I don’t know how much this annoys other people, or whether this has been addressed or not, but I would really like to be able to turn off the notifications in the top right. A lot of times they’re really distracting (especially when they stack up) and the ability to turn them on or off would be nice.

A prime example is the Personal Story notifier, which never goes away until you complete it. I like how there is a Daily/Monthly notifier, but these do not go away until you complete them. Notifiers for local dynamic events are fine, as are the ones for renown hearts, because those are completed fairly quickly, but ones for meta-events like Frozen Maw are always up for certain areas, even if the event has been completed. A more recent example is the Flame and Frost notifier, which has a black backdrop so it stands out more (and thus is more distracting).

These are nice for letting players know where they have to go for their personal story, where dynamic quests and heart vendors are, and the status of meta events, but they can also feel a lot like a guillotine hanging over you, demanding that you complete said event/quest/heart or it’ll never go away.

TL;DR: An option to turn off the notifications in the top-right, and even to customize which ones appear and which do not, would be beneficial as it prevents players from having their interface overwhelmed by six different tasks (Personal Story, Flame & Frost, Daily/Monthly, Local heart, local event, meta event).

It’s not a complete solution but they can be collapsed by clicking on the headline so only the headline is visible. I find i need to do this to avoid distraction.

This is an okay solution in theory but in practice I find that I get even more annoyed when the notifications “forget” that I hid them and spring back to their enlarged versions.

I personally would love to have more control over what notifications show up and what don’t.

I hate this , actually hate it now. It annoys me to no end that they are stacking up and I cannot just turn them off.

I’ll be happy enough if they had an “arrow bar” to their left. Click the bar, they slide and collapse to the right, leaving only the bar. Click the bar again so they slide back in position.

They annoy me.

I only do whatever is listed to get it out of my screen.

YES! I hate those notifications they are not helpful and waste UI space. Having the option to hide them would be helpful. Actually they should never show up unless you select an option to show them; set the default as hidden.

I agree 100% it makes GW2 nearly unplayable at times, it seems like every time I’m fighting something tough or doing something that requires a bit of concentration something in the corner expands and flys in the middle of the screen or starts blinking and making it impossible to concentrate.

I can’t believe there isn’t a way to toggle it off.

It’s weird, you’d like to get rid of them while I’d like MORE of them.

Like… I would like to see my dailies/monthlies as well as be able to add the slayer, dungeon, jumping puzzle or whatever other achievement(s) I am currently working on, without having to manually switch back and forth between them every time.

There should be an option, I also want to remove the damage numbers, they are so annoying. You can’t see how much health the target has so what relevance are the numbers :/

I wish i could separate Daily to monthlies and have both up at the same time, i also would like my daily to stop being hidden 24/7 every time i go near some other event..

But yes an option to hide the whole lot would be great too.

this has been something folk have begged for since before launch. their most recent answer to it was to allow us to collapse them and supposedly they remain collapsed. we all see how well that’s working.

no one’s quite sure why they won’t give us this toggle, but yeah, we keep asking.

This – a thousand times over. I’m never going to complete my personal story – I would love an option to remove the notification.
