Reason Why World Boss are not as successful
You do know that Tequalt’s fight is being completely changed, don’t you?
The devs don’t care about WvW so I’m gonna kill players in PvE!
I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that a bunch of the world bosses are being changed.
I actually agree for the most part. I say “for the most part”, because I find the Claw of Jormag fight to be pretty fun, and a good example of a world boss done right in this game.
Hopefully, after a year of observing the player base, ANet’s content designers have a good idea about the kinds of things they should be doing when retooling these fights. These world bosses are supposed to be a major draw of the game, but right now, too many people are treating them as daily loot pinatas and nothing more.

My guildies were telling my they saw a stream of the Taq, revamp, and said it was the most insanely challenging looking boss they’ve ever seen, so seems like there’s hope.

All these “MEGA” bosses now just enters in and stays stagnent on the spot until they die. This sort of dulls out any excitment which players get and also puts an end to the adrenaline from those wonderful entrances those bosses comes in with.

i agree with you . world bosses must be real mother f@@kers . they must hunt all players in a certain area like agrro mobs do
I do hope the new revamp boss fights becomes more engaging, and I do not mean more red circle aoe etc, I hope those bosses become more life-like. If revamping just means the boss would stay on the same spot and drop different red circles, to me its still the same, nothing have changed.

I would think that a big part of why a lot of the larger bosses don’t move has to do with the environment they’re spawned in.
For example, can you imagine the Fire Elemental moving in the reactor? I sure can’t, it’s too tiny. On the other hand, if Shatterer was constantly taking flight across the rather flat Blazeridge Steppes, people would probably stop doing it because of the amount of time you would spend running after it.
And if you were going to make them able to walk, that might just end up as a massive aoe knockdown fest. And we know that no one likes that.
