Hey all, what is the general opinion on Guild Commendations only being rewarded to players from the specific guild that started the mission despite participation?

Originally the pitch was that missions would bring the community together in tackling these fun new challenges, but the implementation doesn’t succeed with that goal.

Additionally, people like myself who can’t be available on the weekend when everyone runs missions are essentially unable to participate in the content at all.

Allowing everyone who participates to be fully rewarded would help to spread the guilds running missions out over the week, as they could invite everyone in the server to participate and only a few guilds would need to run them each night.

I don’t really get what you’re asking for.

You want guild members to get the rewards without participating in the events?

If yes, better join a guild which does the missions multiple times a week.

Reward all players who participate in guild missions with commendations! Good idea?

Your problem is that guild missions trigger events. Any bystander can participate in the event and get the rewards (karma, exp) for them, but only guild members get the commendation ontop of the normal rewards.

It would be convenient for players to just randomly bump into a guild bounty or other mission and get the commendation, but don’t forget that the guild that set up the mission paid forward by

• representing for guild points
• unlocking guild missions
• spending more currency on setting up this very event
• getting organised in guild chat, setting up teams, etc.
• finding the target (bounties), taking turns guarding each other on obstacle runs, etc.

There is a lot more to guild missions than to just show up and do the event.

And none of this is done by bystanders – they just stumble in and reap the rewards.

So, in my opinion, the guild members deserve the higher reward.

(That being said, I have stumbled into other guilds’ bounty runs before and sort of wished I could get the commendation for it, but my opinion stands that the system is a good one.)
