Yeah, I think this the perfect solution for the current ‘dueling’ question. It would also give the players who are disgusted with both WvW (zergers) and SPvP (point capping). I disgust both because they lack the show of skill by players. Give me an arena and let me fight against equal numbers.

No, I want open world dueling.

Open world dueling will bring about a lot of problems:
- lagg for low level players who are just trying to complete zones
- anet will have to make changes that players in a duel can’t attack anything else than their opponent
- group duels seem rather messy in open world
- blocking duels in open world will require new features aswell, while if you have a colosseum you can make it like this that you don’t need a block system, but you can only invite players to duel who are in the area of the colosseum
- the colosseum already exists in Black Citadel! Anet can easily use the existing model and make it a PvP duel arena.

could you be put in groups of five or ten to and when you die your group has four and your put into a new group just some massive war with little groups LLLOOOVVVVEEEEEEE IIIITTTTTTT please a net this would be super great

This sounds interesting, and it would be a lot better activity than Keg Brawl or Crab Toss. However, I would like to see Team Deathmatch or maybe CTF in PVP.

They could make costume brawl more interesting by having the arena automatically transform you into your ‘gladiator’ form.

Uh well that’s why I suggested that. It’s in PvE area, you can use PvE gear there and fight anyone you like, in different modes. I don’t know if the colosseum in Black Citadel is big enough for letting a lot of players in, but maybe they can make it instanced, like the dungeons. Colosseum can of course also be added as a SPvP map.

This could actually be awesome, and it TOTALLY fits with the setting. Destiny’s Edge, anyone? Where did they meet? FIGHTING AS GLADIATORS IN THE LION’S ARCH ARENA!

Anet, do this. Please. Maybe if all the cities have their own Colosseum even, and the enemies you fight are different in each one?

Any kind of PvP is good in my book. It expands what the MMO can be.

Yes I’d always imagine a Colosseum for 1v1 duels and spectators. When a combatant goes down in the 1v1 the crowd would vote thumbs down or thumbs up (finish him! or let him live another day!) and the winner could choose what he want but gets more points if he follows the crowd.
