People on the turrets are not getting chest drops. What is the point and why shouldn’t we troll those who would get it?

Because that would make you an kitten and officially ‘that guy’, merely increasing toxicity amongst players and making people quit the kitten game. That would be the point.

This credit issue is a big problem and becoming a plague for Anet’s ‘new trinity’. Why be a SUPPORT if you will never get rewarded for it? Fail.

If you’re upset about not getting rewarded, don’t use the turret? what’s the problem? It’s also easily solved if you switched between people halfway through….or get off the turret during the lazer phase…

And I think you haven’t learned what it is like to do things simply because they need to be done. It’s called being selfless rather than selfish, to give rather than expect to receive. A lot of people seem to overlook this, yet appreciate acts okittendness without giving acts in return. Whatever. I’d gladly support even though I wouldn’t get one last chest, I can farm champs later.

This event is requires teamwork from 3 types of players to defeat Tequatl.
*Attackers
*Turret users
*Support to rezz and protect turrets

All three should be given credit for the event!

Unfortunately this isn’t a bug. If you aren’t doing direct damage to ANY boss/creature, be it Teq, Kal, Claw or the like. You will not get credit. You have to tag in order to get anything in this game.

I love the support role, I’m typically a healer/buffer as my main roles in just about any scenario. However, in most games, even if you don’t kill it yourself you can still get rewards due to a team effort. In GW2, this isn’t the case.

In the case like Teq, it sucks quite alot, having spent hours in overflows, waits, dealing with whiners. All whilst doing your best to remain support and when you SHOULD get credit, you don’t. It’s not exactly fair. Control and Support are very much asked to take a back seat compared to what Damage can offer. It’s a bit demoralizing is all, that there’s literally no good karma to come from being selfless in these cases.

Again just shows that removing the trinity created one single role DPS or GTFO in gw2. Everyman/woman for themselves.

I have been in Teq attempts that got him below 75% and also below 50%…

I have yet to recieve a Dragon Chest. Not sure if I was supposed to or not, but just sayin.

And my healing guardian with mace/shield goes back into the shed to collect more dust.

I thought when they talked about him at pax they said turrets and defenders would still get credit. Why isnt this happening?

So I just read that turret users, ressers, people defending turrets don’t get credit for taking down Tequatl.
I sat through 10 encounters strategizing for almost 10 hours making corrections and theorycrafting how to take him down. But now this…if you don’t attack Tequatl you get 0 credit?
Why should I defend turrets if I don’t get anything out of it? Teamwork? This event encourages teamwork yet it THROWS IT IN OUR FACES BECAUSE YOU ONLY GET CREDITED FOR ATTACKING TEQUATL….so what’s the point? They should’ve just left it as auto attack to win if they don’t credit the people who support the main DPS team.

So….why?

Has anyone postet this in the “bug” forum? It doesn’t seem to be working as intended

You can post it in the bug forum but unless they specifically stated that turret users would get credit, it’s working as intended.

Because it’s petty?

I’ve been on turrets/defending the whole time and got my chests, maybe it’s a bug? Remember you should be grouping up as the damage of your whole team counts towards your tagging.

I have been in a group and have manned a turret to make sure no troll uses it. No dragon chests.

Once people try it once and don’t get anything the will either just dps or skip the event completely. It really getting old that Anet miraculously finds a way to botch every single thing they do.

Weird maybe it really is a bug, i talked to random turret users, some got it while others didnt. Maybe whoever said party effects it is right and thats the reason why some are getting the chests while others arent.

If you’re on turret defense you should be running in to dps teq when he is stunned. As for turret users, use #1 skill, it hits for something like 10k when teq is stunned.

Problem solved.

I hit Tequatl once at the start of the fight, then hopped into my turret. I got credit.
