New Skill Slot: Trinity Role
Yeah, not going to happen.
If you’re going to suggest a trinity, at least make it the established Damage/Control/Support.

we have that. Impossible to have control as a major part of the game since thats the same reason it was removed was because its easy to exploit in masses like zergs. Support is no different from what healing role does, but again in many ways. in old MMOs with trinity we may call this buffing, or debuff removing or healing.
Damage is always the same as dps in the trinity.
12 new skills per class? —> Yes!
Restrictions to them? → Why?
The Idea of being able to define your role better seems good at the first look, but think about it for a moment:
Damage Classes are already able to do high Damage
Tanks are already rly tanky.
…ok, this is very obvious, but if you know would add some “role-defining-(super-)skills”.
Wouldn’t this hurt Balance?
It would create extreme op tank or damage build, or maybe even worse, giving glass canons good defensive-capabilities if they choose a “tank-role-skill”, or enabling tanks to do high damage when they choose “DD-role”

By design, a glass cannon build can be do, damage, but how will that help them tank if they select a tank skill. They would be able to tank, but not as effective as somebody who builds for tanking. Tank skills like taunt pull, will get themselves in trouble if they dont build around it.
a defensive build with damage skill in the role slot, would not be effective at damage as a damage build designed for the role. But can be used in unique ways of doing damage in AoE heavy areas. but they cant tank, since only Tank skills have aggro effecting skills.
Tank Skills deal with aggro control, Damage skills do another damage boost, and healing skills function on focused and AoE heals and condition control. AoE not as effective here so it requires player skills to perform the role.
I do enjoy the prospect of having the new skills and expanding my role based on situation but I’m pretty sure since Anet wanted to do away with the trinity that something like this wont be coming any time soon.
If they were to add another skill slot (either via F5 or 11), I would like to have it as a place to put one of the underpowered, yet overlooked racial abilities. There are some that would be fun to use to throw some randomness into a fight in pvp or wvw. Too bad I can never use them since they are on 10 minute cooldowns and don’t offer near the versatility of class utilities
