Guild Halls [merged]
These are good ideas but what about the Small Guilds? Big guilds would have a huge advantage in capturing and holding different guild halls over the smaller guilds. Also, there are probably 100’s(possibly 1000’s on some servers) of guilds per server. That would leave some guilds out of having a Guild Hall.
I say bring back the Guild Halls from GW1 where you can add upgrades and it would be your home map for GvG battles. After all Guild Wars isn’t Guild Wars without Guild battles.
I like the ideas too, but it does keep smaller guilds out of a lot of content and has potential for bullying. Larger guilds would have their pick of an in-world guild hall wherever they wanted.
Then you have to consider things like, are any of the potential location entrances near high traffic areas, gathering hot spots, event chains, and so on. I think this would just promote more bad farming behavior and keep every casual player out of the game.
What we really need are instanced guilds halls that guild can unlock upgrades for connections to major cities only. Upgrade architecture and build Asura gates to each city and lions arch after so much influence is earned. Simple to do and the system is basically already in place for it.
I agree with Roachsrealm but I really like idea of fighting for your hall and stuff which gives me the idea of why not combine the two. For example like roach said the hall is it’s own instanced area that can be added on to to connect to other important areas of the game but design a specific set of “Guild Events/Missions” that take place in that instanced area only thus allowing the guild hall to actual serve as a place to have adventures and do stuff together and not just be mainly a place to meet/get together and use as a form of way/transport station.
Seeing as having been a GW1 player I truly miss the fun of having my own hall but at the same time having been part of a fairly small guild I can recall how it was mainly used just as a place to meet or to use it’s special functions/npcs but in terms of actual fun other than GvG it offered very little. In short I think if guild halls are to be implemented that they should provide some kind of fun activities for guild members to participate in together when there if they so chose, whether these come as part of an upgrade system (which I think would be a good idea) or simply there to begin with doesn’t really matter to me but I do believe a guild hall should offer more than ease of transportation, access to unique npcs and providing a place to meet by including something that guild members can do together to help form deeper bonds while also giving them the feeling of having accomplished something in the name of their guild and I don’t think it should be limited to mere GvG matches as honestly that would hinder/hurt small guilds.
As having been in a small guild in GW1 one of my deepest regrets is we never had enough members to even compete in GvG and most of us were layed back casual players that weren’t heavy into pvp to begin with.
I could go on and on about this subject but I don’t want this post to become a giant wall of text.

I would definitely agree with Instanced Guild Halls. I would also not enable them to in world towns but have an entrance somewhere in the lower traffic areas.
I do like adding the Asura gates to each City as an upgrade.
The main part which I think I never got across properly is the different sized Guild Hall areas. So for a small casual Guild they could opt for a smaller hall with less “enemies” and maybe a tough Veteran or lower end Champion while the larger ones would be much tougher. This would enable the smaller Guilds to have full access to the content. Almost like the way they are introducing Training Bounties for the smaller Guilds.
Edit: Sorry for taking so long to respond. I was away on business.

Guild Halls need to remain instanced like they were in GW 1 . With that said however I wouldn’t be opposed to a guild having to fulfill Guild missions in order to earn one
Just a side not guild wars has nothing to do with Guild Battles. Guild Wars gets its name form the lore. When guilds use to fight each other, although when guild wars starts Pre Searing that war has ended, and the world even though still separated through the years upon years of fighting do not fight any more.
Remember PvP and PvE was totally separate from each other, you could PvE and never once guild Vs Guild. Owning a guild Hall in Guild Wars didn’t mean you ever had to guild vs guild either
I could give you the Years of the Guild Wars off the top of my head Kaimick. Im well aware of the lore .
Yes, another Guild Hall request thread. This was one of my favorite things about GW1 and it served much more of a purpose than just GvG (in fact we were extremely casual in GvG). It served as a great gathering point for all sorts of events we use to hold within our guild. Now with the addition of guild events (awesome add btw, thank you very much) it has even more potential. Here are a few things I’m thinking:
- A place to gather for large guild events that we know won’t be in overflow. Setting up squads, parties, etc. before going on a bounty or trek, etc. is very important and this gives a unique and cool place for this organization. In addition it helps as a singular launching zone for WvW, fractal runs, etc.
- Something else to spend merit and influence on for the guild. I know we have plenty of things, but I’m sure Anet is always wanting to ensure the well doesn’t dry up here
-initially getting it
-adding merchants
-adding NPC flavor
-aesthetic upgrades
- A system to setup internal PvP tournaments within a guild or just casual PvP to test builds against one another in a safe environment. WvW is good for this in low tier servers, but it is very annoying when you are testing builds against each other 1v1 or in small groups and thekittenerg or a few roamers jump in.
- You can add NPCs here to start guild events like bounties here rather than always doing in the guild window. It is great for emersion
- General hang-out spot for guildies to talk, get to know one another, and RP if they want to in a place where the only interuption would come from a friendly guildie joining in.
I’m sure others and Anet could come up with even more great uses for a guild hall. Anet, I’m begging you to bring back this system as there is just SO much more potential in GW2 than there even was in GW1 for this setup.

Not saying you don’t, but a lot of people do not understand where the name comes from and say, the name of the game is guild wars thus why don’t we have guild vs guild. in fact your not even the one that made that type of comment, so I am not sure why you had to exert your knowledge and become defensive
Just because you spam the forums with repeat threads doesn’t mean your going to get it.
Also making repeat threads intentionally is against the ToS, stop doing it and use the search function
Lastly do a little research instead of whining about something that has 100+ threads

They are already adding Guild halls, that took me 2 minutes using Google and the key words are they adding guild halls in GW2. came up with the wiki and that link, amazing what a little time researching can tell you.
Guild Wars is amazing because of the Guild / community feeling. I really enjoy doing things with my Guild mates (and mate’ess’s if that’s a word ).
I personally found enjoyment of meeting for Guild Events at the Guild hall and have always thought it would make it’s way into GW2 eventually. Having said that, the new Guild Events and World Events give us a wonderful way of bringing Guilds together and doing things together. So a merging of the two would be IMHO amazing.
Guild Halls and Player housing provide Anet with another vehicle to add items to the Gems Store and remove Gold from the game. So if improves their micro transactions and gives them the vehicle to control amount of gold in-game.

Wow, very negative and intentionally (at least from reading it) degrading response. Sorry to have offended you. This is a suggestion thread and although it has come up, there is no whining, but simply “suggestions” of what types of things they would be good for in the game.
That said, please feel free to continue to degrade if you feel the necessity. This is my one and only response to it.

Then add your suggestion to the other 100+ threads that are out there, I promise it will cycle to the top in fact there is another guild halls thread on the first page. It is more what people would like to see in guild halls but your “Suggestion” should have been put there.
guild halls is nice idea.
