The only thing wrong with Downed State in WvW is that the game does very little to encourage non-zerg group play.
Issues like the many factors that encourage zergs and the lack of good tutorials prevent players from learning effective ways to use Downed State.

Too many players mindlessly zeroing and too many players roaming around without knowing what the big guilds are doing.

I don’t demand anything im simply saying my opinion and ask what other’s feel. I belive that Anet got Down state so all casual / noobs gamers dont whine evry time the die, but isent the game about skills to take your opponent out or do you thinke its okay that 3 out of 6 rally on a stupid Deer ?

If you think that demanding always starts by saying “I demand…” I’m afraid to inform you that that is not always the case. “Downed state in WvW is for the noobs” (the title) “remove it” (your suggestion) seems like a demand more than a suggestion to me.

Such numbers rallying on a deer tells something about the group your up against.
1) They have cohesion. Obviously, you got 3 of them down but couldn’t finish them off, so the rest of the group is doing something right.
2) They use the terrain to their advantage. (Yes, that deer is part of the terrain here sorry deer)
3) They plan ahead. (They successfully executed a plan to mass rally.)

I don’t trust your ability to judge the oppositions skill henceforth

sorry but i dont really care that much about what my server is dooing i love to fight with low odds and i like to play small man grps and gank manny.

But why is it that 2 ppl rezzing 1 man in 1.5 sec and it takes you atleast 3 sec to finish ? just dont get it..

Most likely because you didn’t get the rezzers in combat, which means they’re rezzing at the full out of combat speed. If you hit them, they would be doing it much slower and might give you the time you need to finish the job.

WvW is for the enjoyment of the ‘many’, not the enjoyment of soloists.

2 people can res faster then 1 person can finish because there’s more of them.

You lose in that scenario. That’s how the game is suppose to work.

And your original intention was not to hear others view points, it was to say that the Downed state mechanic was broken and had no place, and that they should remove it for all intensive purposes. Because 90% of the playerbase understand how to make use of the downed state and don’t have a problem with it. Since, by your definition of noob, that makes them noobs, you’re calling 90% of the playerbase noobs.

Personally I feel that statistic is probably low.

The vast majority of players have adapted their tactics and found the downed state useful by now. By saying “downed state is for noobs” you’re basically saying that anyone who utilizes this mechanic is a noob. Ergo, 90% of the playerbase. (Call that an exaggeration or a rough estimate, idc)

If you do not find that title anyhow offensive, I suggest you research words such as “polite”, “rude”, “neutral” and “offensive” to better grasp human to human communication nuances

yes I am sure you do, and I am sure you and all your friends hate it, although even with your friend circle ( for example ) being 1000 people and they would say all agree with you that doesn’t make up the majority.

There are by arena Net’s reports 400k congruent player base on this game, in order for you to have Downed state removed from the game, you would have to have at least 250k players come voice their opinion. I don’t see that happening anytime soon

Also if I am the troll like you are stating i am then report me for being so, although so far I have just pointed out the flaws in your thought process, I have also pointed out to you simplistic mathematics to you. If correction of wrong statements and flawed thought process is trolling then guilty I am.

I really can’t see a logical reasoning whether or not down state is for noobs or not. It’s just a fight mechanic that adds to the complexity of the fights. So you have to take into account for it. Let’s say you’re doing 1v1, and it’s a fight to the death. The battle doesn’t end until one player is completely dead.

Now, say you’re a glassy thief with all burst and low damage. You fight another “pro” who’s balanced. He goes down first, but since you’re glassy, he puts you down from his down state. Now, it’s a battle of skills and decisions and a fight to the death while in downstate. Perhaps your choice in being glassy was bad and the opponent kills you.

The point is, down state is just another part of the game play. Whether you’re good or not depends on if you account for everything.

By the way, I play thief and I have no issue in 1v3 if the players are not skilled. Without down state, I can imagine armies of uber glassy people just roaming and killing everyone off quickly, and the game quickly loses build variety. It’ll just be “glass wars”, where the quickest wins.

Well, one could say that. Then again, I don’t see too many saying you’re right. Do you? In fact, there are just a few people arguing about the matter, with you on the “remove” side and pretty much everyone else on the “keep” side. Sure, there were a couple people saying “remove” but seen as they left after one-two post(s), I don’t think they’re too interested.

Here is another related Sun Tzu quote:
It is the rule in war, if ten times the enemy’s strength, surround them; if five times, attack them; if double, be able to divide them; if equal,engage them; if fewer, be able to evade them; if weaker, be able to avoid them.

Thus far, the downed state and rezzing only bothers me when defending in WvW. A perfect example would be an experience I had in QL. An invader thought he’d be cute and shoot up at me. Which ended up being a fatak mistake for him. Afterwardm as I was pummeling his corpse with an AC, one person was able to raise him and they both ran away. Now… in my opinion, if it’s raining arrows and you are already dead, that shouldn’t be possible. You should have to WP.

I read the first page… And I can’t commen’t on everything I wan’t to comment on so I will make post about I don’t wan’t downstate removed from WvW and why.

As I said, I don’t want downstate removed becouse I think it adds strategy to the game.
Some classes even have the option to do more damage in downstate and if a player choose to trait for downstate build so be it.
If I go up against 3 players alone I first of all am traited so I do damage to all around my target so usually all 3 get’s hit once I get one down I start to shoot the next one and once the first one is up again I shoot the first one down again and repeat, if the other two does not seem to help the downed player I usually try to fight near enough to do damage to the downed player at the same time.

I only stomp if I know for sure I can do it without dieing and when I do I always go invisible or stability.

If I can’t handle 3 players alone then I wasn’t pro enough to deal with them and I have lost 1vs,me and won 4vs,me so all in all I think it’s all about skills and plan ahead.

And for zerging I think rez ability is the best, if I compare to another game where I can’t be rezzed until someone is out of combat I have to retreat to “homebase” and get me back to the battlefield, on the way there a group of players are hiding to intercept solo player that had to retreat and to kill them over and over again until enough players finally died to be a group big enough to iether get past peacfully or hunt them down.
It’s realy no fun being solo and getting zerged by a group of players over and over again, and finding another path is not that fun iether and still put’s you at risk of being zerged by the group.

If the fighting sides are at even odds it’s all up to skills and teamwork and if you are at a disadvantage you mostly have a fort running back too, if you still have problem I am sure disabling downstate won’t help you there anyway.
