Mace(off hand)- a block counter on the 4 that heals 4-6k and a stun/daze on the 5. Mainly for dps guards.
Warriors:
Torch: A ranged burn on the 4, and a fire field on the 5 would be interesting.( Might help condi builds as well.)
Dagger(off hand)-A multi tool or sorts, a bleed on the 4, and a cripple on the 5 would help with control.(see torch for reasoning)
Engineers:
Hammer-Melee power based, maybe throw in turret repair as the #4 skill. (Engis have NO weapon based attacks(that come to mind) that are not projectiles. Also they have no melee.)
Mace(main hand)-auto attack with vuln, a daze and a stun for a more control oriented weapon. (More choice for melee engis, also to help engis fill a support role)
Torch(off hand)- #4 skill should be a burn/confusion and the number 5 should be a blast finisher(somthing like detonate hidden explosive)that also does a good amount of power based damage.(Goes with the class, might help with condi based builds)
Rangers:
warrior-the ranger rerolls as a warrior so he/she can make a meaningful contribution to the game.(JK :P)
Staff-a controll weapon, with knockbacks and a heal?(I don’t know ranger well enough to give a decent suggestion)
Thieves:
Sword(off hand)-#4skill would be a block/counter that dazes(stuns?) and #5 would be a ranged immobilize. 3skill: P/S=Ranged pull/damage(kinda like pistol whip),D/S would be an interrupt or maybe a steath, S/S would be like 100b…..for thieves.
Staff-Completely control based. Eg: Stuns, knockbacks, inetupts, and a move that makes you jump up, spin around and kick everyone like you’re in a movie.
Rifle-Sniper style. Nuff said.
Elementalist:
Sword(main hand)-Defence/ damage oriented (kinda like a Spell knight)
warhorn-condi based off hand weapon(because ele condi builds are lacking.)
Mesmer:
Pistol(main hand)-medium damage/ranged option for mesmers. With a stun or two to make them more anoying then they already are.
Shield(off hand)- Support based, a party prot/heal on 4(in the form on a phantasm), and a condi clear on 5
Necro:
Ax(off hand)-power based, lots of damage. Because necro power builds are boring atm.
Shield(off hand)- Support, eg: when party member gets hit, all adjacent get 4 stacks of bleed)

I’d like to hear your opinions and thought/ comments. Keep it classy tyrians.

I have all 8 classes with 100% world completion. My main atm is my warrior.

I have more hours on my warrior and my necro then all other 6 charecters combined. I find thief boring to play.

Actually i’d rather have offhand sword. I’d just prefer the look of duel swords on my theif.

Eles do need a sword, our weapons are limited, but we don’t need a warhorn, it just doesn’t say elementalis. Thieves, rangers and warriors can’t have staff because they’re not… magic type, they don’t do spells, a staff would be a stick to them, mesmer and necros don’t need a shield, you, they’re already hard as it is to kill, you want to make them even harder to kill, warriors shouldn’t use daggers, it’s not warrior-ish.

Offhand sword to thief is somthing we shuld get i love the suggetions on that, however i do not want another pistolwhip, remove root of a hundredblades with less damage 5 iniative cost, and applies you 1% vulnerablity for each use untill you use another skill that costs iniative.

7800 hours ingame, and counting.

Thieves and Rangers do have magic, not saying they should have a staff, but they do have magic

Sniper rifle already falls under warrior, and it’s the ONE decent burst build they have. Don’t even think about taking it.

Your suggestion for the Hammer for the Engineer is pretty much the Toolkit. There’s melee in there and two turret repair abilities. Not really viable for DPS, more a Defensive weapon set but still. I still don’t really see what people see with Hammers and Engineers.

Also the reason the Elementalists weapons might be limited, well: they have 20 skills per weapon set, others have 5, 10 if you include the offset.
