Anet could you please give us the option of old model. I really dislike the new or atleast make the new more appealing. I spend 40g on shortbow which i absolutely loved and now its ugly stick i dont want anyone to see on my character i wouldnt never ever spend a single copper on bow like that. If it was temporary model you should made some hint on that weapon like this model is temporary and will most likely change but changing it this much is wrong people who bought it did it for how it looked. I could start farming Aether but since its same model as Azureflame iam scared you change it too…. :’(

I agree i would never have spend a copper on this shortbow and now i am stuck with it. i am so angry because i put so much effort into getting it. Its not fair to the players that bought this bow because of its skin. Please atleast give us the option to trade it in for the longbow or to return this for our money back. or please please do more to the bow to make it worthy of what it was before.

Yeah the original one is far superior in visual aesthetics. I vote for a revert to the original as well.

The original one was a longbow, not a shortbow.

I understand why people would be annoyed at spending money on something to have it change to something else, and maybe they could “spruce up” the shortbow model a bit to make it more cool and more similar to the longbow (add more ice spikes and such). But having an option to use the old model would kind of defeat the whole purpose of fixing a mismatched model.

Have to agree that I was sooooooo disappointed to see what my beloved shortbow has turned into and changing a model this drastically for the worst (less glow, less spikes, less size) is sort of guaranteed to annoy people – especially considering the cost.

I concur with the OP and previous poster with regards to a model change for the better as I honestly really dislike this bow now and the expense was horrific.

Agree with OP , the original skin for the corrupted short bow was fine. To just change/nerf the look of something really unfair. Anet did inspire me to finish map completion so I can finish The Dreamer on the other hand.

Could have at least just made it “mini” version of the longbow instead of diminishing all the details that made the bow a great skin to run around with…especially for a bow that costs so much to make. I’m not sure what Anet has against shortbows, but the lack of decent looking shortbows is quite disturbing.

I completely agree, I just crafted this bow today without checking threads assuming that the skin didn’t get randomly changed in the patch today. Needless to say, I am EXTREMELY disappointed with what I saw when I put the bow on. I am also extremely furious about this change of skin because the new skin is absolutely AWFUL.

Please guys, make the new skin cooler or revert the changes, this isn’t fair to the players who paid tons of gold or farmed our butts off for the mats to create this once beautiful bow.

Thx for feedback guys i really hope Anet is gonna make somthing with this i wanted to start farming my bolt but thats gone now because iam forced (yes forced) to farm new shortbow, only shortbow left in game i accualy like is Aether and that means i can give my hopes on getting my legendary because the mats on that bow costs ~350g…..In GW2 looks is everything to me and honestly i have little joy of playing atm because i dont have my favoured weapon anymore

What’s the point in getting a weapon skin you like especially one that costs 60g+ if ANet just decide to change it on a whim? I know a lot of people wouldnt have bothered with this weapon if they had known it would like this.

Aether is also large for a shortbow, will they just change that skin as well because it looks the same as the longbow?
Trust in company is diminishing with pointless changes like this when there are bigger problems with the game that need sorting 1st.

It looks horrible and is a huge kick in the guts for all the people who actually put in the time and effort to play your game.
Lucky this isn’t a pay to play as something like this would mean lost subscriptions.

The new one is much better tbh. I could agree the longbow version is more impressive, but guess what, it’s a longbow not a shortbow. Bows is this game are hugly cos they are unrealistic and disproportionate, at least the corrupted shortbow looks like a bow. Most people’s aesthetic sense is flawed, they simply go for the most impressive or expensive skins just to brag. The greatsaw is a clear example, same for the volcanus. I’ve seen so many rangers wearing the cultural t3 (clearly designed for a thief) only cos is the most expensive skin.
If you want your little char with a huge unrealistic weapon with a dazzling effect is totally fine. Just remember there are other people who don’t see it the same way. I think a net should add an option in game so everyone could choose the skin he likes the most.

No it’s not. The old one was a longbow.
A dev’s answer about this would be cool cos i’m planning on getting the shortbow (to match the longbow version i already have) and i don’t want a ridiculous looking char with a huge bugged shortbow.

The old skin was a longbow skin, it was never supposed to be what the shortbow looked like.

It may have been a longbow skin but you cant go changing it now when everyone has invested large amounts of time and resources into gettting THAT skin.

At the moment i feel Sooooooooooooooooo dumb that i can’t even describe….

I refused to buy corrupted lodestones and instead i went and farmed them for days even if i did know that drop rate was very “F” up… I was VERY bored in game, and this way i made myself little busy, wasted whole week to farm for 30 corrupted lodestones in Frostgorge.
( i could run dungeons for 3 days and get enough money to buy it, BUT this is not my WAY!)

Legendary weapon The Dreamer looks like a horrible joke to me and it’s not worth farming for month to get that ugly look, so i bought corrupted recipe, checked how it looks and started to farm for it… it’s not my stupid fault that no one ever told us that short bow is bugged……

I want free exchange for long bow if we don’t get old skin back! Because i’m not going to craft and farm another one just because game was bugged and no1 told us ! Thats PATHETIC ! And if i would know that short bow looks like this, i would NEVER go and waste so much time for such bad design !!!!!

We have very low short bow choice of good looking bows, and now we get this???? Rather redesign new look for longbow and give us back the old short bow skin !!!! “F” -.-

You act like it’s our own fault and like we did know that this is longbow model… because even WIKI says it’s short bow skin, and than we assume it was correct non-fake page….

And any1 ever told us? Or warned us? or whatsoever ??? I want my material back worth 40gold and 10 gold for doing huntsman just because i wanted to craft corrupted SHORT BOW alone!!! -.-

I use short bow / GS… and i don’t even want longbow, that’s why i went for this nice skin. If i would know this would happen i would be rather snowboarding for 1 week and dump the game for a week!
Because current skin is not even worth 3gold!!!

Not that we lost our favorite skin, we lost trust on some way, we lost time and passion to ever pick the long way for crafting something…

My suggestion is to scale down the size of longbow and keep the original skin! Like we have many sets like this where long/short bow difference is only size!!!

There is no “F” good look of short bow…. not even ONE that i would like to have it now!
Aether is to expensive to take a risk and craft it, since i’ve heard it’s not original skin as well….

Ye i understand your frustration. They should make more skins available, they should let the players choose what they like the most. The tra. stones system is bad imo, is just another way to gain money out of the gem store, and not a smart one. Players should be able to change their items’ skins freely, like in warhammer online (just an example).
Anyway a solution could be letting players use longbow skins on shortbows and vice versa. A friend of mine has just made the corr shortbow only cos he likes the new skin (and i’m planning on doing the same). Ofc he wouldn’t be happy at all if they reverse the bugged skin back. Being able to use the longbow skin on the shortbow would be a solution.

I would just like to say again how disappointed I am with the Development team on this decision. The more and more I think about how much time and money I wasted getting this bow the more it frustrates me.

As said, the current skin is worth nothing to anyone, it is ugly at best and completely not worth the 45+ Gold it takes to craft.

I think I speak for all of us when I say we feel we have been cheated out of something we worked extremely hard for. I beg of you guys to redesign the skin to at least be on par with the other corrupted weapons in terms of looks.

Guild Wars 2 end game content is based largely upon the cosmetics of the gear you are able to create or buy. That being said, it is very important to me, as well as many other people, how my gear looks. I would not have crafted the Corrupted Shortbow had I known that the skin had been downgraded to something much less appealing and absolutely not on par with the other corrupted weapons that are available to craft. We are talking about a Shortbow that costs over 45 Gold to craft, and that many people have farmed hours upon hours for materials to create it prior to this patch based entirely upon the skin of the weapon.

I just hope that you will take into account the sort of consequences many of us players went through when the skin was changed . I also hope that you will listen
to the player base and give us a skin which is worth the amount of gold, time, and dedication it takes to craft a weapon like the Corrupted Shortbow, because at the moment, I am an unsatisfied player, and unsatisfied players don’t buy Gems from the Gem Store to support a company they have long stood by.

A smaller version of the longbow skin would even be perfectly acceptable. Adding more Ice spikes and glow effects would also be perfectly acceptable. This would absolutely satisfy the player base who owns this bow and are currently unhappy customers.

I would also like to encourage anyone who has actually read this to post their own opinions on this bow. The more people that respond to this thread the more likely we are to receive a developer’s response or attention.

I made one today thinking it would look like the old skin i was so disappointed. PLEASE change it back. The skin right now is plain terrible.

I was disappointed about how low short bow choice do we have already when i purchased the game. I could count them on fingers. When i bought the game i said OK, but now… i’m speechless … i think i’ll borrow the game before i decide to buy another gw2 upgrade. I got disappointed to many times. Idk how will they get my and many others trust back.
