More Healing and Ultimate Skills
By ultimate are you refering to Elite? If so then I agree on all accounts.
I would also like the option to select my primary healing power at character select, even if it’s only between two. Then I could have kept my Necro from ever having any summons at all.

You are proposing that each class gain a Healing and an Elite skill to correspond with each skill type they currently possess under their Utility Skills…
so…
Guardian: Consecration, Meditation, Shout, Signet, Spirit Weapon
- Current Healing – Signet – 4 new Heals
- Current Elite – None of Above – 5 new Elites
Warrior: Banner, Physical, Shout, Signet, Stance
- Current Healing – Signet – 4 new Heals
- Current Elite – Banner, Signet – 3 new Elites
Engineer: Kit, Elixer, Gadget, Turret
- Current Healing – Elixer, Kit, Turret – 1 new Heal
- Current Elite – Elixer, Turret – 2 new Elites
Ranger: Shout, Signet, Spirit, Survival, Trap
- Current Healing – Trap, Survival – 3 new Heals
- Current Elite – Survival, Spirit – 3 new Elites
Thief: Deception, Signet, Trap, Trick, Venom
- Current Healing – Signet – 4 new Heals
- Current Elite – Venom – 4 new Elites
Elementalist: Arcane, Cantrip, Conjure, Glyph, Signet

that would be a lot of new skills for each class… While some of them really do need the extra heals or Elites, most of them honestly have a good selection already.
I’m kinda on the fence about this… it really depends on just what the new skills were to be honest…
Also I don’t see where your getting 6 skill types for Engineer…. I sorta see where your comming from on Mesmer with Phantasm/Clone being 2 types… but theres 2 of each thus filling the 4 skills of a type for Illusion… whereas the Engineer has 4 types 5 skills in each type yea they have “Weapon Kit” and “Device Kit” but thats 3 Weapon 2 Device, and they are all 5 still just Kits…
Hopefully if they do any of this they will fix the existing healing skills to make more of them actually useful… and the new ones will be made useful too…

Actually a lot of the current healing and elite skills could be categorized under the utility skill types but simply aren’t as there is little reason to. Example, thief’s hide in shadows could easily be considered a deception skill, and his withdraw a trick. The mesmer’s moa morph could be considered manipulation, and time warp is very similar to glamour skills. The labels may not be there, but the theme is on most of the current elite/healing skills already.

That was actually my mistake, I haven’t played a lot of engineer but thought I remembered them having 4 types as well as device and weapon kits, just misremembering
dr, the point is because those labels are not ont he skills, they are not effected by traits.
Also…all guardian elite skills suck currently BECAUSE they are totally disconected from what the class is about when you look at every other skill they have.
You could just not healing and elite skills from being effected by the traits, all it would take is rewording the trait such that " ‘blank’ utility skills recharge 20% faster". Assuming you didn’t want the traits to effect them (the traits don’t currently effect them, but if each type of skill had a corresponding healing and elite they would all equally benefit from it)
