Town Clothes for Activities
Annoyingly, the game treats any activity that uses the skill bar as combat activity, hence why you always switch out of town clothes and into armour.
I stole a special snowflake’s future by exercising my democratic right to vote.
This has been brought up before. +1 then and +1 now.
- People complain that there is little incentive to even buy and dye town clothes.
- Improved visibility for those players who actually put some effort into their town clothes outfits.
- From an immersion standpoint, activities / mini games are lighthearted fun – even the PvP ones.
- Skill bars are usually replaced with custom skill bars; a character’s own class/profession, traits, and armor class become meaningless. So even in competitive PvP environments, other players do not rely on knowing their opponents’ armor class to guess their profession.
And finally - - ANet would sell more town clothes for gems.
I see a lot of good reasons to support this.
I support Portable Doors: Player Housing anywhere!

+1 from here too!
It would been mutch better and heart-warming to play Choir Bell in my town clothes,
plus in the Toypocalypse, would been nice – that has preset weapons & skills anyway.
The Sanctum Sprint is kind of a race, so there its better to see my pvp esport gear.
