Some suggestions to make WvWvW more balanced.
I might just disagree with 2 and 4. I can understand 2 from a queue standpoint, but it does give people incentive to do WvW and own parts of the map so they can farm those nodes.
As for 4, I think it gives people incentive to level to 80 to get all of their traits and some good gear. And those that are already there feel like the work they put in was worth it. I like how sPvP works, but I also like the leveling side of things and it’s nice to have another place to show off the cool armor you got or whatever else. Besides, I’ve gone into WvW at lower levels plenty of times and had fun, so I don’t think we need to make them insta 80. People generally don’t run around in WvW solo anyway.
I really do agree with #4 but I think they want to make WvWvW distinct from sPvP. The best deal would be to have all traits unlocked by not the gear, imo.

1/2. These probably won’t be removed because you need them to complete your daily achievements and make a bit of money. Players are supposed to never need to leave WvW. Something more interesting would be if they made the best nodes spawn near supply camps or something to make farmers need to contribute.

maybe tol borad is a better example? wotlk AV? wvw isn’t those things. it’s classic mmo pvp, not some bf3 mode tacked on to an mmo.

It’s kinda sad because they advertised this game as having PvP where you didn’t have to grind for gear. Kinda lame that it turned out to be modern FPS style join 16 player servers to play point capture, while the real epic PvP battles DO require gear grinding to shine at.
I do have lvl 80 in full gear and it’s not even fun to do 3-4x damage to all the enemies who have little green arrow pointin up next to their level.
WvW was never intended to be really balanced in the first place, this is literally what one of the WvW lead designers said (Mike Ferguson, i believe).
it’s not the competitive/esport game mode of GW2, sPvP is.
While I don’t think they should give you anything in wvw that your pve character doesn’t have. Stats need to be reviewed for pve equipment. As a mesmer I have 39% dmg, 96% crit dmg, 52% crit, and 2.3k power. There is a reason you can’t have such high stats in spvp, and that’s because it would be broken otherwise. Whether the game is balanced for wvw or not, wvw will fail when you have a majority of people killing people in 2 or 3 abilities.

1. I am getting fairly annoyed by them, though they do give me a 25 stack in bloodlust.
