Please increase the max lvl
What difference would that make?
At level 80, you still level up – every so often all of your hitpoints are healed mid-battle when you do and you get a skill point. The only difference is that the little number doesn’t go up anymore.
If they added new levels and the new cap was, say level 100, people would blast through the new levels in a matter of a few hours anyway. If new content was released (1 or 2 new maps) people would have these completed in a matter of days. We burn through content.

Yeah I agree with you. But there are players who don’t “burn through the content”. People who enjoy the game and don’t rush to finish all stuff asap. I like to do all hearts quests, pois, vistas, events, and other stuff. And those who rush, let them rush, you choose how you wanna play. I can’t criticize those who play fast.because is their way of playing games…They could criticize me that I’m slow and stuff… But a new lvl max could mean a breath of fresh air. Not same over 8 months air in Orr,dungeons and other events. Even the asuras from the elemental event pyramid cough, because they staid too long in that vicious place….just kidding….
People rushed the game from the beginning too, from 1 to 80. I know they will do the same but the sad part is that people get bored after some time and leave.
Many said:I come back when there will be new content.
Why to put only new content in the tradind post like bear hats and minis? Try to think on the long run too,on a long term.
But, but, but… We just got several weeks worth of new content on a level 80 map, complete with new events, mobs, items, boss fights and story instances… ?

Yeah and after get back to old events.
You were asking for a breath of fresh air for high level characters that are done with exploring – and that is exactly what we get with the Living Story updates.
I still think your main issue is that the level number isn’t going up and that somehow gives you the feeling that you no longer achieve anything. But it is just a number. Who case whether it says “80” or “200” on your character sheet, it makes zero difference if the rest of the game is the same.

No, just NO.
I’d explain, but I rate this kind of discussion alongside crap like:
Raids plz!
Duels, kthxbai
ERMAGERD MERNTZ!
Therefore I may take some time replying to you.
I think that the number of maps should go up, events, able to use more traits once you lvl is higher than 80, give us something to do with karma except the legendaries and orian boxes, make a mentoring system, give us something to do with the hundreds of sp points we got after 80 except the bloodstone shards, there are so many great things I would like to see happen, this game has a tone of potential but if it stays too long at this state is not that cool. Believe me or not I even bought a new gaming laptop before buying this game because my old desktop was just too weak. I care and love this game, and I hope you get my point.
this is so pointless. why would you want to lvl your character for another 10 lvls which will take 1 hour? to get your gear outdated?
yes gw2 has linear exp/lvl
I’d keep the level raising for an expansion… mainly because it would be pointless to just increase the level cap without also developing new higher level areas to play, new gear, new dungeons and so on, which would be a massive development for the game… highest level areas in the game at the moment are level 80, if you were to level to 100 (for example), you’d still be downgraded to level 80 when in those areas.
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.
They may raise the level cap with future expansions.
Otherwise, I don’t see your “everyone is level 80” as a good argument, because then everyone will just be level, for example, 100. It really doesn’t matter what level the cap is at (unless it’s unlimited), you are always going to see a lot of players at that top level because people like to breeze through to the highest level.
Either way, I really hope that level caps do increase with expansion packs. It will definitely help those players who are at 80 and want something else to do.
- I think that the number of maps should go up,
- able to use more traits once you lvl is higher than 80
- give us something to do with karma except the legendaries and orian boxes
- give us something to do with the hundreds of sp points we got after 80 except the bloodstone shards
- It will, eventually. After all, we did already get the Southsun Cove.
- I don’t think that’s ever going to happen. If you look at most builds, they’re very muchly balanced on the idea of exactly 70 traitpoints. Give them even 5 more and that’ll make certain builds absolutely broken. Give them even more than that and you’ll just have to nerf the crap out of everyone because they’re way too powerful now.
- There’s plenty of ingredients, recipes and skins out there already
- You can already use Skillpoints for upgrading materials, upgrading WvW blueprints and lots of weapons that don’t come from anywhere else. I think that’s plenty.
There are a number of reasons NOT to implement this:
- Balancing – Increasing the amount of levels would mean increasing the amount of traits players would have access to meaning a) players would eventually have access to every trait line being full or b) ANet would have to expand the trait lines. At the moment, it would be better for Anet to work on balancing the current traits (and skills) to create more viable builds before adding more traits and skills. * Content – Content can be added for max level without needing to add more levels. This makes new content easier to balance because (providing anet don’t keep adding tiers of gear) there won’t be an issue of power creep. No need to balance power creep = more time to balance skills and traits.
- You’ll get the same issue with the new level cap. People reach it, then get bored of being at cap, they raise the cap.
Instead, more progression and systems for max level:
- Upgrading skills – hunting down upgrades for skills to adjust to playstyle (i.e. Increase range on Fireball OR add Burning condition OR increase splash radius OR 1 sec Fire field on impact). These would be unlocked through activities depending on the profession (Ele’s hunt down tomes and scrolls and decipher them, while Warriors train and battle masters of their weapons. Maybe Engies have to experiment and ‘create’ their upgrades)
- Hunting down crafting recipies
- Specialising in two crafting disciplines, which can make use of these recipies, as well being able to craft stat combos unavailable to the regular crafters.
- Reputation – With respective Order (titles, missions ect) / Pact / Warband (reduced cost of goods in the race city) / Areas (reduced waypoint costs in that area, crafting recipies and such) / Dungeons (unlock various bonus missions)
Time is a river.
The door is ajar.
I’m sorry but this would totally mess up the trait system.
Plus, If you really want to keep leveling then why don’t you just make another character?
This is a topic in which I want to highlight that the game is almoust full of 80 lvl players. I think think the max lvl should be raised. Bring more content for the people who are bored of staying at 80 for so much time. Many people leave the game because they get bored of doing same stuff all day,at same lvl. They go and play other games, and this is bad for the economy of the game too,and Anet’s economy of course.Less people, less money. Bring something for us to do,except living stories and now a Festival? Leveling 100,200,300… more times at 80 is boring,is more boring even than grinding. I hope that the max lvl will be raised this year. I know that many other people hope this too. I hope Anet will do something about it.
Cheers
Daniel
god no.
Max level should have been 30. After thakittens pointless, you only get traits whihc are not interesting as you level.
