First of all, this is my first post. I apologize if this is the wrong place for this post.
That said, I’ll move on to the the point of this post, which is to ask that something be done about stealth. I don’t know what should be done but I can say a few things with certainty.
1. Thieves should not be able to 2v1 or 3v1, which I’ve seen several times.
2. Additionally, it is NOT fair that they can stealth and then finish their opponent off.

Quite frankly, it baffles me that Thieves (and maybe Mesmer, I don’t know enough about them to say for sure) can stealth as much as they do while they are in a fight.
I understand that this game is not WoW, but there is something to be said about stealth in WoW. Rogues could only go into stealth while in combat with Vanish, which was on a 2 or 3 minute cool-down. As far as I know it is the same with Mages and their invisibility move. I’m not sure if they changed this with the latest expansion, but Feral Druids used to not even have a move like Vanish, they had to run away to re-stealth while in combat. Also, if any of the above mentioned classes had a bleed, or DoT on them they could not re-stealth until the bleed or DoTs had gone away, or in a Rogues case they used Cloak of Shadows, which only removed magic DoTs and not bleeds.
I don’t like WoW at all, but I have to say these seemed like they were pretty fair trade offs for the stealth classes. Stealth is an extremely powerful utility to have in PvP. It allows the stealthier to dictate the pace of the fight, whether or not they even do fight, it allows them to run away freely to regroup and restart the fight. It is too powerful if it is not regulated with checks and balances. Also, when you add in the ability to self-heal it has an even higher chance of being out of hand.
I’d say that stealth in this game is a little bit out of control. I don’t think ANY profession or class should be able to 2v1 or 3v1 or be able to run away and reset a fight at, what seems like, any moment in a fight.
As PvP stands now, if I am forced to fight a thief, if you can even call it a fight, I do a little damage, they do more to me, then they go invisible, I stand there… then some nails pop out and I’m standing in them, next thing I know the thief is on me and I have to re-target him. When the thief comes back out he/she is more than likely healed up. Then basically it is the same thing over again until I’m dead, at which time the thief will go invisible again and then finish me off while I twiddle my thumbs.
TL:DR
Asking for something to be done to balance stealth.
Stealth is too powerful a utility when it is not properly regulated with checks and balances.
