Game Improvement - Suggestions
COMPILATION OF ALL PREVIOUS IDEA’S
- Make waypoint travel free for all points in a given zone once the zone is 100% completed.
- Allow Karma to be converted into coin. X amount of Karma can be converted to X amount of copper, etc..
- Provide more data on TP for those looking to attempt to craft for profit. People who max a crafting skill can offer a service to those who have yet to max it. There is a problem with the current TP in that it does not show the seller what is selling. A simple rank column (as in popularity/number transactions) for all TP items would be an easy solution. It’s good for buyer and seller to know how popular an item is. Only knowing how many are available does not provide this data.
- Seed the Gems to coin rate to match to going price, set by the gold seller sites. This will not be popular. However, the gold selling market is not going away. For every gold farmer banned, 2 more pop up. The only way to deal with this problem, is to marginalize their efforts by making it, so they can’t compete. As long as there is a demand for buying gold, there will always be service to supply that demand. It might as well be Arena Net!
- Refund all who purchased the Commander’s Compendium and require the book to be purchased by Badges of Honor instead. This will make it so that people actually have to have a large amount of WvW experience in order to become commanders.
- Allow us to specify the supersampling resolution we want to use internally instead of just giving one option.
- Allow for more customization in crafting. Allow higher level Insignias to be paired with lower level gear to create better low level gear. Allow low level Insignias to be paired with higher level Insignias to make better level 80 gear. Allow each race to have their own unique recipes, only purchasable by said race, to create some uniqueness.
- When you are defeated, add a “Black Out” option. If picked, you wake up in the nearest uncontested settlement, and a small fee (what you’d usually pay to travel to a Waypoint) is taken from your money if you have any.
- Add a “Reset” option that could reset: Achievements and Story Mode.
- Add a Barber Shop or allow people to recustomize their avatar for X amount of crystals.
- Preview gear and weapons on the trading post.
- Allow Badges of Honor to be treated as currency to buy PVP type of gear.
- Add a token collection tap in the bank. They clutter up the inventory.
- Let us know who the party leader is and let us transfer leadership if possible.
- Option to sell back karma gear and weapons, dungeon armor and weapons if the wrong item was bought by accident.
- Add a LFG and Trade channel.
- Add a notification when an item sells on the trading post.
- Add First person perspective.
- Add the trading post fee to the total selling value rather than having to manually do it.
- Add difficulty options to dungeons and adjust the rewards accordingly.
- Add a dungeon finder that is cross server, and cross regional servers as well.
- Add target to target option. We should be able to see HP of mobs as numbers and in %.
- Add option to see own name and HP bar
- Give us the ability to duel other players.
- Add raiding dungeons sometime in the future. 10man, 20man, etc.
- Add 2 more skill slots on our bar, increasing it from 10 to 12. One unlocks at 40, the other at 80. Allow us to put any skill in those slots, including mini pets.
- Mail / Trading: Remember last person sent to; COD (Cash on Delivery); Player to player trading in person
Cont
- Future upgrades:
- Mounts
- Diplomacy/Reputation system similar to Vanguard Saga of Heroes.
- Alternate Advancement system at level 80, to help create unique avatars.
- Player Housing. Guild Halls; allow Guild Halls to be upgraded into mini cities. Offering their own custom gear, quests, etc..
- Skirmishes / Chronicles at level 80.
- WvW Major Overhaul:
- The ability to donate for upgrades instead of having one person purchase the entire thing. A bar can appear showing how much has been donated before the upgrade is purchased.
- Reward players who have purchased or donated for said upgrade with experience once said upgrade is completed.
- Allow players to queue up for all WvW zones at the same time.
- Give an estimated queue time
- Reward points for killing other players, for example 1 or 2 points.
- Reward points for reviving players.
- Create a WvW overflow server. Give all players, from all servers an option to join the overflow server. Automatically place said player on either Blue, Red or Green team. Instead of points acquired; Experience, Badges of Honor and karma can be acquired while playing in the overflow server.
- Create a curve system. For example is Server A has 100 people and Server B has 80 people, then when Server B captures a point, structure, etc., gets a 20% bonus in points. Also server B gets a 20% point increase to all their structures they currently hold.
- Allow two sides to create a temporary ceasefire agreement to last 3, 6, 12, or 24 hours. Can be tied into my diplomacy idea, see above!
- Add crafting gear to the game similar to Vanguard. Crafting gear gives special bonuses. Allow players to obtain recipes to make said gear or better gear. Create a new trade profession called Siege Weapons. Allow this profession to make siege weapons blueprints to be used in WvW.
- Add more clothing items to the store, to be bought with gems. Level lock all bags and add bags to the store to be purchased with gems. For example, if at level 10 I can make a ten slot bag, then at the same level, I should be able to purchase a 20 slot bag for gems.
- Show other servers population in numbers, activity level of said players, broken down by hour. Also show the server guild information and WvW queue times. This will help us when making a decision on what server to transfer to.
Add public test server.
It seems that every patch will always screw something.
Give out your idea for us to test before implementing to the public!
Bring back HD screenshots, current screenshots are terrible looking. HD screenshots where amazing before they took them out in Beta weekend 3…
My only suggestion I can think of is something that others have said: Preview of Armor, weapons, and dyes at the trading post.
I would love that. Granted, I can Transmute the armor’s look with the new stats, but… an addition of a preview would be greatly appreciated.
Fan Story – The Assassin of Rata Sum - Guild Wars 2 Screenshots - Vini Short Story
Make the pet names stay, even on pet change/swap back
Since ArenaNet is alot about accessibility and ease of play, I’d like to suggest 2 things:
1) Since last update with the switching of Guardian skills I remembered why I got somewhat annoyed with GW2 in the start. Something that most MMO’s already are using; let us choose what our keys are bound to!
I’ve always had my skills bound to how they work. ‘R’ I always bind to leaps/rushes/escapes, ‘V’ to ranged skills, etc.
Since I play Guardian and Warrior and they have similar weaponskills, I’d like to be able to set skills that are similar on the same keys. ‘R’ for Leap of Faith with Guardian and ‘R’ for Savage Leap with Warrior, for instance.
2) Favourites/loadouts!
It would hugely benefit quick and easy gameplay for those that don’t have alot of time to play and don’t want to stand around respeccing, buying runes/sigils etc every time they log on. Just because one role is needed.
I’d like to see a way to save your current equipment and traits to a loadout which then can be loaded quickly. So you could swap instantly between a DPS setup and a more Supportive setup.
Stopping the bandwagon effect completely, will be nearly impossible. However, Arena Net, could cut down the impact of the effect with my 2 simple solutions.
1. Do not allow people to transfer between competing servers, until said competition is over.
2. When people transfer servers, they are not allowed to participate in WvW until the WvW match is reset on Fridays.

- Master Trait Eagle Eye – Increases longbow and harpoon gun range. Increases longbow and harpoon gun damage by 5%. Increases missile speed of longbow and harpoon gun by 25%.
My justification. After vigorous PvP and PvE testing, the longbow is the worst weapon for the ranger in its current state (imo) for PvP. Why? In PvP, players move constantly, which causes the game to compensate for their movement in your aiming. At the rather extreme range of 1500 units, I found that a player doesn’t even have to evade to dodge the arrows about 50% of the time. Since rangers only fire every 3/4 seconds, this leads to terribly low dps. Since the range is increased 25% by the trait (1200 to 1500 units), I think the missile speed should be compensated equally. This way it will take the arrow the same amount of time to travel 1500 units with this trait as it does to travel 1200 units without it.
I don’t even use the longbow and don’t know of any rangers that do. Even with the SB nerf, it beats the longbow in dps, condition, cc, survivability, etc. It even has equal range and it feels like the missile speed is faster (but I have no proof of this, I just don’t miss nearly as many shots at long range). Longbow needs some kind of buff, and I feel this trait buff will help, but a more general +10% missile speed bonus may be adequate. It simply put fires too slowly, misses too often, applies no conditions (an aoe cripple that leaves you stationary for 2 and 3/4 seconds, and 10 stacks of vulnerability (the only good one)). Which leads into my next suggestion.
- Point Blank Shot
Damage: 282
Knockback: 400 Cripple 1 second
Knockback: 500 Cripple 2 Seconds
Knockback: 600 Cripple 3.5 Seconds
Combo Finisher: Projectile
Range: 600
GW2 has some issues like most MMOs…I think they could improve a bunch of things…
Here are some…and this is a comparison to WoW…even though I’m not playing WoW and haven’t for 2 years, I still follow their updates.
1. Models/Effects. The one thing WoW does really well is make weapons, shoulders, armors that people want to acquire. Right now, most of the GW2 weapons and models are “meh”. There isn’t much I’ve heard my group of people go…“man check that out…can’t wait to get that”. I think it has to do with going too much into realism.
It’s ok to move into the realm of unbelievable, and GW2 has some of that, but not enough. Also, weapons, armors, etc need particle effects that are better. An example is the T14 Death Knight armor from WoW. Even though it needs more polygons, that armor is just amazing looking, has it’s own unique look, with great effects on it.
Something is missing from GW2 armor and weapons. They are amazing in design/looks but I’m not WoW’d by probably 95% of the gear in GW2 (pun intended).
2. Spell effects I think they need more. WoW suffered from this early on and then they started giving each class unique procs, particles, ability effects, etc. Melee really seems to suffer, like Warrior and Thief. Also, we need much better ground, AOE effects. They are pretty bland right now.
3. Dungeons There is something ‘wrong’ with Dungeons. And it doesn’t have to do with the Trinity missing. We did all the WoW dungeons with a Ret Paladin, 2 Rogues, a Mage and Lock. We CC’d our way through with saps, fears, polys, etc.
That seems to be missing from this game.
Right now, everything feels zergy. Maybe it has to do with the way the monsters are etc, but there isn’t much ‘strat’ to runs or encounters.
Waypoints are a good idea and all but i really want mounts in the game, it would make traversing the cool landscape a whole lot more fun

I don’t think Waypoints are a good thing.
They should have mounts or some sort of transportation between spots, like flying machines, blimps, horses, etc.
Makes the world smaller and you get amazing views of the country.

Thinking how to make some difference on same event. ArenaNet can utilize and modify some system that gw2 have.
There are permanent condition in some events so why dont ArenaNet just widely used it to all events with gw2 weather system? For Example:
Blind (33% Miss) at night
+1s Fear duration at night
Cripple (33% slower) in raining
+1s Control duration in raining
Decrease burning/ Increase bleeding damage in raining
Randomly more enemies
I need to say that it just use in event area but not the whole map. When it comes, more reward with the event. Better than boredom of repetition.
MAKE TIER 3 CULTURAL ARMOR EXOTIC AND HAVE EXOTIC STATS
- ability to view WvWvW scores outside the game ( on a browser )
If you might notice, in the WvW forums every week there is a thread being made asking for game score updates, so having this capability would be great.
- ability to stack gathering tools and salvaging items
- secondary spec.
As someone who does WvW, dungeon runs, PVE DE farming. I feel I am being forced into 1 build, its just too costly to re-spec every so often. So having a secondary spec could atleast lessen that burden. I understand that Anet probably wanted this to be a money sink but for me it limits the players to explore builds for doing different things in the game.
- highlight “salvageable items” / “phase-out unsalvageable items” in your inventory when double clicking the salvage kits.
- copy, paste and highlight other player’s text in Chat
- player should not be able to log out while in combat.
- grace period when a player gets disconnected while in WvW.
Its just frustrating to get WvW after several mins/ hrs of queuing and suddenly your game crashes.
- ability to buy more than 250 items with one click ( atleast raise max to 1000 )
- discovered non-random recipes in the mystic forge should be known/listed.
There are times when you discover a exotic weapon recipe, after several days, lets say you want to make another. You’d probably forget how you made the recipe. You had to search it on the net again.
SoR
Couple of things.
1. Footsteps are still very loud.
2. Would like pet names that actually stay with each pet.
3. Respawn rate needs to be higher. You go in a cave to get a poi or a vista, by the time you are done all the guys you killed on the way in are back so you have to kill them on the way out.
4. Run a little faster and not get slowed when some enemy attacks you as you are just moving to the next poi or vista. Or trying to jump to get a vista, but by the time you kill the 3 ghosts the 1st one re-spawn again and you are slowed as you are in combat and cannot make the jump.
5. Waypoints and armor repair are way too expensive. What about putting a repair person at each waypoint. Sometimes doing an event with limited players involved – you have to go to a waypoint to get repaired then another waypoint to get back to the event. Maybe no coins for a waypoint in the same area like the towns, or a standard 25 coins for each in an area and 50 coins to go to another area. By the time you have to buy the 3rd trait book you have no coins left.
6. More Black Lion Chest key drops. Have a lot of chests but no keys.
7. Reward for completing an area that your char can actually use instead of heavy armor that your med armor char cannot use or vice versa.
8. The Bank “tellers” in Divinty Reach are hard to open. Too many people standing in front of them hard to target.
And Guild Halls – are we going to get them.
No place for everyone to meet – you have to pick a waypoint – cost $$. With being able to be in multiple guilds cannot chat with them if they are representing another guild.
Need a home to go to when you sign off, and a place to visit.
WvWvW is really something that many people consider very important – would love to see possibility to gain via API or something two things which could be reported on e.g. forums on internet
1. current status of overall score and coming points
2. Map status of all borderlands and EB
They should put in something like a person you talk to or something that lets you change the name of your guild and guild tag for a price
I like this game, but something needs to be done about replay and endgame entertainment value. This game has some really good things going for it, but it’s very lacking in other ways.
Pros:
- the world is great, it’s the best I’ve seen, and the only thing that could make it better is if it was not zoned, which in my opinion ruins a certain amount of immersion and makes it feel smaller than it really is.
- some of the classes are pretty fun, for a while.
Cons – going to have to split this into 2 posts…
- Character progression is lacking. After you get your weapon skills unlocked by level 5, you’ve pretty much seen all you’re going to see except a bit more damage later on. You get a few cool traits that generally have long to very long cooldowns. For the most part you are using the same bread and butter moves from lvl 5 on, with a few minor tweaks. You get the good stuff early on and don’t have much to look forward to after that.
- Events are generally lame, especially at 80. Alot of events are pretty much just a gimme. You stand and spam your AOE hoping to hit as many mobs as possible and pick up loot. Either you dont get hit at all or are wacked dead very quickly. Some events are particularly bad, where hordes of mobs are invulnerable until they get to a particular spot, and the zerg waits there to spam. Some classes with limited AOE are just out of luck as things are dead instantly. Or, its 40 people vs one mob that takes 10 minutes and never drops anything worthwhile. The mob will occasionally kill someone but in general its just kited in circles while every one pew-pews away. On those events I just hit it a few times and move on, collecting my karma and free silver piece later. Events need mobs that take a bit longer (but not 10 minutes unless theres a greatly increased chance for a decent reward) to kill, or HP need to be scaled better to the number of people fighting them.
- The dungeons look cool, but are particulary useless, unrewarding and generally not very fun. Either you’re not getting hit at all or you are dead very quickly with little you can do about it. Very little strategy is involved anywhere except possibly in what type of group you take in there in the first place. You grind your way through, sometimes with many many deaths. For one fight in Arah, the technique generally used is to drag the boss back to a waypoint and die 20x (usually almost instantly) while you wear him down. Not fun at all, and I know very few people that have beaten him straight up. One arah run I had with a pug took a good 2 hours and pretty much everyone in group agreed that they would never come back. The rewards were rediculous and the mechanics & gameplay were not fun at all.
-Loot in general is just lame. I’ve killed thousands and thousands of mobs, never once gotten an exotic drop, but hundreds and hundred of rares. Despite this I had 2 full sets of exotics in 2 weeks after reaching 80, one magic find set and one dps/pvp set. At this point there is nothing really left for me to look forward to. If you get any loot at all its from the trash mobs, and its never anything you’re actually going to use, its rares for salvage or resale, probably for someone else to salvage. Legendaries require a rediculous amount of investment for a merely “cooler” looking skin. IMO the requirements for getting them need to be at reduced, and they should provide at least a small advantage other than appearance. 1-2% even might make them worthwhile for more people.
- Crafting, I don’t mind the crafting system by itself… but it’s perhaps too easy. I have 2 trade skills maxed, and could have all of them maxed by now if I thought it was worthwhile. I have enough money now that any new toon I make would instantly have the best gear in game as soon as he hits 80. All there would be to do is collect a few different skins for it.
Part 2.
- WvW is fun for a while and the resource system is cool, but still feels like a bit larger version of sPVP battlegrounds. It doesn’t have the big open feel that DAOC frontiers had, which is what I was somewhat expecting. DAOC frontiers were more than just a zergfest. You could go there with a friend or two just to farm loot with the thrill of possibly running into a few enemies, or you could join a zerg and cap keeps. Here you can almost do the same but generally if u have a small skirmish during prime time, you better be moving on or every enemy in the area that sees the orange crossed swords is going to be rolling up on you. Imo those crossed swords should only show up at capturable locations. Also, if you go to wvw just to farm with a bit of risk, you are hurting your team if there is currently a que. The limits on # of players have their place, but a BIG lvl 80 open PVP (with no limits on # of players) area that offers slightly increased loot and risk to go with it would also be fun. In general I just really miss what other games call world pvp. This game is supposedly about pvp, and it’s pretty disapointing that it doesnt have a PVP server. IMO factional world pvp is best, but free for all would be ok also. It provides more of a reason to be in a good guild… and increased risk/fun while leveling. Some people don’t like world pvp, but clearly alot of people do, take for example WoW’s pvp servers – there is alot of them. Here the only incentive to being in a guild, other than just liking the people, is for a few guild perks.
-PvP in general is vanilla, and unbalanced. Some classes are just overpowered. Regardless if you can evade attacks, no class should one shot people in exotic gear. If a warrior has the right build and is lucky enough to land a knockdown on the wrong class, that guy isn’t getting up. Thieves can essentially do the same thing. I’ve seen one thief and his buddy instakill 6-8 people after his buddy ran in and used entangling roots on them first. Yes this is a good strategy, but it shouldn’t mean that people have zero chance if their enemies have the right build and the right skills off cooldown. Mesmers are kitten with their clones. Yes, I know you can mark them but generally it doesn’t matter, they run/teleport around while their excessive number of pets confuse you and eat you up with very little chance to survive. As a ranger I could possibly do an all out dps build that could kill them fast enough, but that build is not very practical in most other situations. Mesmers dont have to be good at their class to be overpowered, they just have to have the right build.
Anyways this post is long enough, and I hope any dev that sees this can take it constructively, its not really meant to be a kitten session. I really hope this game does well and that some of these things are addressed, because it has the potential to be really great. Not many games have had the apparently huge budget to spend on building such a great world, I just hope it gets put to better use.
Allow us to resize the UI Frames, right now I can’t see the entire recipe name, let alone the “(#)”. :\
Also, please fix the Character Info frame at Character selection. Right now I have “Midgard Protectorate” inside the box, the rest, “[GARD]”, is outside it. This is at 1680×1050 resolution and at 1920×1080.
First of all thx for a great game im a huge gw fan also played gw 1 many years.
Ill like to point out some finacial ingame things I really dont like and hope you look at it. I have made some calculating and this is what i found out.
Things are to expensive compared to rewards and pickups.
About Karma lets say I want complete tier 3 set of weapons. from vendor in like divinty reach. My guard use 1×2 handed sword + Trident + Mace and shield, wich is a total of 4 items. Each item cost 63000 karma wich in total is 252000 Karma. Im lvl 80 now and have almost not spend any Karma and have now 16000 Karma. Now lets say you get 300 Karma for completing events since i now have done all renownhearts. I now need to collect 236000 Karma wich is around 786 events i have to do now to get all my weapons. So many events is grinding wich this game is told not to have? Lower Karma or raise rewards alot. plz.
About Gold. Lets say i want tier 3 cultural armor from same city : the total cost for this is 119 gold. I sell all i get on ah as material or as drops depends on how good things are. I have now 2 lvl 80 and a total of cash 5 Gold. remember i said 2 lvl 80, that means i need to get about 240 Gold to get a set to both lvl 80. Now again I need to go kill things like a maniac to get things to sell, And still there is no grinding in Guild wars 2??? How can you get that much money. Lets say there comes an expansion to the game, where you maybe can gain more lvls to like lvl 100. I gues when that time come i still dont have 240 Gold, and what shall i then use lvl 80 things for. Lower prices or trible gold drops at minimum. Personal I get tired of game before reaching that many gold and Karma, because i hate grinding wich these things truely are.
But again i love the game just be a bit more realistic about the finacial in the game.
I hope you take a look on both Karma and Gold and prices.
John
Please let us assign our weapon skills! For example: Ranger skill 4 on the longbow gets a
mob out of our face. Skill 3 on the shortbow does the same thing. I would assign them
to the same key so no matter which weapon I was using I’d be able to punch the same
button to get some room between myself and the mob.
It would also help for when weapon skills get moved around via a patch
(Guardian Greatsword skills come to mind).
Leave the skills assigned as they are as a default, for those that like it that
way. Just give us an option to check if we want to move the skills around.
Not being able to assign our weapon skills is a huge flaw IMHO and
makes the game less enjoyable for me.
Just two things bugging me a bit:
In the currency exchange graph, I’d like it if there were lines to help me gauge how much is worth the 100 gems today. As it is, when I look at the right side of the graph, I just can’t figure out if the pike I see there is closer to the 50 silver or 60, because the numbers are so far away.
Also, at least with the longbow, I think it’d be nice if the range was increased the higher up from your target you are, especially in WvW, where it’d make it possible to get on the walls and shoot invaders from there. And also not make the enemies invulnerable when you’re not the same height as them, as it kinda gets tiring when you need to switch to close combat simply to land a hit.
Great game, though, and one I look forward to keep playing as long as I did GW1.
(edited by Feliscia Pardalis.5874)
My suggestion is to make Karma relevant again. Right now you have 3 “currencies” you can get in game without using RL money. That’s karma, xp and gold. I hope I don’t have to explain why more gold will always be useful if you play this game long term. XP is also currency because you can use the skill points that gets you to craft mystics that you can sell for a profit so it’s actually a form of currency as well.
But Karma becomes absolete after a while unless you go for a legendary and even then the payoff is so late. AN moved more and more things (like armor from your order) from karma to gold….so now I’m sitting on like 500K in karma and have no use for it…I’m not complaining but then why even have karma at all? Just increase amount of gold rewards and then make everything gold. IMO, karma is really becoming worthless and its a bit frustrating because I saved up and thought I was going to get couple of armor sets and boom, now they’re gold only.
I would like an enhancement request to be able to change the dye for my hair accessory so that as I discover new dyes and change the color of my armor I can also match my hair accessory to the current dye color set. The dye system is just really a neat part of the game and being able to dye all of my clothing/armor/hair accessory would be a great feature.
Please move the camera pivotal point up for Asura characters. Preferably to human height. Or at least add a slider for it. It is way too close to the ground on Asura ( :p )so when you try to look up, all you see is one big Asuran head because the camera is blocked by the ground and ends up right behind your toon’s head.
Especially if you have a Asura warrior who have giant oversized heads to begin with (why is this profession influenced anyway? ).
Without being able to zoom all the way in to 1st person view, I don’t even see a good reason for having the pivotal point between the eyes to begin with.

i dont think i have to say, fix the culling issue assap. its gamebreaking.
fps and latency meter on the ui. especially latency.
preview from trading post.
a way to buy any “skin” you want via gems.
Displaying Distance in HUD
If there was an option or key bind (similar to the alt and ctrl defaults) that when activated displayed object/enemy/ally distance from yourself. This way the numbers on the skills that tell you the range of an attack/ability actually mean something. Also so you can do an ability and not just wonder if it is too far or not.
=Karma being more relevant=
I’d like to see more rewarding Karma:
1. For characters who help in lower level DE
2. In other’s personal story
3. Repeating dungeon story mode should reward karma
All of the above makes a lot more sense than camping DE in high level areas to farm karma. Everyone needs to get karma, so make it more helpful in the process of obtaining it.
Once level 80, different DE should have close to similar karma, people will just farm karma for their personal need, so it doesn’t matter where it is, but it’ll be much more helpful if they are in a lower level maps too rather than concentrated in a high level map, leaving the lower level places rather quiet except for the dungeon maps, admittedly some maps will always be more quiet than others and that is okay. Of course the higher level maps should still get more karma, otherwise it’ll be totally empty. The way the DE chain works will also affect population in a place.
Karma makes a lot more sense if say a level 80, going to a level 20 place to help out a group of people.
Saw the discussion about WP… I feel the prices are okay as of now because there are things you can do to get money too, and it is convenient to use WP at that cost.
But a helpful suggestion could be cheaper WP cost for lower level maps and towns that you have 100% discovery.

You’d think by now you would have people who would check servers for bots. I literally see 10 in a straight line farming the token shelter location, and it disgusts me. Having a GM on checking these bots really can’t be that hard can it? It only took 2 weeks of reporting 3 bots and you finally got them, and the good news is they changed their names and are lvl 79 now and doing it again. Nice work. My suggestion is to have Devs or GM’s at least hourly check for characters running the token jagged circle in select spots. Is that too much to ask?
This is a suggestion about bot control because it is a suggestion post this is the reason I am using it. Bots are a big problem in any game but for guildwars 2 its really early to have to deal with them.
Guildwars 2 bots are kind of unique because from what I have researched they use a clicking program that cannot be seen from the game unless they are being watched. This program if guild wars 2 is not on and it is running will click on the screen anyway if the program is on.
The suggestion I have which may tick a few people off but for the good of the game itself should not is remove auto loot option and also the take all option to make it even more impossible for the bots to click on the items to put them in inventory move them around with no pattern so the bots cannot predict where to click.
That should take care of the bot problem and stop them from just running through the game with immunity. To be honest with the way its being done I cannot see how anet will ever catch them all. So the best thing to do is remove the reason they are there, and at the same time keep the items available for everyone.
ITs got to have been said someplace but the ability to choose what you want for skill 10. if you dont want an elite here and instead want another lower level skill we should be able to pick that lower utility skill for that final slot. I’m finding more and more as I end up having to solo 60% of the game that my elite skills are really not all that useful when adventuring alone. but a 5th utility skill would be of tremendous use for say map exploration as an example for running skills.
Also Global chat channels (IRC style) so we can invite whom we wish for alliances to there for common chat interactions. IMHO thats better then the old Alliance chat as it could cross servers and guilds easily and would not have the limitations that Alliance had with only 10 guilds.

So many good suggestions. One aspect I really liked was the ability to save builds. Now, I can see how having multiple builds set up would be useful. Like when you change to a 3rd weapon set because it suits the environment better that what you already have equipped. That way if you’re a Guardian running Hammer and Staff, and you change to Hammer and Scepter/Shield you don’t have to change Majors one by one. I can also see how this would be a ton of work on the programmers and add to the “clutter” of character maintenance.
What I would really like to see is the ability to set Major Traits for Terrestrial and Aquatic environments and have them switch over automatically just like the weapons and utility skills do. With having just two build options, Land and Water, you can optimize your character and not have to worry about trying to do it while avoiding combat, or worse, getting attacked mid-respec because you can’t see the environment due to the trait interface. This also helps if you are running a weapon specific trait because once you go underwater, you aren’t using that weapon anymore. That effectively takes the points you spent in a trait line and says “Nope, can’t use them now”.
I’d also like to see the dying of weapons, and permanent pet names.

Don’t know if it has been suggested, but we need a roll back/ restoration system for hacked account’s/lost gear!
My 2 cents on this (some may already have been suggested, sorry for the duplicate)
- map: indicate asura gates and zone gates and on hover tell which zone they connect to.
- map: hovering over zones pops up a tooltip with levels, personal progress (%) and/or x/y for every item (renown hearts, waypoints, pois, skill challenges, vistas).
- achievements: some depend on a counter that can reset. These should show in the tooltip the current status, ex. monthly achievement with exp: beside the progress bar there’s a couple of numbers like 23456/25000 exp, I’d like to know my current progress since my last death and not maximum achieved.
- inventory: deposit collectible, compact, show/hide bags should be 3 different buttons (menu is cumbersome)
- chat: allow linking of renown hearts, vistas, skill points.
- chat: custom channel [es. lfg, language channels]. A nice addition would be a full system of custom channels.
- guild window: remember selected/shown columns in roster. Every time I relog those get reset.
- guild window: hide/show offline in main pane (should be hide offline by default here) and roster pane.
- guild window: add column for overall influence gained for every character.
- add stick/follow (in WvW would be very useful), bindable to a key (default = alt+f)
- bank: when double-clicking to deposit an item, auto-stack with existing.
- inventory: add split in context menu of item stacks.
- BLTC: no way to go back “home” to the top traded items.
- personal stories: when an NPC starts a conversation video, don’t play the “hello” voice.
- crafting: add crafting queues when crafting of an item is in progress, convert the craft/craft all button to queue/queue all
- crafting: once a recipe is known, allow craft the complete part from raw materials, i.e. queue all the recipe hierarchy.
- crafting: if a component of a recipe is obtainable via another recipe, double clicking on a component should auto-navigate to the other recipe.
- traits: add another swappable trait set (es. for WvW). I know resetting traits has a cost, but please, for the same cost, allow us to have two different trait set (not only major that can be swapped on the fly, but distribution along the lines) so that we may not need to go to the trainer to reset. Maybe allow buying (for gems) more trait sets (in excess of the base 2).
- WvW: add global “server” channel, readable to all people on the server across all maps including WvW maps, so the three borderlands+eternal battleground may summon and balance people. Maybe allow write access only to commanders.
- target buff/debuff icons: align them left under the target health bar, when condition come and go very quickly such as in WvW battles/Instance bosses, it’s really difficult to hover the mouse for long enough so that the tooltip shows, and then conditions are removed and the tooltip disappears.
About Teams/Squads in WvW
As far as I can tell, in WvW team is “only one team across entire map”. So map chat and team chat overlap and sometime seems confusing. Team functionality should be expanded. I am ok with the “squad” functionality (but we should have the option to buy it “as a guild” and pass it among players of the same guild – yes, someone may steal it, nice!).
At the moment, I don’t understand the “team” functionality. It doesn’t apparently offer any feature save from a duplicate chat channel. It’s OK in Keg Brawl where the “team” is local to a map and doesn’t include all people in the map, but in WvW there doesn’t seem to be such apparent thing.
My 2 cents on how to improve it.
Generate N “free squads” in each map, and give to the “WvW instructor” an UI that shows all free (and commander) squads on map. Allow joining to one of such squads from that UI panel so that one can join directly when entering into a map. Grant a random player (ideally, the first that join) the role of “Lieutenant”. The role can be willingly transferred to another player? Your choice. Of course show the lieutenant on map with a smaller/different icon.
When a lieutenant leaves the squad or the map, remove his title/role/icon/… and pass it randomly (or to the eldest) remaining member.
Each free squad should have a maximum of 25 players (just to make it smaller than Commander’s) and there should be enough free squads so that each player can belong to one.
Change Team chat so that it’s readable by all but writable only by commanders and lieutenants.
Oscura Simmetria – Gunnar’s Hold
[Phastidio, Thief]
All I REALLY want from this game RIGHT NOW is a way to change the appereance of my character post creation. I know a lot of people have suggested this and for a good reason. So please get that in the game asap. Other than that I suggest you just work on fixing all the broken content and crashing issues.
I would like to support the following suggestions because I feel they are improvements that would have a range of positives effects across different demographics of players.
Ability to customize the UI
This was functionality that was so incredibly useful in GW1 that allowed players to arrange their UI to maximize their efficiency or suit their play style.
Ability to re-order the skill bar
Being able to bind keys partly addresses this, but once you swap out your weapon, it puts things out of whack. I think being able to re-arrange your whole skill bar per equipped weapon from 0-9 would be a great benefit.
Depending on the weapon or build you’re running, some skills feel more comfortable on the utility side, while others are critical to have in reach when needed in a clutch moment.
Arranging their skill bar will allow players to choose what allows them to play the most comfortably. Whether it be in PVE, PVP, WvW, etc…

Only things I can add which have not already been said are:
:Hugh Random Roaming world bosses (Not static) that bring masses of people to defeat them with rewards to match.
:Remove some of the waypoints in dungeons: With no sense of danger it makes the dungeon feel less of a challenge if you can just Rezz and Run to win.
:Add Charr steamtanks to WvW: Lots of supply to build, Slow moving but bristling with weapons and armor with each tank and holding up to ten players each.
:Buff npc guards in WvW. Far too easy as they are atm.
:Give a sense of purpose for holding onto a keep or castle in wvw. At the moment so many players just run around the map take a keep and move onto the next abadoning it to the next zerg. Give us a reason to hold onto that keep. Something along the lines of a steady stream of influence and silver coins for the guild that own and defend that keep or castle in wvw. (The longer they own it the more influence and silver/gold that guild recieve)
:Buff keeps and castle make them harder to take: Far to easy atm.
:In general the mobs in GW2 are far too easy there is no sense of danger or defeat when fighting them, buff mobs and an increase in repair costs should help.
Have move epic events like you did in the closing of the beta weekends. Huge map chaning events!
Problem: /map chat in zones with zone bosses are constantly spammed with requests for the status for when the boss will spawn, or when was it killed.
Suggestion: Add a timer bar that slowly fills as the time for the next zone event approaches. No exact time or numerical value, but would still gives people in the zone a vague idea as how soon to the next event without having to ask.
One thing that I would love to see is that the mobs and players actually obey the laws of physics. Such as when a knockback/launch skill is used on a mob in the direction of a fall or cliff that they actually go over the cliff, instead of just stopping at the edge, and end up on the ground after taking the applicable falling damage. I would love to be able to just knock my enemies over a cliff and watch as they fall to their death. I think that this would go well with the idea of avoiding attacks by dodging, ectera, since not only would you need to be aware of your enemies attacks but also of the terrain.
Preview items on the TP ~ Seems this should be easy enough and would be a lovely addition.
Allow players to duel ~I ’m not even huge into pvp myself but this is definitely a feature that should be in game.
Spectator Mode for sPVP ~ Would love to kill time on occasion watching classes I am interested in.
Groups of up to 10 for dungeons using scaling similar to DE’s ~ I am having a ton of fun in the different exp modes and our guild has a good solid few groups that run them all the time. I do however miss the larger format of true raiding and DE’s just don’t provide any challenge close to what the dungeons do. I think 10 player groups would help with this a lot and wouldn’t be doing crazy things to scaling like the big dragon nukes or other world events that are trivialized by there being so many people. Just having more mobs, more hp, and having them hit harder could be amazing in these already fun dungeons. It would also be a nice way to include more people in dungeon groups without having to have so many 5 man runs.
More Guild Functioning ~ Specifically the ability for last time log in, and the ability to add notes for members. Some more bank restriction and access allowances would be nice as well.
Guild Halls ~ Nuff said.
First off, thank you for this amazing game.
Just had a couple of quick suggestions :
1) Currently we have copper, silver and gold rewards for events. Could we introduce another award for the BEST player in the event. e.g. a Platinum award. Make it just offer a better reward, possibly an item extra or something. I think it would give players something to strive for.
It shouldn’t hinder progress of players who aren’t scaled down as they can still get gold awards etc, but it does give a nice reward if you were to solo an event.
It would also be a good comparison tool. You could find out if your spec or build is ‘perfect’ for PVE.
2) Minion or turret health bars on the UI : I know it’s repeating what others have said. But i love the necromancer and would like to see my minion health.
3) To build on the above, could we have a button that lets us sacrifice a minion? If they are low on health and don’t heal, they become useless in the next fight. I would rather destroy then re-summon them. (the engineers can blow up their turrets, same thing)
Thanks for your consideration.
Regards.
Please add an extra option to Fast-casting. If you have the option enabled, any AOE skills will center on the selected enemy. To cast AOEs normally, just have no target selected.
Also, please change the Grenade kit #1 skill so it can auto-attack.
A balanced solution to “Been there, done that”
This is basically the exploration title, and some PvE players are fairly upset when they find out that they need WvW to get it. While I’m not sure where their hatred for WvW stems from, lets try this:
Divide “Been there Done That” into GW1 style exploration titles, like:
“Tyrian Explorer”/“Neighborhood handyman” = 93% of the map (Current PvE content) (Could reward 1 Gift of the Traveler)
“Mists Explorer”/“Cannon fodder” = 7% of the map (The WvW maps) (Could reward 1 GotT)
“Grandmaster Explorer”/“Been there done that” = 100% (Achieved simultaneously with the remaining explorer, could give the star icon.)
People who can’t tend to call the opponent troll, scream something utterly incomprehensible
and finally result to personal insults.
Wanted to post a suggestion regarding enabling of preview in trading post but when i clicked into this thread, I saw this was the first item mentioned by Thread Starter.
Just wanted to voice that it is ultimately a good suggestion for various reason. For myself, I love to experiement with different combination of gears. Thus if I can preview the gears in Trading Post, i would be able to spend some gold there and from there, if I need to transmutate it to my level 80 stats, I would need level 80 transmutation stone. This would mean for players like me, we’ll have to do purchases and this means revenue for Arenanet.

I Agree with this i think if The GW2 team would add a preview in trading it would be alot nicer
