Loot (at least Marks of Honor) should...
I agree with you. I think WvW stuff should just end up in your bag.
I agree too but would like to throw out two more options:
1- Anet mails the loot to you after you have left WvW. Best for those with less/small bags
2- A screen/UI pops up after you leave WvW and asks if you want the loot you left on the battlefield. Or it can pop up after you log back just in case you disconnected while playing.

Nah, I don’t like this suggestion.
I love the risk of jumping in to a crowd of enemies to get that forgotten loot bag and seeing if I can make it back out alive. I’ll take on a hundred enemies just for that one last Porous Bone I missed!

Since auto-autoloot always brings on a bout of disagreement (see above), I’d be happy with just the mechanic for the badges of honor changing, since its not intended design that the enemy be able to deny me those once I’ve earned them.
Rebel, I’m inclined to agree with you that I really only care about the badges being auto-loot. Just wasn’t sure if everything Auto-loot would be good or not. It’s not as big a concern for me anymore since I pretty much have all the gear I need, but it would still be nice to get what I earned. They could possibly do away with Loot badges altogher and turn it into an a number (like how Karma works). So you would automatically (and immediately) earn it on kills. Similar to how “honor” worked in WoW.
The technology isn’t there. If they could do true autoloot, they would do it.
However, I don’t like this suggestion.
After a successful battle, there is enjoyment in going through the corpses for loot. It is so satisfying to see bags everywhere. But what if we have the option? I will still be forced to turn auto-loot on. The commander will just go to a battle, win and go to another battle without giving me any time to collect my bags. This will make zerg vs. zerg even more monotonous and boring.

Honestly, that is what we do on T1. Go from battle to battle. We only pick up bags if its in a keep or something that we need time to regroup before moving on. Otherwise, we don’t stop for loot bags. Thus, if there was some way to get it otherwise, that’d be great.
How does a company like ArenaNet NOT have the technology for that. It’s basic technology that’s been in games for years.
I would greatly favor an autoloot option for either loot bags or badges of honor. I’ve had to leave countless loot bags behind because battle lines pushed me back or I needed to keep up with a WvW group (and I’m not going to be left behind looking for the bags so I can get picked off by an opportunistic thief).
AreanNet has said they are interested in improving rewards for WvW. How about changing this basic mechanics which would improve the rewards for every player in WvW? I have to think that every single WvW player has been forced to leave loot bags behind or missed them more than a few times.

Exactly! If you are with an organized group, there is never time to search around for those loot bags after the battle because the group has more important things to do – moving on the the next tactical objective. They are not going to wait and they shouldn’t wait because they are trying to capture objectives.
Not to mention the loot bags are hardly easy to see among all the corpses and lingering spell FX.

I don’t claim to know how ArenaNet’s engine works, but it would be very surprising if an autoloot option could not be implemented in the game. We know the game can hold extra loot if your inventory is full. Heck maybe the badges/loot bags could be mailed like DE rewards.
