You know how I know it’s night in GW2? My Ghastly Greatsword glows.

Otherwise, unless I look up and make sure there are stars and a moon in the sky, I could easily not even notice what time of virtual day it is. When your camera is looking across at normal “eye level” in order to move about and play the game, it’s so bright it may as well not even be nighttime.

Nighttime should be darker. It should be scary. We have abilities that proc only at night… how about monsters and events that only spawn at night? It doesn’t have to be pitch black. Nighttime in WoW is much darker than in GW2 but you can still see what you’re doing.

So, please: bring on the night!

Go to a different zone. If I go to Ascalon, nighttime is really dark. If I’m in Shiverpeaks it’s hardly noticeable and if I’m in Kryta, unless it’s midnight, I can’t always tell.

Give me Dragon’s Dogma night time. No lanterns. Or Skyrim with realistic lighting mods.

Yeah. It’s much darker in the Ascalon areas at night than the other areas. I was there and really enjoying it. Is strange why it isn’t consistent across the maps.

Natural lighting. Each zone has it’s own color scheme and the reflected light affects it differently. Although the sky is also somewhat more transparent in Ascalon (the daytime is brighter and the nighttime is darker, there’s a much larger contrast) whereas in Kryta the daytime and nighttime are bright, but the nighttime is just dim, instead of dark.

Shiverpeaks are more of a cool color during the day, so the transition to night isn’t noticeable.

Even with different lighting in different zones… I think night time could use a bit of darkening globally. Sometimes I can’t even tell the little lanterns are on at night because it’s still so bright.

Night time needs to be a bit darker.

DARK nights please. I personally would like for them to be REALLY REALLY dark…. but I know that won’t happen.

I would like to see this enhanced because I think it would bring a new level of play to WvW, which is what I care about. Nighttime ambushes, more coordinated scouting, timing attacks for specific times of day strategically.

make new areas that are so dark you need torches to see

Games that are too dark hurt my eyes. No thanks.

If you want it darker, turn your gamma all the way down.

May be just an option so people can choose if they want nights that looks dark or bright as day. Even better a slider so people can tweak it to their tastes.
