Well first of all, my idea for this new profession would be medium armor user that use both magical weapons and mechanical ones (like an arcane engineer).

The profession mechanics would be a bit harder to play than the current ones.

The mechanics UI would show two empty flasks, the F1, F2 and F3 would fill the flasks with elemental solutions granting permanent stats bonus for the alchemist.

F1: Fire Solution (FS) – Give the player +30 power
F2: Ice Solution (IS) – Give the player + 50 Healing Power
F3: Poisonous Solution (PS) – Give the player + 30 Condition Damage

(obs: the values are just examples)

The player can have 2 solutions up all the time with no CD.

F4: Create a potion mixing the two active solutions creating a potion. The potion changes the player weapon skills that can only be used once. The first weapon skill will make the alchemist drink the potion for personal bonus and the second one will make the player throw the potion at a targeted area location.

FS+FS: 1 – Fire Armor (5s)
2 – Fire Field
IS+IS: 1 – Heals XX health
2 – Frost Field
PS+PS: 1 – Your next 3 attacks applyes poison
2 – Poison Field
FS+IS: 1 – 5 Stacks of Might + Protection 4s
2 – 3 Stacks of Might + Protection 4s
FS+PS: 1 – Your next 3 attacks applyes bleeding
2 – Area fear (3s)
IS+PS: 1 – Swiftness (8s) stun break
2 – Turn 2 conditions into boons

The class will be able to wield a scepter, pistol or dagger on the main hand, focus, pistol or torch on the off hand and dual wield a staff or a rifle.

I have othe ideas for weapons skills and utility skills but this is my main idea for a profession that is missing on the game, a medium armor magic user.

I don’t usually like new profession suggestions, but I do like this one. Maybe in your own examples, it is a little close to an elixir engineer, but it has awesome potential if you’d expand the “arcane” (naturalistic/shamanistic/tribal) aspect some more.

Mixing potions for boons and weapon skills? Awesome.

The idea is pretty good, but I’m not really sure if Alchemist is the best description for the profession. It really sounds like an option for Engineers, not a different profession

On the other hand, the base idea is awesome and I’d love to see a class that can transform the skills like that (Invoker lol)

I have to be honest, i hate guild wars 2 engineers, i use to play a lot of Torchligh II and my fave class was the eng, when i bought GW2 my first profession choice was obviously the eng, but it was too different from what i had in mind, so i thought in a way to split the profession in two:

Engineer: would change the armor to the heavy type with maces and hammers as main weapons, take out the elixirs skills and focus on the turrents, kits and gadgets.

Alchemist: Use the elixir part of the engi but in a improved way and mix it up with some arcane techniques.

I’ll use some images to ilustrate where my ideas came from:
