after not having done the second path of explorable mode for a while, me and a couple of my guildies thought it would be fun to do it again. there we encountered a problem. we entered the dungeon with 3 lvl 80’s one lvl 75 and one lvl 54. considering the fact that we are well above the required lvl we ought to have had no problem. now we were with 5 guild members who are used to working together and we were on Teamspeak at the time. but still we spent over an hour on the ghost eater alone. after which we decided that it was not worth our time anymore to do it. now this is not the reason i am creating this topic. the reason i am writing this is because this event has made it very clear to me and my guildmembers that after the update that changed the way the ghost eater needs to be fought, thids dungeon is no longer possible to complete with a party with 5 lvl 35 members. the reason for this lies in multiple factors. for one the oozes one needs to pull into the traps to charge the traps heal the ghost eater at an akittenonishing rate. second those same oozes can not be damaged by regular attacks so you can not stop this healing proces. third: the aoe the ghost eater throws is almost impossible to evade and does a ton of damage, also does the ghost eater do this rather often. if you add these factors up you’ll see that by the time you have fully charged an trap and lured the ghost eater into it, damage it, and then charge a new trap, he has regenerated more health then you took from him in the previous cicle.

if we had this many problems with a wel coördinated, high lvl-ed, moderatly wel geared team, how is a lvl 35 lvl-ed, random team that doesn’t know each other supposed to do it?
we hope we have informed you in a apropriate manner of what we think is an issue.

I totally agree on this! Even though I like the fact the turrets actually have a use now, I don’t think the updated AC exp path 2 is that well thought out for the actual intended level. Not only does he regenerate too fast for lvl 35 to out-dps it, the tactics are also way too hard and communicative-dependant for the first explorable dungeon a player can do. I can imagine a lot of players are put off of dungeoneering (if that’s even a word) because they think it’s all just above their skill level..
I do like the fact the turrets actually have a use now, so not all the changes are bad

I did updated path 2 maybe a dozen times and I dont remember the boss regenerating. Is it new addition of the last update? If not, I guess you are just doing something wrong. If it is done properly, you won’t get any damage besides the parts when you materialize the boss to damage him. Just switch between left and right trap and keep him on ranged. If some ooze stand in the trap AOE circle, just lift it up and it quickly charge the trap. Otherwise always trigger the lifting laser first, and only if you already see that someone used the lifting laser you can use the pulling one. Quick damage boss, evade aoes and run away from him again.

our real problem was that the boss pulls the oozes towards him and he looks like he absorbs them somehow….the regeneration rate was …not funny….and those aoe’s are absolutely killing……i hadn’t done it since the update when the in dungeon waypoints during combat were disabled so i dont know if anything has changed since then…..maybe we were doing something wrong…but althoug we didn’t whipe once…..we did try several tactics…including the one you are descibing…which was rather well coordinated considering we were on teamspeak….but thanks for the reply…. maybe we were overlooking something:)

They have balanced dungeons against level 80s, ignoring the “minimum required level” that they list in game. Terrible design decision.
