Text to Speech and Voice recognition in GW2
That would be a pretty cool feature, however, I’m not sure how much work would have to be put into it, and if it was a lot, then I’d rather ANet focus on other things.
Of course, there would also have to be a toggle option for it.
I definitely support speech, dialog choice recognition, or whatever you might want to call it.
I don’t think any of this would happen any time soon at all though.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.
I have been playing mmorpg for 10 years and have always had a tts running to speak the guild, group and raid text. It’s too easy to miss stuff while you are clicking and moving. And.. this is a more emersive experience… in real life, your group would be talking to you … not typing.
Advanced Combat Tracker (ACT) can provide an example. Triggered tts from a log file. If I can do it, then AR can. all of the software exists… AR2 just needs to tap into the internal log stream and route to windows TTS service.
This also solves a major issue with GW2. Groups. They aren’t happening often enough and need to be encouraged. It’s so much easier if you hear the other guy talking to you.
I have my computer set entirely for touch screen input, hand gesture input and speech to text and voice recognition. I wanted to see if I could use WASD control and mouse for camera panning, but have skill use based on voice prompt only. I could imagine spvp for hot join would be a lot more efficient. I can keep my eyes solely on the screen and players without having to take that half second look. It didn’t seem to work at all despite what measure I made. I guess for now I will continue with my naga mouse..and I guess at the end of the day I still need to blink down to look at conditions and boons. It was one thing I enjoyed a lot about gw1..you could turn skill explanation off or now and format anything on your screen into what HUD style layout you wished.
