Open world content with each big update
I agree with this. It seems like a very good idea.
Thanks Wulfsbane, Im glad someone does!
The idea is nice, but I think that idea won’t work without some additions
For example:
- Players need challenges also and permanent content that can be repeated (aka zmall zones you can do daily for some rewards like Brahm and Rox story).
- Players would need to be rewarded for playing and not rewarded for farmin ( here is my thread about how to do it (read it please): https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/XP-TO-GOLD-conversion-vs-flippers-and-farmers/first )
Freshing up the zones Is great idea, but most ppl need to feel they have something to do in there aside from waiting for an event. There should be changes possibly new temporal hearts (that don’t count for map completion), but in the end ppl have to have something to do different than running around and collecting some parts of telescopes (which was kind of nice at first, but in the end boring cause it was too long in there).
Hey Septemptus, thanks for the comments and suggestions. I definitely see this sort of content as something that could work as a reward for playing, and for having played various content, as well as freshen up the various zones.
You are quite right though, people need a reason to go to zones beyond waiting for events to happen. You know i think the waypoint system has kind of backfired there, all that content so frequently bypassed in the name of saving a few minutes.
Something that might work is more events that can be triggered by players talking to npcs. Or you could possibly have hearts that travel around the world (like yakkington back in GW1) and the heart task changes based on what zone they are in. Offer good rewards in return for being quite hard to find.
I think this is an amazing idea, and so much better than the current living story content. I think that this type of thing would really get players going back to experience all the different events that they themselves might trigger.
