Necromancer weapons request
The only thing we desperately need to keep us balanced with other classes in pve is a cleave melee weapon. Mainhand sword or greatsword would fit that role fine.
Follow the debate here, in the Necromancer forum
We also need power-based aoe weapon, something like power version of staff.
-1200 range + 1 auto attack/4 power based aoe skills(2 of 4 includes ccs).
-Can be traited for 240 radius.
-Uses power based well-like skills which stay at area for 5-7 secs and deals power-based damage every seconds.
This will help us to deal with condition stack limits, we can’t deal damage in pve due to low 25 stack limit. Also this will make power builds viable in wvw, current direct damage based weapons of necro are single targeted and useless vs zerg.
I really just want my necro to have a sweet looking scythe. I know there are skins, but I mean an entirely new weapon set devoted to scythes.
I agree with spoj.9672 comment
Cleave is all Necro need, without auto targeting its so hard to target a mob so that ur axt can do his pathethic single target attack while all other hit with one strike 5 enemys.
this and a stunbreaker and i would consider play this class again
GS would be my pick as well, my mouth waters whenever an elly throws down a fiery gs and I get to use one for a few secs

You know there is this thing called Death Shroud, it has 3 skills that cc and 2 strong power attacks.
Why not just add new weapon like a scythe with cleave dmg..
Agreed, the Necro definitely needs some melee cleave weapon.
Staff is already a power-based AoE weapon. It is weaker against single targets to balance its cumulative AoE againt multiple targets. Staff is a little short on CC with only Chill and a short Fear. Warrior’s rifle, for example, has all single target damage, a channel, and a knock-back that is not a condition. Staff has no interrupt. Its two strengths against bosses are its range and its burst. The rest is unremarkable.

I don’t mean we need ccs, this new concept power-aoe weapon will have it as well as staff’s ccs. Some of its skills will have ccs along with raw damage. We need power(direct damage) based aoes in weapon skills. Necro depends on conditions so much. Condition sucks in pve due to 25 stack limit. And power builds really lack aoe damage which sucks in wvw, this kind of weapon will solve all of these problems. We need a cleave weapon with high damage as well, I agree on that.
New weapons should have DoT or CC, somewhere, in the style of Necromancer. I see no reason why the profession should not have cleave if the weapon forgoes other AoE. The two weapon funtions described above fill important holes in Necromancer’s tool box.
Long range single target CC for bosses and short range 2H cleave, channel, finisher with bleed, torment, and blind as a compliment for scepter.
I would like a melee or short ranged power weapon, similar to how trident works underwater. Actually, just let me use trident on land.
