Don't leave your players feeling left out
I so agree! I missed the Halloween event because I was on vacation in Hawaii! I will probably miss this event because everyone is complaining about the overwhelming lag and visual spam caused by every player trying to flock to a single area.
Someone left their thinking cap at home and it was YOU, AN!!

I have to agree as well. I was so disappointed to see this “one-time event” that I am reconsidering whether or not I shall stay playing this game now.
Reasons for me to look for something else:
1) One-time events
2) Nerfs to things that are not really over powered
3) bugs to things that should play without issue
4) game changing abilities to characters that I liked before but now won’t play.
These events are such a waste of time and effort. Anet needs a new look at this. Stop with these micro events that require timing, organized groups, and constant forum reading. Get back to discovery type events, you know, the type you just stumble upon while out doing other things. Or heck, how about war like events, instead of having to search around a beach for a crowbar….good god this game is just like all the other sleepers.
This is so incredibly true, i might understand the Halloween thing seeing as how even in RL it’s a 1 time thing and there is always next year, annoying as that may be, but this new content certainly does not need to be a 1 time thing…i feel like I’m being forced to play just to finish my monthly/experience this content that i otherwise will never see again. I was about to play but just decided not to. Lately i have lost my humanity with the changes you are proposing. The game felt lacking from the beginning but i always knew, based on how great GW1 turned out over time if i let your game cook it would improve. I may log on time to time to see whats happening, but i think I’m leaving for a while.
If you played GW1 you should be USED to one time only events!
Hi…did you go to that GREAT party on 1st and roenoak? No? Duuuude, you missed a GREAT party! Aerosmith just showed up and rocked out because they were in the area. That will NEVER happen again man!
The game is like RL…events happen that you won’t experience, times change, days change, but it is nice. I totally missed out on the holloween even and the nice back item. So what? It’s NICE to be in a game where world changing events can happen with or without us. Seeing the world change is a GOOD thing.
stop play a good balanced game because of
a) no over powered stuffs
b) one time events?
jesus christ go back to FLYFF FOR FUN when you can run 1000 times faster than this 100% critical hits 100% speed doing 1.5million dmg or something with LOTS OF LAG
oh and buy mmorpg stuffs for 15k dollar per year or something to stay classy…… fail…
this game is balanced yes one time events so what? sometimes a event comes up here and there nothing to cry about if you miss something.
like you said: no over powered stuffs means these events wont give anything really cool.
With the one time left out due to times. Disagree.
My in problem is that these events are supposed to be ‘fun’ but mostly leave most players with a ‘wtf’ then heading straight to wiki.
I enjoy a challenge, i dont wont to be spoon fed. but the whole quest chain could be made clearer. IMO at the moment it is a confusing shambles.

In Guild Wars 1 the ends of events (like holidays) repeated multiple times to allow people to get there if it was an odd hour for them.
Seeing the world change IS a good thing, but since this is a game players don’t have to be relegated to watching the world change on youtube. The point of playing a game is to BE there, not to watch from the sidelines. This can be done because this is a game and NOT real life.

I don’t recall any ANET run one time events. Especially not ones hyped as much as these ones were.
They should have a version of these events as instanced quests like those in the personal storyline, that you can do only once and in order with one character in the account for a month after the event.
As they are right now, they only add lag, frustration and discontent to those who can’t do them.
Missed the Ancient Karka? Grab some friends who didn’t do it either, talk with the “Historial Records” NPC in Lion’s Arch, and the instance starts.
