If I’m not mistaken, most creatures that are bio-luminescent are also poisonous. Some of the colors of leaf patterns on Sylvari and the thorned hairstyle lead me to believe that perhaps Sylvari also contain toxins common to plant protection?
Its not a very strong theory, and more creative curiosity, but I was wondering if maybe this could affect possible future racial skills?
Definitely possible and makes sense for some sylvari. Probablty not a trait they all share. Though for now, the poison wouldn’t be too strong since we see no actual evidence of it. maybe would be a good RP trait for a necro named hemlock.

I did model my necro on a poisonous tropical plant type thing, but I don’t know if it’s meant to be a trait that is assumed for all Syl.
Almost all plants are poisonous to humans. Even the plants we can eat have only parts that are non-toxic, usually the fruit or seeds. Even most plants that aren’t poisonous, like grass, can’t be digested because they contain too much cellulose.
Go out in to a forest and see how much edible food you can find!
Edit: some plants produce chemicals that are poisonous to insects, such as cocaine and caffeine, that have “other” effects on humans.
Getting high on Sylvari sounds pretty interesting to me.
Just imagine a Sylvari sitting in a meeting, and shortly after; everyone else around her starts hallucinating and trippin’ balls, while the Sylvari is left utterly confused.
