This forum supports it, B. Lion supports it, Auction supports it, yet the vital chat does not? O_o An yet the chat supports Kanji, which is even more unreadable than the Cyrillic fonts, if one does not know the language… O_O
And yet you sold the game quite officially via online resellers for RU audience… (and, honestly, B2P is the only model as of now that can be potentially very good for RU audience). Even in terms of purely business standards there is a disturbing lack of common sense.
Plus the fact that the fonts can be found in half the system already suggests that there is no technical problems with adding them. Even if you will need to order and create missing letters it is still a very small job, compared with the rest of the stuff.
P.S. As for the notorious “abuse by the unknown language”, well, Finnish and Serbian people for ex. can do it in Latin, and these languages are not the most well-known by the general audiences in Europe and beyond, therefore there is a little substance to this argument.
And as fo the “RU are more likely to…” well… Polish people, they say, have quite a nasty reputation too, and they use Latin. And I do not see banning Latin in the chat because of that. Plus, as Polish is a bit closer to Russian, it will land in the abovementioned argument quite nicely too.
