I know that such a thing was implemented in the game that shall not be named – but I still think it was a system that worked well.
I am aware that sites like gw2lfg.com DO exist to help you find party members for certain events and dungeons, I still feel as though some sort of system should be in game – to help users find players on other servers who are interested in doing the same event/dungeon at the same time as you, because we ALL know, that doesn’t always happen in game. And it’s always a pain to quit out of the game JUST to make a party.

Just have a separate menu for finding parties. You can specify if you’re looking for users interested in speed runs, if you need someone that is a certain class, if it is an exp run, which path, or even if you don’t care and just want a group of 5.

i agree. whenever i bring up this discussion with suggesting a dungeon queue finder like ____, i often hear things like, “It’ll water down the game.” or “The community will disolve.” However, I am constantly needing to spam /map chat and it takes a very long time to finally get going. Not having to type “LFG CM EXP” is NOT going to hurt the community in the slightest, and will declutter the map chat.

I understand, that’s what being in a guild is for! Nonetheless, even with a guild that has 20 active players at any given time, there’s a good chance I still won’t be able to get four other players to tag along.

Anyway, the game is awesome the way it is. But it will seriously knock the socks off any other game if a dungeon queue finder is implemented. Not to say it doesn’t already, but it would knock even more socks off.

Thanks for all you do, ArenaNet.

What they don’t want is for players to be instantly teleported into the dungeon and miss out on seeing all the great world design. (even though you can just waypoint everywhere which is almost contradicting to the previous statement.)

I still understand the choice for disliking WoW’s LFG system because it does terrible things, it’s great in a casual sense. But it is damaging to the server community.
-However another game under the publishing umbrella of NCsoft has a LFG system that works great and still gets you out into the world and that is Aion. It uses what sounds like the exact sort of interface that you described

There’s no need for “instant LFG”, one click and “bam” you’re in the dungeon. It should work exactly the same like the one on gw2lfg, you have the name of the dungeon, and the player name, and you right click to whisper a player (or join to the party automatically if the leader allows it).

In addition, there could be a small option in this LFG that checks if there’s any active events near you, so you could easily create LFG, without typing the name of event.

Despite how awesome does this LFG tool sound, the problem remains with meta events. Players would be able to find meta events more easily, and we’ll see more zerging and a lot of more rare items on the trading post.
