One thing i think would be the best thing you could possibly add to a game for a class like a ranger would be pets that grow and evolve. I mean i would be the happiest gamer if i could charm a pet as a juvanile and as it levels it grows in apperance and size.The wow factor (not the game wow) for me would be seeing someone running past with a huge adult drake or something that shows they have raised it through the levels to gain this awesome looking pet and in fact i think this would create a bond with pets as oppossed to swap out a pet for its stats to suit the fight which means it has no tie to your toon other then stats. Please if any Anet mods read this could you Please give me feedback on why or why not it couldnt or wouldnt be possible. Thanks

Yep, that’s something gw1 had, definitely need it here: makes you able to decide whether you have a defensive, a strong, an evasive or other one. I don’t think the size should differ too much though :P

When you wrote evolve, I immediatley thought of Pokemon… It would be cool, if it only affected size and appearence, no additional stats to what they have now.

how bout this , evolving pets (become bigger) , + Pet armor addition.

The exclusive problem with this is that unlike in GW1 (as was mentioned by someone else) the pet’s level doesn’t increase separately from yours.

That aside I 100% agree with this. I think there should be some kind of age associated with the pet that only increases while the pet is actively being used in the game. If you stow your pet, or you have a different pet currently out it doesn’t age.

Even better would be a special XP meter that dictates its “evolution.” That way you can’t just have your pet out and walk away without doing anything to get your pet to adult, or better. This becomes a somewhat “grindy minigame” for Rangers to get all your pets to max. It would certainly inspire a lot of Rangers to change up their pet selection.

I don’t mind the pets evolving, but I definately want to keep all mine small, the smaller the better, so they don’t interfer with sight lines.

i think this is a decent idea, the pets arnt really focused on as much as the actual character, so i think like a seperate level system or “evolve” system would be a nice touch

This is the problems when it come to pet classes in mmo. Only two mmo have done it right so far. Warhammer online (white lion class) and aion (Spirit master class). Our pets are our weapons so the way I see it why should other class have better weapons to use and look so epic, whiles our pets looks the same from the day we got them. I have never understand this in anyway. We can have the best gear but, our pets will always look out of place with us. Pet should evolve and look different.

Or give us an option, even if it’s gem store, to shrink the size of your pets. I’m tired of my pet being as big as my character.

Oh and I’m tired of my pet running far ahead of me when I’m harvesting something aggroing things I’m no where near.

Are you an asuran? Bears in general are fairly big, can’t ask them to make care bears

On topic, +1. I would like a noticable feature (visual) change on a pet if you use it enough. Like size or allow to change colors or add some horns/mane/tusks/ etc to it as it evolves. But no to stat bonuses.
