Heres the more detailed thread for my second concept class about how I see the Ritualist having a good comeback under a complete new redesign, what has become out of them over the last 250 years.
Visionaries are Scholars, so they use light armory

Weapons

(1H Main) Daggers, Gauntlets*new*, Scepters, Chakrams*new*
(1H Off) Daggers, Gauntlets, Chakrams, Torches, Focus
(2H) Staffs, Crystal Orbs*new*
(Water) Trident, Gauntlets

Traits

These 5 traits should the Visionary have

  • Visions of Ancestry……………. Good for +Precision/ Vision Duration %
  • Spiritual Bonds…………………. Good for + Strength/ Boon Duration %
  • Timeline Channeling………….. Good for + Healing Power/Crit Damage %
  • Astral Magic……………………. Good for + Vitality/ Tarot Recharge Reduction %
  • Mental Forces………………….. Good for + Toughness / Condition Damage

Gameplay

The Visionary has multiple different Modes between that player can change.

F1) The Spiritualist Mode
Within this Mode the Visionary uses mostly due to the help of the spirits of ancestry Visions. Visions are Self Buffs, which support also Allies, if the Visionary receives Attacks, that trigger certain conditions.
In the Spiritualist Mode turn F2, 3 and 4 into Ash Urn-Skills.

F2 is then the Ash of the Ancestral Witcher
The Ash of the Ancestral Witcher is an environmental skill, that turns the weapon skills of the Visionary into ash related skills themed by the Witcher.
Witcher Skills under the Ash’s Effect:

1) Witcher’s Doll Curse
The Visionary will put a Doll into the Ash of the Ancestral Witcher, which will come to live then as a clone doll of a targeted enemy. Whenever that doll receives now damage, the original will receive the same damage.

2) Break Dolls Leg
You break the Legs of the Doll and the Original will reveive Cripple and gets knocked down.

3) Break Dolls Arm
You break the Arms of the Doll and the Original will receive Weakness and gets interrupted

4) Pierce Dolls Heart
You pierce the Heart of the Doll and the Original will receive Vulnerability and lose all Stamina

5) Throw Doll
You throw the Doll against an enemy. The Original will clash against that targeted enemy and deals damage to the enemy to which the original crushes into. This will end the curse towards the original.

F3 is in this mode the Ash of the Ancestral Saint
The Ash of the Ancestral Saint is an environmental skill, that turns the weapon skills of the Visionary into ash related skills themed by the Saint.
Saint Skills under the Ash’s Effect:

1) Prayer to the Fallen
A Skill which lets the Visionary aid in reviving downed characters by giving them additional toughness and quicker regeneration of health

2) From Death to Life
Revives a dead player instantly with Half Health

3) Faith in your Strengths
Gives to all nearby allies Might, Fury and Quickness for 10 seconds

4) Purified Souls
Creates a big holy aura around yourself, in which enemies receive damage over time for 5 seconds and suffer under burning after that for another 5 seconds.

5) Extinction
Multiple big rays of holy light crush into the ground creating explosions, which deal massive damage and blind enemies.

F4 is then the Ash of the Ancestral Hunter
The Ash of the Ancestral Hunter is an environmental skill, that turns the weapon skills of the Visionary into ash related skills themed by the Hunter.
Hunter Skills under the Ash’s Effect:

1) Razortooth Trap
This trap will immobilize the enemy and deals a high stack of bleeding to it

2) Claymore Trap
This is a deathly invisible trap, that deals strong AoE Damage and deals cripple to enemies being hit by it.

3) Neurotoxin Trap
This trap deals poison, weakness and vulnerability to those, who step into it.

4) Hunter’s Instinct
A temporary self buff, that lets you heal yourself, whenever you attack something with health under 50%

5) Arrows of the Hunter
You’ll shoot multiple spiritual ash arrows into the air, which will then home in into several randomous enemies in your near. The Damage will be increased by 10% for every condition that is on the enemy and the arrows have 25% higher chance for critical hits, if the enemy had no conditions..

Thats so far part 1, more later, when I have more time to write the rest ^^

Sorry, but the next Profession must be a Soldier.

You can’t have four Scholars and only two Soldiers…

I can do thirty Five-Dolyak Arm Curls.

Do you even lift, bro?

Rofl, whats that please for a silly self made up rule…
There is nothing, that dictates Anet, what they have to make next and what not.

GW1 even had 5 scholars, 2 soldiers and 3 adventurers if you want to say so.
So what?? Nobody cared, especially not Anet, so why should they do that this time?

Aw… you mad cause I don’t liked your idea…

It is not a stupid self-made up rule.

It is pure unadulterated logic.

Deal with it.

Can’t you make the Visionary into a heave arm class, to make a compromis?
The gauntlet/battlestaff would really fit into such a role. I like your idea about the visionary but I don’t know if it’s possible. These seem like some really complex systems to implement into the game.

Also you mention all sorts of modes, you mentioned the spiritualist mode, but what are the other ones?

As for spiritualist mode, I like the idea for using the ashes of your ancestors to use their skills. It’s a bit like a kit on engineer (flamethrower, elixir gun, bomb kit, grenade kit…), but with ashes instead. Shouldn’t you make these ashes utility skills, so you can only use them limited? I don’t think it’s a good idea to grant them all three ash kits at the same time in battle, because the class would become very versatile.

Also: maybe you ment these ashes as different modes?

@ Oglaf: please go troll somewhere else, ok? Thanks. Personally I don’t care, if you like my idea or not. But about what I care are constructive comments, unlike yours, which weren’t so far.
When Anet maybe wants to implement next another Scholar Class and not a Soldier, then you have to deal with it. So simple. I’m just suggesting here only a Scholar Class, because it is naturally the most fitting class type for this concept.
I don’t try to dictate Anet, what they have to implement next with saying, that the next Class must have to be a soldier.
I leave this decision totally open to them.

@ Sirendor:
About your question, these Ashes are 3 different modes, you can’t use them all at the same time. You activate first via F1 the Spiritualist Mode. By doing so, you can then choose with F2,3 and 4, which Ash Urn you want to use in the Spiritualist Mode.
So when you use first F2 then you use the Wicher’s Ash.
Do you press now F3, then your Ash Skills will change to the Saint’s Ash.
Do you press then F4… I think you get it ^^
By pressing again F1 you’ll end the Spiritualist Mode and turn back to your neutral gameplay with the Visionaries normal weapon skills.
If you press just only once F1 and then no other F-Button for an Ash Urn, then you use just the Spiritualist’s Vision Skills. I think that should explain now everything.

Oh and yes, this concept is complex, but that should it be..easy to learn, hard to master and versatile due to the fact, that this very esoteric class has a very broad spectrum of abilities.

Nice ideas-I like the doll idea, bad balance, cool names, insane class…dont want to see something like this in GW ever-10s quickness without any con to it,instant ress, etc…. Sums it up nicely.

I’m pretty sure they’ve hinted on multiple occasions that the next planned Profession will be a Heavy Armour one.

^They never even said there will be a new class. This means either we get new classes, so we should post suggestions, or we don’t. But this is terribly off-topic. This isn’t a discussion thread about getting light/medium/heavy armour classes, it’s just a suggestion about a possible class.

I fail to see how that invalidates what I said. Whose to even say they are bound to having the profession type decide their equipment? Anet makes the rules, we just interpret (or misinterpret as the current case may be) them in simplified form.

@ crying
But you know, that regardless of what we suggest here, the result in the end will be changed by anet anyways? So Skills will be maybe renamed, or mechanism names from skill balancing and their effects not to talk about.
However a 10 second increase in movement speed is nothing. Many existing classes have either perma movement speed increase skills, like the thief or ranger or also temporary ones with similar duration.
The Elementalist also has a skill/trait combo, that can instantly revive a single fallen player if i remember myself right and that to FULL HEALTH, my skill here revives only with half health.
Maybe due to language barriers you understand under quickness maybe something different, than I do, then I’m sorry for the missunderstanding if I used the wrong word to express myself there with that skill, but I meant with it just a movement speed increase, that boon.

However, I posted so far only a small part of the whole concept, because the Spiritualist Mode is from all gameplay mechanics my Concept has the biggest one to explain due to its multiple ash urns inside F1, where under one is for control, 1 for support and 1 for more damage dealing.

Witcher being inspired by spiritual Voodo Doll bonds
Saint being inspired by something that has a holy presence
Hunter being inspired by Trappers

Through the spiritual bondings to your ancestors you gain temporaly their abilities by using their ashes.
However, that concept is just a beginning and far away from being set in stone like this forever. So I might change some stuff, while I post the rest of the concept, or while reading your comments and so on.

So please just have some patience
