The option to change power colors ?
Power customization was a staple of a lot of fun games like City of Heroes and Champions Online. Would love the option…
I think this is at the bottom of the priority list at the moment.
Would be a nice cosmetic would prefer it to be on say have 6k total achievement points than the gem store. But either way.
Acknowledged is low priority but still a fun thing to make us more unique snowflakes.
I would like to change the color of my mesmer skills, could add this to the gem store, Arena net does not know how to earn money = p

The only problem is it could make it unfair for sPvP and/or WvW players. Since every class has a different color for skills (Blue is Guardian, Purple is Mesmer, Green is Ranger, Orange is Warrior, etc) it makes it easier to identify which class is which. Changing that would make it unfair in sPvP or WvW because you could “fake” your class. People do it all the time with transmuting the starting armor.

Bottom of the priority list, or not, the whole point of this forum is for people throw ideas out there. If it’s good they’ll do it, if not, they’ll ignore it. What exactly does your saying this help either way? Why be so negative when someone is trying to make a suggestion?
This is a great idea, I would love to change the colors of my spells. I would also like to change the look of my projectiles.

Well I will support this idead. Playing my necro in Midnight Sky, Midnight Ice and Steam colored T3 Sylvari with Corrupted Weapons I’d love to see blueish effects of necromancer attacks. Ppl would actually dig it but as many ppl stated it’s not tha necessary
I like this idea as well. Great for Anet and great for players.

Maybe but if it’s total conversion designed by anet and not open to any dye tHey could control the shades. Necro blue would be a different shade then Guardian blue. Perhaps duller and darker more a wraith blue over guardian spirit blue.
As for faking classes I know I have my necro decked out and what could be called mesmer gear because I wanted more of a voodoo baron look. If additional color schemes are offered they would be a hand full per class and designed by the devs to retain distinctness.
Besides it could be agrued that colorblind players already have to use the actual spell effects over the color to identify a class. This would just level the playing field
what if theres profs that don’t have power
like warriors or warriors and warriors
“berserker stance clears all CC on you and you’re still immune to CC for 8 seconds”

I’m thinking BLOOD would be a great effect in place of a power effect for Warriors. Can you imagine when you do the great sword slash thingy, blood would just splatter all over the place…..Oh yeah.

I’m still enjoying pve so I’m not too familiar with wvw and spvp, but I could have sworn that the color of an enemies name is a different color than an allies name, which would keep confusion down and give players a basic idea of what and what not to attack.
Again, this is from a perspective of a player who hasn’t had much experience in wvw and spvp, so don’t take this comment as an attack.

I think he means visually telling the enemy players class so he can counter their attacks and set up an offensive plan.
Generally in wvwvw and pvp, once you are able to identify a persons class you are able to determine a couple scenarios that person is playing. From there, you are able to set up a defensive system and an offensive plan to shut that person down.
Example:
If I am able to identify a person to be a thief, as a ranger I know I need to plan for close quarter combat, so I would be switching to my Great Sword, and If i had time drop a skill for a trap. From there I can work on shutting him down and try to push the theif back to where I can switch to my bow and widdle him away till hes dead.

so the colors have to be different from other classes or put an option that prevents u from seeing the ‘’optional colors ’’

Ahhh okay, makes sense.
It’s a nice dream, but honestly; it’s taken the best part of a year for people to get wise to what different skills do (Pink, pink everywhere! Which pink do I do what with!?).
If you now have all the colours of the rainbows exploding around you people’ll be even more confused. "Is that an ethereal field, no… wait… it’s a water field? – Pink? Really?)

Granted in the more zerg-rush-prone WvW it probably wouldn’t matter a whole lot but in S-PvP it’s definitely a big game changer.
It would be an interesting option, but personally I’d prefer to be able to recolor every bit of armor. There are some bits pieces of the CoF armor and the molten gauntlets that would fit my guardian very well if I could only recolor the flames blue… and yes, I know that recoloring my guardian’s flames would fix it as well, but I’m happy with blue flames..
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.

You could always turn off the effect in PvP – like in WvW enemy players always appear in their side’s colour – ignoring their actual armour dyes.
Hostile spells could be set to use their “actual” colours for PvP, and appear coloured for allies and PvE

This is an excellent idea.
