Dailies conflict with each other
I believe the thinking behind the introduction of the dailies rotation was to encourage people to branch out to different zones rather than being able to complete them day after day in the same spot.
The dailies don’t force people to do anything. You don’t have to complete them, and you only have to complete 5 if you want the Laurel.
They aren’t compulsory.

Players are not rewarded well for completing dailies in harder zones. Maybe the new champ loot will encourage players to play in other zones.
But as it is now. players are mostly completing them in 1-25 level zones. So the dailies are not working as intended.
Players should be able to complete all PvE dailies in the same zone.
Lol? Says who?

Where does that expectation come from? Has anyone at ANet ever even mentioned something along those lines? Or are you simply annoyed that you don’t get points for 3-4 separate daily categories with a single kill?
I don’t see your point at all.
If I can combine two dailies into one, I generally will (i.e. if the dailies are “aquatic slayer” and “krytan killer” I’ll probably go after some barracudas in Kryta) but I see these overlaps as happy accidents. It is pretty clear to me that the dailies were not meant to concentrate the entire population in one place, or else they would have implemented the rotation that way.

If the player only wants to PvE. Four of the tasks is already chosen for you out of these five.
Daily Gatherer
*Daily Laurel Vendor
*Daily Aquatic Slayer
*Skill Point Accumulator
Daily Laurel Vendor
*Mystic Forgesmith
Then it’s about what zone you want to play in (Ascalonian or Maguuman). But if the player chooses “Daily Group Event Completer” in Maguuman. It does not count
in Ascalonian Event Completer.
You completely miss the point of dailies. They reward variety, not staying in the same zone until you fall asleep.

I really dislike the Mystic Forge daily. I hardly use the Mystic Forge to begin with.

that’s perfectly fine but there are a lot of high level zones out there . Staying in one zone however is lazy.

Few events in those zones is the problem. The current dailies I highlighted do nothing get people into those zones. But there should be no daily tell players which zone to play in.
Players need more encouraged to play in higher level areas. But not forced to choose which area through dailies.

If you want people in high level zones why aren’t you demanding the Orr slayer, Orr Veteran slayer and Orr Event Completer dailies to be a thing?
Personally, if I can’t complete the majority of my dailies simply by doing the Ulgoth chain in Harathi Hinterlands I simply don’t bother doing the dailies. Failing to get one laurel isn’t going to ruin my day.

Event mentor encourages going in low-level areas – so maybe there should be one that says to play events your level or above?
I am all for dailies that encourage people into high level zones, but thats because I have a host of level 80s to choose from.
I think this would be a bit unfair on new players though who would not even have the option to complete these dailies if they chose to.

Because it will have everyone in Orr. I want players spread around the whole map.

Take “Maguuman Killer” and “Daily Aquatic Slayer” today. There are events in the water but few on land. Because it’s not worth doing the other dailies in the zone. When “Ascalonian Event Completer” is in the daily list.
You all don’t seem to understand how a bad combination of dailies can negatively affect zones.

You just contradicted yourself.
The current dailies DO spread people across the map.
I also read one of your posts where you told someone “F-U”. That’s nice. This thread should be closed since your arguments are contradictory and do not lend themselves for discussion because you, the OP, berate others for making comments that don’t agree with yours.
Logic will never win an argument on the forums…..only a sense of entitlement will.

No only to mainly 1-25 zones.
No only to mainly 1-25 zones.
That’s because players will ALWAYS try to find the path of least resistance to achieve their goals.
No matter how Anet changed the Dailies….the players will still find the easiest way to complete them to get their reward.
The rewards for the Dailies that people care about are the Karma Jugs and Laurels. Players want to get them quickly, then move on to whatever else it is they want to do. Why do you think the “best method for obtaining gold by playing the game” is running CoF P1 mindlessly for hours on end? That’s because players have found this to be the easiest way to make money.

Oh I get your point. You just want to stay in your little zone and not explore the rest of Tyria.

You didn’t read anything in this whole post?
Players NOW are staying in there little zones. If you go to other zones, there nearly empty. Dailies are only make low level zones populated.
I don’t see how they conflict or even how they make you travel. For example, Maguuman Killer and Aquatic killer could be done in the same spot (I like sparkfly fen for that). Heck, just doing the quaggan escort near sparkfly fen that is normally ready to be started anytime I’ve gone there is usually enough to put me well over 80% on acuatic killer (and 40% on maguman killer), so that’s 2 achievements I can do on that map alone, you can complete daily gatherer as you kill since there are several gathering nodes in the water or near to it, that’s 3, there are several common group events that happen in that map (tequatl, jungle troll, risen juggernaught, risen ship are the ones that come to mind offhand), and usually a call on map chat (I add a reminder of it being a daily like “come get your daily group events done!!!”) is enough to get at least one or two other people to help you, so that’s 4. Plus if you haven’t done them already, there are 6 skill points in that map alone which would allow you to complete the 5 daily achievements without spending a copper (well, maybe a little bit on waypoint travel costs) and without ever leaving the map, and that’s ignoring the trivial ones you can do before or after like visiting a laurel vendor.
That said, I don’t see how making you travel is bad for the game itself, just last night while playing I noticed sparkfly fen nicely populated and at least 3 ascalon maps I visited (both while and after done with dailies) had a very active map chat, people asking for events and calling them out as they happened (I’m guessing the fact that today is the last day to do the evon achievements of events in ascalon also helped), which points to me that the dialies are doing their job, make people spread out in the game world instead of all top level players being in one or two maps (like it used to be with orr) all the time.

Players are only doing the stuff that can be completed in water. Leaving 2/3 of the map dead.
Achievements are limiting players option on where they can play to earn the reward. Leaving whole zones unplayable for doing DE’s.

Dailies were introduced to get people out of karma grinding in Orr.
As long as they aren’t running Orr events in a loop, everything is fine.

So what would you sugest as an alternative?.
It’s still a heck of a lot better (IMHO, at least) than how it was before dailies were introduced, everyone doing DE’s in orr and other zones even more empty than they are now, which is what they’re trying to avoid, and happens in most MMOs I’ve player even less than a year after they start (as in, all players in the one or two level cap areas, all other lower level areas empty).

It’s better than it was. The champ changes might get people to spread out more too, if you’re limited to one champ chest per unique champ per day (like the zone boss chests)

Your argument is invalid and contradictory to the point of this thread.
You want to be able to complete all dailies in a single zone. Meaning you want for everyone to go to Caledon Forest or Metrica Province on any day that includes Maguuma because everything should be possible to be done there. This does not promote spreading people out, it promotes condensing them. As it currently is, it is possible to have to go to no less than three different areas of the game in order to complete dailies. This spreads people out. Your suggestion doesn’t.
You claim you want people to go to higher level zones. Allowing people to complete all dailies in a single zone, which is your suggestion, does not promote players going to higher level zones. Allowing people to complete dailies in Orr would, but would also exclude new players who can’t necessarily reach Orr safely. This would also be the case with any Daily that promoted higher level zones, which is why such a thing will never be the case.
As such, since there will not be dailies that promote higher level zones, the only way to spread people out is to allow dailies that can only be completed in different zones to occur simultaneously.
You have no room for argument. You are either in favor of your suggestion which places the lie on your claim of wanting to spread out, or you are in favor of spreading out which invalidates the entirety of the premise behind this thread. In either case, and by your immediate vulgarity toward the first person to contradict you, I suspect this thread is a Troll. Good day.

That’s why I said “your level or above”. This would mean that if you only have a level 1, you can do level 1 or above events. On the other hand, if your lowest level is 20, you’ll need to do a level 20+ event. TBH, event mentor discriminates more than this idea. You need to have at least a level 3 character to qualify for “event mentor” as the lowest-level possible events in the level 1-15 areas are level 2 (and there are very few level 2 events – there are only 3 in Wayfarer Foothills, which is fewer than required for Event Mentor). Basically, your options are limited when you just start the game to get event mentor, but this idea would not limit you; instead it would reward you for going to appropriate-level areas.
It would also encourage gathering in awkward-level places that there tend to be more of a shortage of mats (T2-T4 mats seem to be the most scarce, particularly T2-T3) as you’d be there for events. And, there would be more people in such areas to help out with those said events/group events.

Wouldn’t that go completely against the whole idea of the underleveling system?… One of the big things advertised from the game from the beggining was that as you leveled up, the world opened op to you instead of closing down like in other games, where once you reach level cap, for example, you either play in one or two level capped areas or you overpower the area and all loot and rewards are useless for you.

That’s why Event Mentor exists. But there is a problem with getting people into level 20-60 areas, particularly 20-40. There are tons of events in Orr and tons of them in level 1-15 areas, but not as many in the levels/areas in between.
The idea was just to have one which encouraged your level or higher areas, and the other encouraged lower level. For Balance! But I’m doubting it would still solve the “awkward-level” areas, though it would certainly help.
I have a bad habit of sticking around the lower-level areas because they’re less expensive to travel to and they get me my dailies the most easily. Even on my level 80 chars. I’m also slower to level up because I barely venture out of the level 1-15 areas because they get me so much experience with all the events.
