scythe.
……………
ty :P
^already in there mate
totally two handed axe—where? is it.
other would def be whip. a whip is unlike any other weapon, it should have aoe range—slightly further than melee but not as far as ranged. maybe mid range.
a morning star would also be cool
Dual wield Rapiers for Rangers.
Covington pirates can do it, why can’t we ?
Agreed, dual sword wield for rangers.

- auras / mist. imagine a whirling element / crystalshards / black goo around your hand. like the eles attunement effects only much more detailed and bigger
- mojo/shrumpheads/voodoo dolls. like witchdoctor in Diablo 3. could contain highly specialized skills for one purpose
- clawfinger. might at you fingertips. imagine a mean asura necro drawing symbols with his finger causing havoc and fear
- blowdarts ! steal them from hylek
- skulls – like adam from gw1
- a “swordwhip” like that guy from castlevania series

Yes your right they just need to embed the blowdart the same time they add the hylek as a playable race(in 100% serious do it!!)
Kusarigama FTFW. Thief weapon (maybe ranger). It’s an awesome weapon and I’ve never seen it in an MMO ever. That, and even though it’s been said many times before +1 to the scythe.
As for guns, I don’t think a rapid fire gun would be a good addition to a normal repertoire of weapons, but maybe an elite skill for the engineer (similar to the mortar) to summon a Gatling gun.
Edit:
Also, I like the idea of having some unique class-specific weapons. Maybe make them all soulbound on pickup or account bound.
Engineer: Explosive Melee weapon? Gunpowder-Charged Gauntlets?
Warrior: 2-H Axe (Large Aoe DPS weapons)
Guardian: Tower Shield (Ability to have AoE Blocking?)
Mesmer: Fans (or something else distracting & ranged; ability to cause confusion / increase dodge chance)
Thief: Kusarigama (small range + melee ranged fighting + ability to disable / cripple)
Ranger: Crossbow (HUGE damage increase over longbow with a slow fire rate, piercing shots and elemental arrows)
Elementalist: Energy Orbs / Magic Runes (maybe to give major bonuses to specific attunements)
Necromancer: Skulls? Flails? -shrug- I’m lost on this one

Very glad other people want more weapons in game, great suggestions
Can thieves get dual swords already…. maybe even axes, we don’t got enough weapon selection ; ;
Ranger with a whip would be awesome, “HIYAH!”
break. I feel like they should be back by now..”
I want flail for guardian with a skill to summon spinning hammers like the paladin in diablo 2 blessed hammers.
Just an idea on 3 skills it could have
One simple auto attack
Blessed hammer , This was keyskill on hammerdin and if buildt right you could make summon 7 or 8 at once.
Summons a magic hammer that spirals outward, damaging enemies
Vigor
Give swiftness and faster energy recovery for all nearby party members.
I expect Anet to expand on not only the weapon types, but the weapon-available-per-profession over the course of added expansions. Rather than new professions, we’ll likely get new weapons for existing professions – be those weapons that exist already (e.g., giving rangers the hammer is something I can see, or engineers the mace) or brand new weapon types (one-handed spears, above-water two-handed spears, greataxes, fist/gauntlet weapons (including katars), etc.).
But I don’t see such being added before any expansion.
But I’d really like some one-handed spears. Krait get them, why not us?
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

Hi all, this is something I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about, and I’ve had a read through and i can see the gaming community all seem to be on the same page. Here are weapons i think should be added, both my own ideas and general agreement to whats already been posted.
+ One handed warhammer (either hand)
+Spears….for land.(ranged)
+Polearms(melee)
+Two Handed axe
+Scythe
+Whip
Personally i think these have the most potential of enriching the overall gameplay.
What i mean by this, is that, because they are all different from eachother, and different to what is already avaliable, they will give a much more varied skill sets, rather than have say 3 different types of swords or new weapons that could be easily handled with a skin change.
They are my thoughts lol
Kwestin Futtresha!
Ranger whip, warrior 2h axe, necro mele scythe mmmmmmmmmm i like that.
We will have to wait long to have more weapons to choose, i prefer to have more skills per weapon and bind them to the number i want, gw1 i miss you!!! (only some things :P)

Yeah, I don’t get why we don’t have combat staves. We only have magical staves. I’d like my warrior to be able to fight with a combat staff.
Don’t think warrior should get access to them, but I think this one (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Concept-Profession-Spiritualist/first#post1279552) should.

This is Guild Wars 2, not Runescape. A mace is your “one-handed hammer” and anet please disregard these answers, except for two-handed axe, spears and polearms. Everything else is too far-fetched.
Most obvious I think would be a two handed axe. It just makes the most sense. Polearms I think would be next and that could satiate some of the spear problems, because they are not going to have spears on land as it would be too easily confused with underwater spears, so a pike skin would make for a nice middle ground. The other spear alternative would be javelins, but I’m not a big fan and would prefer a nice pike skin on a polearm honestly. Crossbows would make sense as well. After that it gets muddy a bit. I don’t like katana as it’s too close to sword and doing a whole other skill build for a sword when they could be building a new weapon bothers me. I’m not opposed to a katana skin, but would prefer we wait until we are in Cantha. I don’t like fist weapons or throwing stars. If we really want to be creative, I’d like cloak as an offhand. Thieves could use it as a parrying weapon and mesmers could use it for a stealth skill and a phantasm. It would also fit the more renaissance feel to contrast the medieval GW original.

I’m just listing up the suggestions made thus far, no need to be rude. I might add a hierarchy regarding weapons that are wanted most.
The most weapon i want is the Scythe (i wish they implement the Dervish class very soon thou)
I’m sure weapons like Katanas and Spears will appear further, when we reach Catha and Elona, but I go on with the idea, some more weapons could be great.
cough cough…Spellbooks for elementalists..cough
The whip It’s cool too!
:) I’ll add new content in my list (see above)
All Katana (note no plural ‘s’) are intended in general, to be held at the ready with two hands. Some cuts use both hands, while others depending on the previous cut and direction of motion, momentarily shift from a two handed grip to a one handed one.
Two-handed sword styles, generally make use of a Wakizashi (short sword) and a Katana (long sword). And then you’re talking about a different kettle of sushi.
Watch some Samurai flicks, or even Conan the Barbarian—better yet, study some swordplay yourself!
Katana for assassin?
Katana is just a type of sword skin.. it’s not a new weapon.
Katanas are light 2h swords, while great swords are massive. It is like a sword to a dagger.
Not all katanas are two handed.

Bump.
Any one, else wanna show some love.
wow very nice,
I just don’t understand how warriors don’t have 2h axes when im sure some of there skills have pics of them and some of the art work shows a warrior holding a 2h axe.
But if they bring out some need weapons that will be great news.
O and because warriors are weapon masters i would love to see a trait or a skill so you can use 2 2h weapons lol. That would be epic
(edited by karl.4039)
As a Guardian, I’d like to see dual wielding shields!
We need bat’leths.
Don’t forget Knuckle Fist, Tonfa, Nuchaku , etc.
The weapon from martial art also needed..! and it’ll make some cool move..!
Punji Sticks
Bouncing Bettys
Sickles
Shovels [we have, but a full skill set]
We need: Polearm, Two-Handed axe, Spear on land and classes need to be able to use more weapond then they already can use. Also, what if weapons had more then the 5 skills available. Like with your utility skills, they can be swapable out of combat.
Sunrise ~ Bifrost ~ Bolt
Arena net stated somewhere that the weapons of the professions might change in future expansions. It was asked why there are no 2handed axes. “Then we would not had any weapons to add in the future”
A pile of dirt.
Currently playing Heart of Thorns.
I look through this thread and notice a fairly large amount of people want polearms.
I myself would like to see lances with polearm skins. I have seen lances/polearms in tons of games. The main focus of the weapons is stabbing, sweeping, and reach. Which honestly I already see that in current weapon sets, so it’s not a bad idea to implement the weapon.
If it was added it should involve chargeing skills, tripping enemies, and stabs. Though the problem with these weapons is they are almost always accompanied by shields, defeating the weapon system. (Unless you count the pole-arms monks use, which are two heavy to old with one hand.)
I’d kinda also like to see gauntlets/claws. I think it would be awesome to see a necromancer ripping at someone like a bear, or an elementalist using the fire attunement to form flaming dragon claws Or rangers slashing and ripping along with their pets OwO SOOOO COOOOOLLLLLL QWQ
C4 … we have engineers in the game, and separatists use explosives to create havoc within the game, so why not give engineers something more powerful than grenades, and give it a decent cool down of course.
I can see it now, an army of engineers placing a large cache of explosives at a gate or wall in WvW … as a counter you can have elementalist “healing” water skills wet the explosives so they don’t detonate (and fade from existence in a fizz rather than a boom).
Oh and for added effect, it knocks down anyone (friend or foe) within range.
The idea of whips and 2 handed katanas are really awesome suggestions
Also guys think about this: some sort of hand wraps that would give you kickboxing / kungkittenskills or belt that would give karate moves or wrestling skills
I always enjoy those events where you destroy things by kicking them. The kick is very cool with human ^.^
Probably just a variant of a sword but I want a rapier skin for my mesmer.
YEAAAAH I wan’t weapons that affect both enemies and allies! That’d be cool.
Spears. 2h long spears and 1h hunting spears. I’ve been trying to get my Guardian done up like a greek hoplite in golden armor since the beginning. It’s all hopeless without a good spear though. Maybe when Elona is released, the spear will reappear.

What is Elona? :P
It’s seems like every time I turn around this thread disappears on me lol.
I’d just like.to add slings (if I haven’t already mentioned it lol)
And give a little.bump and new faces care to comment.
I would love to have my warrior beat centaurs with his fists, Why don’t we have this?
Yeah, I don’t get why we don’t have combat staves. We only have magical staves. I’d like my warrior to be able to fight with a combat staff.
Thief should definitely have a melee staff as well. The traditional RPG thief/acrobat used a staff so it would be perfect for the profession with traits based in the acrobat tree.
I’m really surprised spears aren’t in GW2. A one-handed spear would use:
- First skill chain would be melee chain with vulnerability or bleed on the third
- Second skill would be a medium ranged throw with projectile finisher
- Third skill would be a control (trip knockdown) or condition (bleed stack)
- Only useable with a shield offhand
Votes for gatling gun siege weapon.
