Guild Wars 2

I have two 80s, a Thief and a Ranger. Both human. I somewhat regret not having the Thief be a sylvari, although I did make the Ranger a human because at the time it seemed a rarity to me. Not that I want to be unique, I mainly liked the idea of a young girl throwing her greatsword and axes around.

So now I want to make a sylvari, but preferably not redoing a Thief. Just going off of animations, I was considering a Warrior or a Necro, maybe a Guardian.

What do you experienced Sylvari recommend? Is there anything that fits in any of the Slyvari lore or personal story choices that stuck out?

Having only a Sylvari ranger that I’ve spent any time with I wouldn’t call myself experienced with them. I can’t think of anything off the top of my head lorewise or what have you that sticks out for determining a class. I will say though you can make a pretty kitten sweet looking sylvari female necro if you so choose. I haven’t played her at all yet, save for the starting instance, but that’s the one I threw together on a whim fwiw.

Well, I have a Sylvari Ranger, Thief and Necro. Sometimes wish my Warrior was a Sylvari, but I love my suikoden dedicated character. ;s Just make whatever class you actually want to play and make it a Sylvari. XD They suit anything perfectly imo.

AVOID the heavy classes!

They suffer from horrible stretching issues on the skirt. As do Medium, though it’s less noticeable on medium because everything is a trenchcoat anyways.

oh man, I don’t like guardians at all but now I have to have a Sylvari Guardian

Atm I am a little in love with my Sylvari Ranger- not uncommon sure but I think Ranger synergises really well with the Sylvari racial skills- I have a kind of nature magic/druid ranger and she is awesome!

Sylvari Necromancer is an interesting contradiction. Sylvari are all about life and discovery. Death is the end of the cycle of life. (I’ve noticed though that a Sylvari Necro is far more chatty than a Sylvari Mesmer. Its also really creepy how they sound like they’re treating their undead monstrocities as like little toys)

Sylvari necros are the best! Not only is there the interesting new-to-life but master-of-death conflict, but they look heaps o’ cool!

Here’s mine, Vahlia Rootrot, in her crit/burst dmg gear (Sylvari cultural T3) and her condition dmg gear (mix of Arah and Twilight Arbor armor sets).

If you listen in on some of the conversations that npcs have sylvari are just as curious about death as they are about life, so a sylvari necromancer isn’t that weird. Going for a power build instead of a minion master is even something that a certain important sylvari necro does in the game.

And the skin options can make for some interesting, necromancy motifs.

My Sylvari Necro is a minion master (mistress?). She treats her minions as “friends”, since she has a curious belief that when a creature dies, it’s not really “dead”. Part of its spirit lives on in its remains, and by reanimating the pieces of flesh into a minion, she can let the spirits live again.

I have four 80s, three of which are Sylvari, and the last is an Asura which was remade as a Sylvari. Guardian, Thief, and Necromancer. I will never make a different race. Sylvari is the peak of character creation entertainment and the cultural armor is unmatched. When I get home I’ll post pictures and you’ll be all “dang yeah Sylvari is best bro”

Also T3 Cultural heavy helm is the best piece of armor in the game.

Being Sylvari automatically makes any class better on merit of simply being Sylvari (and thus being awesome). Though I would have to say that they synergise better than anything else with the Ranger class.

Also: Sylvari necromancer represent! (she looks like she just finished casting for the next Final Fantasy villain :p)

The moment I found out about the Sylvari and the Guardian I knew they were a perfect fit. The Sylvari are about the Ventari code which is very King Arthur and the Knights of the Round table. The Guardian is the closest to the Knights I would think to the Knights of the round table (all about being protective and their virtues). Definitely an awesome fit. Go Guardian =).
