I’m talking about greatsword as a main weapon. Not a minute weapon…

Yeah this would be really cool and also a chance to improve the class as a whole.
Elementalists are very weak currently and this could be what would be necessary to put them back in a relevant place.
ANet should just remove the Conjure Skills from the Elementaslist and give the Elementalist those conjurable weapons as real equipable weapons.
Thats what I’d too see for Skills for the various Weapons:
Water
1) Autoattack: Blurred Vision
A swift fluid strike into the ground that creates steam from hot geysirs around the Elementalist, that will blind the hit foes in the near. Causes also chill, if the foe already was blinded.
2) Crystal Wave
A sword swing, that will create a wave of ice crystals, which will cause chill to foes and which will immobilize foes in an ice coffin, that immobilizes, until the ice gets destroyed, that suffer from vulnerability, weakness or chill.
It also removes up to 3 boons and deals extra damage for every removed boon.
3) Freezing Gust
You will create an ice cold gust in front of you, that will daze foes for a moment, what will interrupt them. It has a long range and if the foe suffered on a condition and had less than 50% health, it lets the utility skills of the foe become into cooldown.
This means for example that foes get forcefully their signets activated.
4) Ice Wall
Creates an Ice Wall in front of you, that can block off projectile attacks or foes , until it gets destroyed. Once it gets destroyed, it will damage nearstandign foes and causes bleedings to them from the many ice spikes caused by destroying the wall.
5) Cascade Blast
The Elementalist will use its great sword like a big cannon to shoot of a huge massive water ray at a target foe, that will damage every foe in line of sight for multiple hits and launching them away from you, dealign more damage, so nearer the foes stood to you and launching them also wider away so nearer they were you.

Air
1) Autoattack: Thunderclap
Create a huge claw of thunderbolts that move in a cone like shape forward dealing multiple strikes to all the foes, that get hit by them, each hit dealing a stack of vulnerability.
2) Shock Arrows
Shoots out mutiple missile like Shock Arrows from a swing of the sword that will pierce through enemies they hit, which wil then bounce between targets off multiple times, each consecutive hit becoming slightly stronger. The last hit will weaken a foe.
3) Shell Shock
Create a big shockwave like lightnign strike that you send through the ground that follows its target like a lightning serpent, until it hits, once it hits, it will knock down the foe. Until this point will create the lightning snake everywhere where it was static fields that will daze foes upon entering them.
4) Lightning Orb
Create with the great sword above your head a big Lightning Orb, that deals damage around you, as long you charge that Lightnign Ball up, once you stop charging it, you will shoot it off in frotn of you. leadign to a big electric explosion at the contant with a foe, that will immobilize foes that are struck by that explosion through stunning them.
5) Sonic Blades
Creates multiple supersonic blades, that will slice through everything, dealing guaranteed critical hits and stacks of Torment when they hit.

Earth
1) Autoattack: Ebon Hawk
Sends out a flying Rock Falcon that crushes into a foe, launching it back a bit, that will cause the foe to suffer on weakness and bleeding. If the first flight didn’t hit, wil lthe Rock Falcon return like a boomerang and maybe hit the foe on its return to the Elementalist.
2) Eruption
Knocks the foes at the target location down and creates some hot lava pillars to rize, that will cause hit foes to suffer on burning.
3) Kinetic Armor
Increases temporarely the armor for every boon on you and received projectile attacks will temporarely heal you instead of damaging you.
Once activated, Kinetic Armor changes into the Skill “Magnetic Wave”
When you activate Magnetic Wave, the effect of Kinetic Armor will end, but you will deal an AoE Damage, that launches foes around you away with increased range, so more projectile attacks have been absorbed before. if you don’t use this skil within 3 seconds, int will turn into Magnetic Pull, with that you will pull a target foe to you knocking that foe down.
4) Iron Mist
Create an area of effect, that massively slows movement down temporarly by 90% for everyone ,that stands in the iron mist, even the Elementalist self, You gain Stability, while foes will suffer on vulnerability per second Iron mist affects them.
5) Comet Impact
You summon a huge comet, that will crush into a target area like a shooting star, dealing damage to all foes in that target area, what will cause those foes to suffer on weakness, burning and it removes up to 2 boons.
Just some brainstorming ^^
And they spend all their time making cool new greatswords anyways, which is kind of a kick in the gonads to classes that can’t wield them.
Fort Aspenwood Elementalist
I noticed that too Tom. Why are there so many legendary greatswords and only ONE regular sword? I don’t even use greatswords on the classes that can use them because females look like they’re dragging the weapon around when they aren’t swinging it. (psst, Anet, change how female characters wield the greatsword to the same stance as men).
Also, the last thing Eles need is another melee weapon, they’re too squishy to be that close even though d/d tends to be the preferred elementalist build for its mobility. What they need is pistols/rifles/bows something that will let them move and keep away from the things that easily kill them. I’d rather see a sword for ele’s than a greatsword. A lot of the other classes that use greatswords tend to get rooted when they do, a death sentence for elementalists because they don’t have the armor like warriors/guardians or the distracting clones like mesmers.
Would be nice to see other professions able to wield greatswords, personally I’d like to see slightly more weapon choices all around.
