The Charr have already WW-I tanks in GW2, why should we get outdated artillery in WvW?
Yeah, I’ve been thinking that they should just scrap the yaks and make the supply be carried by mechanized cart (or tank). And you’d actually have to kill the guards driving the thing to stop it.
Not OP, make them 5k dmg or something – I would be happy with just the towed behind version as a camp upgrade; mountable Dolyak turret; would make escorting so much more fun and make it occur far more frequently, there would always be someone manning the Beef Cannon and it could be used when those poor confused Dolyaks try to get into flipped towers, so cute <3 A commander shouting someone get on the turret, we’ve got incoming, would be awesome.
If that would be a bit OP then we could get it at the price of a 10% speed reduction or something.

Only if when the projectile Yak lands, it leaves a giant Muddy Terrain graphic.
I always thought it funny that the Ranger had the ability to leave a giant dump on the battlefield and then just realized that they just enjoy picking up and carrying bags of Yak poo with them.
if i recall Doylaks on GW1 had 1 guy mounted, " Doylak Master wvw trait " were you could use a camp to spawn your doylak and then starting build with supply the weapon pack.

Doylak mount siege weapon / or Doylak transporter to carry group builted siege to deplpoy when taking castle.
Very very large batlefield., i cant imagine this siege on the small wvw maps we have.
Full complete castles instead of gw1 shrines with walls, has we have now.)

1st April joke, when gw2 receives a “balance” update.
First of all the cannon would blow out the Yaks ears if it’s pointed forward. You’ll have to have them pointed rearward. This would have the added bonus of giving the Yak a leap forward.
I’d rather see a time bomb placed on the Yak that explodes the supplies right before the Yak gets to the tower/keep. Big Bada BOOM.
Why can’t we be able to prod the dolyaks? This would make escorting a kitten ring activity. You would prod the dolyak to go faster and that might give you wxp after you did it. Seems like a fun idea xD prod

If you want more realistic, pulling on the rope should make it stop.
GW2 balance:
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.
Now, allow engineers to make cave-ins, underwater explosions and build siege ladders!
Also, a wooden siege tower that would allow the dolyak to move up in a lift!
I’m glad people like my idea! I have a notebook full of stuff like this that I do in my free time.
The general idea is that, in my experience, dolyak’s are only killed if they are there, they don’t really seem to be hunted down as a big part of WvW.
Following them on the same route around the map is kind of boring and gets old fast. At least with making them siege, the possibility is there to make them actual targets in world vs world since they actually have fire power to take down patrols etc.
I hadn’t really thought about making the Dolyak player controlled. It’s an interesting thought. Potentially sacrificing getting supplies to keeps to aid attacks etc.
Something that could also be cool is their ability to carry supplies. Maybe a player controlled dolyak could have the same skills but also carry supplies essentially giving more tools for creating siege and getting supplies to where they are needed.
Make this seige a 2 or 3 person team. One person controls and “deploys” the siege, a second person loads and fires.
- Siege Dolyaks are slow moving. (require constant cover support)
- Siege Dolyaks must “deploy” stabilizers before they can fire. 10 seconds channeled.
- Siege Dolyaks must “store” stabilizers before the can move from a deployed position. 10 seconds channeled.
- Ammo for cannon uses 5 supply each shot.
Have a nice mobile artillery, but takes awhile to move, deploy and costly to fire so they don’t get out of hand or OP’d. Could also only be built at border waypoints and have to be moved into the battlefield.

Actually, the cannon yak or even siege yak is interesting. However, I don’t think it should be part of the caravan yak… as they serve a specific function and are as vulnerable as they are for a reason.
1. Cannon Yaks – would be nice addition to the current yaks, providing some extra protection for the current yaks and/or sent on different routes… like one could be purchased from a Quartermaster or something for x amount of silver/karma/supply… then sent to a specific objective. E.g., one purchases a Yak from Durios, and its final destination is Ogrewatch… it then SLOWLY moves on it’s merry way to Ogrewatch alone a specified path (west of Ogroth) … any time friendly players come up to it, they can do their magic with the yak… set it up, fire cannons, etc. etc. When it reaches Ogrewatch, it sits there, in front… kinda like Siegerazor and gang… It will be vulnerable to guards… and it has limited life that can be healed.
2. Supply off a Caravan Yaks… I actually wouldn’t mind seeing Yaks drop supply once in a while. I think if players go up and get supply from a yak… it would prove to be interesting. However, I also can see the complaints players make to NOT grab supply off the yaks either, like how players take supply from depots at the various objectives. Hmm.
Mmhmmm, yeah why not. Like Azylynne says, the addition of Cannon Yaks are a war instrument is a great idea. Seperate them from the normal Supply Yaks, but add them as a new sort of NPC in WvW.
I want to be able to strap explosives to the enemy yak in WvW so that if the other team doesnt disarm it before it hits the supply camp or keep it will explode and take out all of the supply along with it. LOL
Asuras should be able to ride Dolyaks to fire the cannons… would give them a purpose since anet will not allows us to punt them over walls, fire them out of cannons, or shoot them out of trebs…..
