Make kids a playable in the game. It would have with customization options to play
different ages, heights, faces, hair styles.

Why do this?

• Role playing as kids
  *many cultures train kids at a early age to fight.
  *New character slot sales
  *Many players would like to play a alt as a kid.
  *meshes look cute
  *Can be done without kids being sexualized in the game.

Nord kids-This idea fits the theme of the Nord race. Many tribes all
over the world train their children to hunt, fish and even go to war.

A trained child isn’t as powerful as a trained adult though, it’d be too jarring. And your immediate jump to sex on your last 2 points worries me.

Technically, you’d need to redo the skins for every armour too, kids with greatswords doing as much damage as adults, makes no sense.

Just doesn’t work, way to much effort for no real game improvement.
Its on the other hay absolute unrealistic… at least as playable models in regard of battles – just 100% NO.

In regard of something you can play in your personal story – YES, it would be there a great improvement, if we could play certain childhood moments in the personal story with special for the instance made “child skills based on your played class/race combination”.

For something like that I’d sign anytime. Anything other than that is just a time waste.

Here is the main problem and you have to look at it from the stand point of the company not the player.
If you have 100 players playing a game and 1 person can potentially abuse it and make it into a situation that is not right.
E.G. I made this kid to cyber with other people
this could create a slew of problems from the company, Law suits from parents from the ESRB, from the BBB, there is a lot to take into account. Yes most players would treat it with responsibility and not go that route. Although you can not speak for all 400k Congruent players that play on a daily basis, therefore with a situation like that if there is even a small 1% chance it could happen it wont happen period. I guess that is all I can really tell you.

In this suggestion, Anet will have to re-develop another game to have kids in it. They will have to do another 90 films of voice overs. They will have to remake more animations, they’ll have to re-design armor so it fits for children.

I just want a tonic where I can turn into a kid. Maybe all town clothes and some toys like the Wooden Sword can be re-designed to fit for children since there aren’t many.

Hm, that’s true. If you put a disney twist to it, it’ll feel a lot better XD. I’m not so sure about GW2 though… I’d be slightly disturbed to see Zaitan make zombies out of them. I don’t know if it fits in the context of a T rated game though.

I don’t mind seeing baby quaggan tonics or even charr kid tonics, but being able to RP and play as a kid through all the zone just seems too out of context with the game’s stories.

I think it would be great if player’s were to play as kid’s in a storyline “Flashback”, As of now we don’t know much about our characters past life. But I dont think it would fit in the open world.

Creepy is a very stupid argument considering maybe as much as half the games out there have kids as main characters.

But I do understand how people feel that kid characters shouldn’t be as powerful as adults.

I how ever would like kid npc’s to be a bigger part of the game through hostage rescue events.

My Necro is a kid. Human smallest possible size with the more baby type face more youthful slender body, and Pig Tails hair do.

I made her as a replacement to the original same name toon from GW1, which was age 17 when she started her journey.

I had the new one not actually be named the same name, but she was so inspired by the original, that she had read about in a book from a cart in Queensdale.

She decided she would take up the name and follow in her footsteps as a great hero. Her parents were missing and she had grew up in the streets and knew the ruff life so, being a hero seemed like fantasy life to her, til one day Shaemoor was attacked by Centaurs. She was only 15 when she took up a weapon that day and defended off the attack, almost single handily. Her street smarts were the reason she was able to fight off the larger attackers. From there her life was changed forever. She knew that the Fantasy had become a Reality and she would never know true happiness till she found out what had happened to her parents.

Now am I sick for making my toon 15years old?

I think there would have to be all new character models for kids lol, at least for human kids because they look goofy. I think some people are making this out to be weirder than it was intended to be I can see where the OP is coming from with the suggestion. It could just be a couple new body type selections on the races, and maybe a few different faces. And a voice pitch slider which I’ve suggested before. because my toons voices dont all sound how they look like they should lol

Age is a role playing element to a game. Some games have it, some games don’t. IIRC Fable has it.

I highly doubt this game would ever have playable, killable kids. It’s amazing they have kids so visible in the game as it is. Note that all the kids running around are happy, healthy, loved, and well-adjusted. Jarringly so for a world so full of death and looming global destruction. I have to suspend my disbelief when I see all the cheerfully playing littles.

Not that I want to have abused Oliver Twist orphans woven into the game’s fabric. It’s not a horror game! But even if I did I wouldn’t expect ANet to set itself up for the kind of reactions that would come its way when Bad People twisted things.

I can write off the happy kids along the lines of kids resiliency even in bad times. You can be happy with the life you’ve always had and don’t know how bad things really are.

It’s true that games have touched on kids dying/killing, but most people are not ok with that. Why step into such gray areas? Stepping into such social taboos is simply not worth it imo.

Since MUD’s were the most popular multiplayer games around, if you don’t count my 8-bit days. Yes, many games do have kids as main characters. It simply doesn’t fit with this game’s milieu. No sane parent would let their kid out of Lionsarch. It would feel really tacked on.

Hell yeah, I want to be a charr cub, that would be awesome!

And all the people saying this is creepy? Was it creepy to play as kid Link in those Zelda games? Was it creepy to play as that kid in Earth Bound? Was it creepy to play as that little kitten in Kingdom Hearts? If you automatically think kids = sexualization, then you’re the one who needs to visit a shrink, not the rest of us normal gamers.

No sane parent? I gave my toon a reason to go out and the game has filled in story that I did not even know was gonna be there. I wrote that little piece before the game came out and it really did match her personal story. See my post above if this made no sense…

can you imagine her in her world borderland fighting and killing invaders? there is nothing heroic about that (just see the description of realm avenger in the achievement tab).

that said i understand the reasons why someone would be wiiling to roleplay a kid, or maybe a kid playing the game want to create a toon that fits him/herself… but still i think it’s strange to see a kid in the middle of a fight.

Nonsense, a persons heigth doesn’t mean anything.
Ants are super tiny, but they are for their size super strong and can can carry things, that weight 300times their own weight!
Something what we like a billion times bigger humans CAN’T DO, as the weight of something compareble that weights 300x more, than we do, WOULD KILL US UNDER THE PRESSURE…..

Just think of Asuras having some kind of high tech, or magic, that helps them in compensating heigth/power compared to a norn to be able to deal damage with their weapons same as strong as a Norn does.

While a Norn uses just his bare muscles… the Asura uses some alchemagical gravitonic help, that is integrated in their weapons to make their weapon swings more lethal, which only Asurans do know how to use… their weapon designs aren’t looking for nothing so high tech like n’ spacey!!!!.

So think of them like like swinging weapons, that are as light for them, like feathers, but in “real” their weapon swings are as hard, as like something extreme heavy would have hitten you weighting a multiple of tons that makes up for their not so big muscles which norns have and don’t need such alchemagical help…

It would improve the general personal story system, if players could decide to play it right from the beginn on with a childhood part, or to decide to skip that shildhood part and begin normally as we do now …

no i like your story, and sorry i didn’t explain myself properly.
i don’t think you are a sicko, the only think i meant to say is your heroine is a tragic one, she is lucky only because she likes what she do and adventure, but that was only my opinion.
and btw 15 years old i don’t think is the kind of kid the op had in mind… 15 years old are not “kids” in some culture they are adults, and in gw2 the idea of a teen ager hero fits…

At any rate, it wouldn’t work. Making playable children in a war-based game would raise some serious ethical dilemmas. You can make someone who looks 12-14 or so, though. Play around with your character creation sliders.

It would be nice if they add aging in the game which can be reverted by paying gold.
Some people would;d just play as kids, others as old ganpa’ s but it will give the game more role-play value.

There are Human / Norn kids and Charr cubs running around but no Asura’s or Silvary’s.
Your argument isn’t really a problem for implementing kids or aging in the game.
The only argument against kids would be “if they put this option only to specific races, implies adding different other separations between races” like race specific profession which will never be a possibility due to A-Net philosophy
