Skills, Raids, and Second Spec
Sounds like you want to play WoW.
I wouldn’t count on them adding new skills to existing weapons, but what I can see is future utilization of weapons by professions that can’t currently use them. As well as the implementation of new weapons.
I agree about specs, that would be nice, since original GW had similar system.
As for skills, I’m with you, and I would like to see more weapon skills someday in the future, or at least new slot skills. I know it’s kinda hard to balance all out, but we can wait for new skills.
As for the raids, I’m not really fan of instances, but I wouldn’t mind seeing a 10 people dungeon that’s harder than the rest. On the downside, that kind of dungeon could shift players from open world to instances, similar when the Fractals first opened.
Your raids are the meta events that happen all around the world, all the time. Temples, dragons, world bosses, meta chains, etc. Seriously, it sounds like you want to play WoW lol
I would dearly love to be able to modify the order of my skillbars, have a second or third spec ( Rifts let me have 5!)
Let me try sword/sword on my thief, pistol/pistol on my mesmer.
In addition to the basic weapon skills, let me earn other weapon skills., and change them out with the basic ones =D
For example, any weapon skill that is condition damage based, make a similar one that is direct damage based. Some of us like conditions, while others prefer direct damage. This would open up more weapon sets for players concentrating on one style of damage over others.
Clearly you have no idea what the word balance means. If you want to do direct damage, make a direct damage class. There is plenty of variety in the game.
Raids like in WoW are not necessary to us. Additional slots on the weapon as will destroy uniqueness of Guild Wars 2. But it is possible to add the additional weapon or different sets of skills on one weapon. For high-end content it is possible to add a hard mods and elite missions as in the first part of GW. Instead of the second spec as it is better to add system of saving bilds like in GW1.
Balance means many choices and specs argued about and for at the top of the math crunching spectrum. The closer you get to balanced, the more spreadsheet/parse/video/proof based the discussion gets.
When for say Warriors it is hit X number on a greatsword, then go Axe/Mace till greatsword ’s X recharges. Things have gone to far the opposite way.
Armors are skins with stats we choose. While I wasn’t suggesting that for our Weapons, I see no reason that would be bad, or less balanced then what we have now.
