WvW suggestion
I agree; I think implementing this, alongside additional maps for WvW, would help make things a little more interesting. I like WvW’ing, but honestly, it’s starting to become a little stale and has lost most of its appeal.
I think with this plan, at least, there’s something for everyone and it’s somewhat conducive to building a better community in the game as it provides a good opportunity for all the servers to get to know each other a little better.

I like this idea a lot. Personally, the biggest problem with WvW right now in my opinion is dedicating yourself to it leaves little time for break. If you want to be there at every reset, and constantly play your part in ensuring your server does well, that more or less means dedicating yourself at least for a couple hours every single day of the week, every week of the month.
From my own experience, I’ve watched this burn a lot of people out (myself included), and create a general distaste for the thing we once loved. I personally still WvW anyway because I love the tactics side of things and doing my part anyway, but having a “week off” that didn’t matter so much would be very nice.
I also agree with what I think was your point near the end, in that arena net could use THOSE predetermined weeks for patching and other testing, as it wouldn’t interfere with actual matches going on. It’s frankly a little frustrating to be kicked out of wvw during a push on something, and this would be a way to outright solve that issue entirely.
In any case, I hope Anet takes a serious look at this post, as I feel at least some of it could certainly benefit WvW.
Yep, they should allow players to play WvWvW every once in a while and actually get to see that you had any effect at all. The battle rages on every moment, and it doesn’t even feel personal or anything, it’s just… madness. Also: alliances would be a great addition. I’m on the Gandara server atm and we just get dominated by one of the two other servers all the time. We don’t even get a chance to play WvWvW properly cause of that. Instead, if we got a chance to visibly ally ourselves to another server, we could play a bigger and more deciding role. You should also not allow dominators to keep on dominating, cause there’s no fun in it at all.
I personally have never liked the idea of implementing server alliances. 2-1 domination is just as bad as one server dominating both.
Rather than alliances, servers need to play strategically. (I do not want this to turn into a tactics thread but I will atleast give some simple examples). This can be as simple as zerging(zergs happen whether you complain about them or not) servers that are on off hours.
Edit: After more thought, I think it would be awesome if on some of these weeks anet threw in some stuff like 2v2v2 and increase the player cap (Yes, I know, culling. More theory for when they fix that). Or they could even do 1 Tier 1 vs (1 Tier 4+1 Tier 6) vs 2 Tier 5 (1v2v2). Balancing would be an issue but since the weeks wouldn’t count it would be tweaked as they go.
