Revealing armor for Male Characters
I suggest you join this thread

No donari, not about female, but about male :P This is a “We want…” instead of a “We do not want…”
Oh yer, sure, as long as it stays decent
There is quite a bit of heavy armour that is revealing
… but not revealing enough it seems. Hell, sure why not, I’m down for half naked male pixels too. Seems only fair, would hate for Anet to be called sexists on top of everything else.
I agree with the OP. Bring it! /whistle
I support this fully. It’s only fair, right? It would be hilarious to see half naked men running around the battlefield.
I agree with this. The debate over revealing female armor has been raging on these forums. The reason revealing female armor promotes inequality, is that ONLY females have revealing armor, while the male equivalent is often very covering.
Giving males a variety of revealing and sexualized armor, so that revealing armors are more equal across the genders, is the way to fix this problem and quiet down the debate. It would make the majority of both sides happy—the people who want revealing female armor don’t lose any options, the issue of gender equality is addressed, and at the end of the day we have even MORE options with addition of revealing male armor.
Codpieces and loincloths, please!
Codpieces and loincloths, please!
I’d kill for my Norn’s stupid boxer shorts to be replaced by a good ol’ loincloth…
Do you even lift, bro?
I would love to see male characters in chain mail bikini briefs or Speedos and dance slippers.
I’m in favor of revealing armor for men and women.
Male characters can run around like Conan.
Female characters need more armor that shows their backside.
I’m guessing that unless we see females running around in panzer thongs, we won’t see codpieces.
Not that I would want to.
I’m partially for this. However I don’t really see the point, human males are so bizarrely proportioned that it would just look gross.
I’m all for showing some skin on my Sylvari, but it can look a bit jarring having green peaking through armour.
I support revealing armor for males… the T3 human armor medium is awesome but on females its like almost nothing, were as my male ranger shows off only his arms… I want a lot more revealing armor for my male characters, as they rather like showing off how …. “heroic” they are.
I guess if you want male revealing armor you need to roll a heavy armor profession:

Hmmmmmm.
No thanks
Well its mostly 14 year old boys playing male norn warrior in this game, they want to see the female chars looking promiscuous and they don’t want to see male characters dressed up in whatever way girls will find attractive.
I would love an armor set where the shirt for males is just chest tatoos, and for females, just a bikini top and tattoos. Maybe the same thing with all the armor parts, so if you wear the full set, you’re just wearing a loincloth an tatoos, and a leather top if you’re a female.

The medium armor “Duelist” set kitten es me off for this reason, it’s this kinda cool coat for males, and ladies get leather bikini. Really, for males, there’s nothing but coats for medium armor. Variety is the key, isn’t that right?

That’s exactly what I was thinking of, though I might actually scale back the amount of ink on the skin. In terms of coverage of skin, I’d love something in the realm of Kratos’s tattoos. As for why they’re armor, maybe call them Ironskin Tattoos, or Ironskin Marks. That shouldn’t mess up the naming conventions at all. Beserker’s Ironskin Tattoos of Force.
light armor has only the feathered armor that is revealing, there is no need to be fully in loinclothes but something in the line of spartacus tv show would work magic in my opinion…

Right, but if the set was full loincloth, then characters would have the option of just using , for example, the chest piece if they wanted their character to be shirtless.
Additionally, if the tattoo idea was implemented, it would be really cool if using the dye remover allowed you make the tattoos invisible if you wanted.

You can’t put sigils in armor…

Right. I’m an idiot. I just said the first suffix that came to mind.
The naming system still works with Ironskin Tattoos or Ironflesh Tattoos.
I’d be all for this considering it would be amazing to have my Norn warrior running down only in a kilt or something lol! Also another way to think of it beyond Braveheart style would be 300 style armor as well. That would look cool as kitten

Just make the norn a heavy armor user, use the pit fighter leggings and shoes
http://www.gw2armor.com/norn/male/k2/heavy/display_looks.php
Then use the named chest, that’s just a couple of straps instead of the whole chest/neck thing of the pit fighter:
http://www.gw2armor.com/norn/male/named/heavy/display_looks.php
And use any shoulder and hear armor you want and hide them in the hero panel (uncheck the checkbox on them) and that’s as close as you can get for the time being to using only a kilt..
Personally I liked the way AoC handled it, you had an appearance tab that was independent of the armor (though I know it’s not gonna happen because Anet depends, among other things, on selling of fine T-stones) and every slot of armor had a visibility checkbox, so you could even make a fully naked (well, loinclothed) character if you wanted to.
